The egg hunt will provide children with an exciting way to visit the trails and fi nd special eggs along the way. Dinosaurs! And Animal Adventure is the only engaging attraction of its kind on Long Island combining animatronic dinosaurs, skeletal dinosaurs, and live animals together in the same exhibition.

Over the past two years the exhibit has become a highly popular family-friendly attraction.

“During their school break, as parents look for activities to do with their kids, we wanted to host an egg hunt with a dinosaur twist,” said Dr. Ray Ann Havasy, executive director of CSTL.

The Dinosaurs! And Animal Adventure exhibit focuses on how animals adapt and survive. This is demonstrated through a unique intermixing of dinosaur models and live animals together. It is housed at CSTL’s 35,000 square foot WAC Lighting Hall of Science at its Tanglewood Preserve headquarters located at 1450 Tanglewood Road in Rockville Centre. School children and families from the New York region and beyond are expected to visit this exhibit annually to experience more than 80 unique displays.

As a science education-focused not-forprofi t organization, CSTL is dedicated to providing people of all ages with a place to engage in both formal and informal learning. CSTL also creates signature corporate programs and delivers educational workshops.

Dinosaurs! and Animal Adventure is open every day except Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are normally $15 for anyone 13 and older, $12 for children 1-12 yrs. old. Tickets can only be purchased on site.

Moonstruck: Lunar art at Heckscher Museum

Drawn from The Heckscher Museum of Art’s collection, Moonstruck features a broad range of artwork inspired by the moon and moonlight. From the nineteenth century to the present, artists have gravitated to the moon for reasons scientifi c, mythic, and symbolic. These celestial artworks explore the enduring fascination with the moon in all its phases. On view through Sept. 18.

Constant and ever-changing, the moon refl ects the sun’s light as it orbits earth. People use the cyclical waxing and waning of the moon to mark the passage of time and witness its gravitational force in the tides. At once tantalizingly within reach and achingly distant, the moon has inspired scientifi c study, space travel, and countless beliefs, traditions, and stories.

Coinciding with the Moonstruck exhibition: Potions 101: Lunar Elixirs on May 12, 7 to 9 pm — Participants will delve into the world or lunar elixirs and moon wisdom, then create their own moon potions. Registration required. More information at Heckscher.org/potions101
