PREPARATION BEFORE PROPERTY
A Vacation-Home Loan Starts With
Intended Use
Second-home and investment-property financing are not interchangeable. The classification affects down payment, pricing, reserves and program availability. Be direct with the loan officer about personal use, occasional rental or primarily rental use. Misstating occupancy to obtain better terms is occupancy fraud.
