Kexin carefully selected a repertoire that catered to the local audience’s preferences. The program included classical pieces from different eras alongside more contemporary works from recent decades. Through the contrast of different styles, Kexin aimed to provide a new listening experience that would appeal to audiences with varying tastes. The repertoire includes Joe Hisaishi’s Wind-Hill, Fanny Mendelssohn’s “Das Jahr” October, Jean-Pierre Rameau’s Suite, and four-hand contemporary pieces performed with pianist Xu Tan. As a fearless interpreter of different styles of piano works, Kexin’s setting also aroused the interest of music lovers without any professional background, thus making classical music less mysterious but more approachable.

Ms. Kexin Liu has earned widespread praise for her performances over the years. She has been described as “a visionary musician” and “New York’s piano queen”. Her playing has been lauded as both “vigorous and fresh”, as well as “vulnerable and tender”. Kexin’s in-depth interpretation of different styles demonstrates her deep understanding of various genres.

Beyond her career as a pianist, Kexin is also a dedicated piano instructor. She currently works at Musik Colab Education Studio (https://www.musikcolab.com), located in Roslyn, Long Island, where she teaches over 20 students. Musik Colab’s education philosophy emphasizes musical enlightenment and innovation, encouraging students to explore the music world on their own. The enthusiastic teaching attitude and excellent expertise are recognized by all the students and their parents.

Special thanks to Dr.Gary de Sesa, Musical director at the Roslyn Presbyterian Church. None of these would be possible without him.
