I Wish You Were Here

Over the past while, I had the sad experience we all must have: losing someone you truly admire and love.

My Uncle Richard Brautigam was a card. A genuine, fun, family man of grace and integrity - something that is rare in a me-first narcissistic world.

The youngest on my Dad’s side, Uncle suffered from dementia. The disease was aggressive - one short year and he was gone. A blessing, if you could call it that as many suffer years and years of steadily declining health.

For Uncle Richard, using the noggin was crucial as he carved out a successful career as an engineer. To see the decline was heartbreaking.

But it wasn’t his smarts that I admired. It was his attention to family and community.

So, to be around a whole lot of family this past Friday was both bittersweet and life-affirming, a testament to the man. Of course tears were shed, but laughs, good wishes and condolences were shared.

As time marches onwards and those we love go away, Uncle Richard now lives eternally in our collective memory due to his actions and the life he led.

And although we only seem to get together nowadays at funerals, Uncle Richard - wherever he may be - would have been smiling, happy in the fact that family was together.

And isn’t that how it should be? Never putting off being with those you love.

Never taking time away from family because of work or “me-time”? The day will eventually come when those you love won’t be around, and the opportunity to simply call or visit will be forever lost. Seeing a familiar smile, witnessing a mischievous twinkle in the eyes, or hear a laugh . . . painfully gone.

Goodbye, Uncle Richard. We mourned, felt sorry for ourselves, and were presented with the reality of your loss.

But you gave us all one last final gift: Being Together.

Saskatchewan 2020 Election Will Have Some Significant Firsts

by John Gormley There’s an old saying in politics that a weekend can be an eternity, meaning that game-changing variables can move dramatically and quickly.

The corollary is that making predictions months before an election is a mug’s game.

Saskatchewan voters will cast ballots at the end of October and it will be a significant election for few reasons.

First, the Saskatchewan Party faces its fourth election as government and, besides the once natural governing party CCFNDP which had a lock on the province from 1944 until the early 2000s, the last non-NDP government to govern this long was the founding Liberal government in 1905 that held power for more than two decades.

Second, for Premier Scott Moe it will be his first public accountability session. Although Premier since early 2018, it was by virtue of winning the leadership of the governing SaskParty, not a decision made by the general electorate. After three successful campaigns with the popular Brad Wall at the helm, this election will be Mr. Moe’s first ask of voters to endorse him and the party under his leadership.

Third, for the NDP – the one-time political powerhouse that had only five leaders during 44 years of governing – this fall’s election will see the party’s fourth leader in four elections. Once thought impossible for a political party that reveres its leaders and memorializes their names, the NDP has

cycled through leaders as if hunting for a magic formula that eludes them.

The party’s latest leader, Dr. Ryan Meili, is a physician, social justice activist and relative newcomer to party politics. Although a dedicated campaigner for a variety of causes – he was even locked up while protesting at the Quebec City Summit of the Americas as a medical student -- Dr. Meili’s challenge has been to build out his party beyond its base.

It is axiomatic in politics – right or left in Saskatchewan – that when a party is considered for the privilege of governing it must reach past its core supporters to moderates, unaffiliated voters and political “switchers” who take a leap of faith. Dr. Meili’s harder left-wing social activism and “smartest guy in the

room” demeanor will leave him challenged.

A longtime political friend refers to two attributes that win elections: the opportunity for pleasant surprises and not being tempted by lost causes. Pleasant surprises are positions that attract voters beyond the party base. The temptation of lost causes is the tendency for a leader to either stay stuck campaigning to the base vote, which doesn’t grow support, or trying to move too far into issues and voters that will not yield results. It takes discipline and a good team to maintain a formula that wins.

A good example is Ryan Meili’s public support for Unifor members involved in the labour dispute at the Co-op Refinery in Regina. While the NDP is an official labour party,

relying on union financial and volunteer support, rather than show up on the picket line early on and declare his support, Dr. Meili waited until the situation deteriorated into lawlessness, stood in the crowd, nodding approvingly as out-of-province activists threatened an escalation in illegal activity, rule of law be damned. As public support for Unifor and its Ontario leadership has plummeted, Dr. Meili’s appearance did nothing to expand his support beyond hardcore union activists, whose votes he already has.

For the SaskParty and Premier Moe, a softer resource economy and a government in Ottawa committed to “transitioning” away many Saskatchewanians livelihoods, are a challenge. While

his recently unveiled growth agenda sets out some workable paths forward, his reach will have to be broader than just campaigning against the Trudeau government.

As the economy has softened in some sectors, the Premier’s steady, balanced and “Sask-first” approach have earned him popularity ratings over 50 percent, which are enviable for any leader, never mind one leading a party that has governed for over a dozen years.

This will be the year that leaders get tested.

I’ll bet we were roaring along about 30m.p.h when we hit that bump, but this was some time ago!

From about the age of 18 or so, Y.T. drove quite a bit and thought he knew the ??? around trucks.

I practiced double clutching so much that I did it even while shifting up. And because we were young (and Dad paid for repairs!) we even practiced shifting gears with-

got pretty good at it too!

However, we found out later thatDaniels being able to Calvin shift gears doesn’t always make a good truck driver!

Y.T. had quite a few oddball trucking experiences in the army but I think they’ve been mentioned in an article some time ago entitled “Convoy”.

Business was never something I was good at but “business” made me a truck driver overtime.

A fellow we knew had a machine agency, but not much business, another fellow needed a machine but had only wheat and no money. A third guy, because of the poor years, Calvinhis Daniels turned cattle out in the fields, bad grain delivery quota books and no grain. A fourth fellow had a big truck but no driver . . .

So guess who got hired to haul No.2 mans grain (in payment for No.1 mans machine) to an elevator where No.3 man had his quota book!

All went well until our third trip over that small bridge. I thought the vehicle ahead of me made quite a dip as it crossed (and i imagine they are the ones who broke the supporting beams), but there was doubt who Kim no Inglis was on it when it went down! Bang! Crash!

creek, and the weight of a load of grain rolled that big truck up the sloping bridge to the solid road on the other side. But the morale of the driver sure hit rock bottom!

Of course Y.T. found a few poles and put them across the road a bit back on either side, and kept on hauling wheat on a different road with a better bridge!

I suppose a fellow should mention his expertise as an experienced accident victim (I’ve told this one before too!). One time while coming in to town from the hill-farm, an axle broke on the old ‘39 truck, and 2 had to get it pulled. A fellow came along with his big truck and offered to tow me into town.

Advice TWIMC (To whom it may concern): When being towed, never hitch higher to the vehivle ahead because the front wheels (the steering ones!) come off the ground . . . Ouch! years later while working on construction and being, to the boss anyway, a “jack of all trades”, he let me drive his big trucks now and then. They had three big trucks, all of different makes and gearshifts, and everyone had a big laugh when I couldn’t figure them all out!

A truck driver in Edmonton once asked me if he could borrow my “cheater”. I looked in

the glove compartment of the big Mac I was driving and told him I didn’t have one. He laughed (again).

I went to see an old army aquaintance of mine who lived south of Sherwood Park when we were building a divided highway out to the Camrose Corner.

And the boss let me take his truck!

Sandy just happened to have a large beaker of stuff he called “rum” (or something like that!), and by the time we had liberated the genie that must have been in it, Y.T. was in no shape to battle the traffic on the one lane we had just finished. So he pulled onto the new grade that we hadn’t finished, turned on the flashing roof light and “inspected” it as he drove slowly all the way back to camp.

It took some extra time alright, and I recommend routes like that (where there is no traffic!). But the best advice is “don’t move!”

Of course, like everyone else Y.T. has had a lot more driving experiences, but one thing has become plain to him. A truck-driver needs a lot of “know how” to skin those big rigs.

And this kind of disqualifies Y.T. because he doesn’t seem to have much “know how” no how!

Governments make $8.1 million investment in livestock and forage research Federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Maire-Claude Bibeau and Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit announced nearly $8.1 million in funding under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership for 28 livestock and foragerelated research projects through Saskatchewan’s Agriculture Development Fund (ADF).

This includes $4.9 million in funding for 27 livestock and foragerelated research projects and $3.2 million in operational funding for the Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence.

The ADF is supported through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a five-year, $388 million investment in strategic initiatives for Saskatchewan agriculture by the federal and provincial governments.

“Big investments in science and research like this make a real difference in the lives of ranchers and producers,” Bibeau said, January 29. “It creates a pipeline of new tools and practices that give our producers a competitive edge in the market.

We are very excited to be partnering with the Province and industry groups on these many initiatives, which ultimately help grow our economy and support thriving rural communities.”

“Research that impacts farm-level decisions, such as water quality, nutrition and animal care, can result in tangible benefits for the Saskatchewan herd as whole,” Marit said. “We’re making strategic investments in research that will help producers and agri-businesses reach the targets for 2030 that are laid out in Saskatchewan’s growth plan. The results of this year’s projects will support a sustainable, strong and growing livestock sector.”

Support from the ADF is awarded on a competitive basis to projects that create future growth opportunities and enhance the competitiveness of the industry.

“The partnership that this research funding represents is an important part of Saskatchewan agriculture,” Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association Chair Rick

Toney said. “Having governments that will invest in research along with industry groups like the Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association is a key part of growing our cattle receipts and staying competitive in this global business. We appreciate this partnership and the focus the government has on agriculture as a major part of the provincial economy and way of life.”

The ADF projects supported this year will explore a variety of areas of interest to producers, including: strategies to address mineral nutrition in the face of poor water quality, developing new and improved forages, and developing diagnostics supports. Projects will also examine cutting edge computing tools that will help the livestock industry manage genomic test data, assess risk, inform therapy decisions, and ultimately achieve more prudent antimicrobial use.

In addition to funds committed by the federal and provincial governments, the ADF is also supported by industry

groups and other organizations. Livestock and forage projects are also receiving more than $650,000 from the following organizations: the Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association, the Western Grains Research Foundation and Feedlot Health Management Services.

“This major funding to the Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence ensures that we are providing the facilities, animals and land for scientists to conduct research that is relevant to producers throughout the province,” Director of the Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence, Dr. Kris Ringwall (PhD) said.

“We also appreciate that this is part of growing our relationships as we are all partners in this endeavour.”

According to the American Heritage Dictionary the phrase “waste not, want not” was first recorded in 1772, but was derived from an earlier version: “wilful waste makes woeful want” recorded in 1576.

In today’s world of credit cards, debit cards, and lines of credit, these terms take on a whole new urgency as bills roll in from our holiday spending sprees.

One of the most easily influenced home expenses is our food budgets and a few tips in reducing food waste, and thus saving money, is most appropriate in a food column.

What if I told you that you could have free vegetable broth?

Currently whenever you work with vegetables (onions, carrots, celery, etcetera.) the end trimmings are going into the compost, garburator or garbage. Dedicate a large food storage bag in the freezer for these end cuts and peelings instead and keep adding to this frozen mix until the bag is full.

a large pot, cover with cold water to the top level of the vegetables, bring to a boil, and then turn the heat to low and simmer for at least one hour uncovered. Strain and season to taste with salt and pepper and you have vegetable stock from ingredients that would have previously been discarded.

A great addition to this bag would be fresh herb stems. There is a ton of flavour in the inedible woody stems that will create complexity in your homemade vegetable stock.

Make a soup from scratch with your broth or pour it into ice cube trays and create a second freezer bag of cubed stock: this is perfect when you need a small amount of broth to make or finish a sauce.

The rinds from hard

cheeses also tend to see the garbage bin as their demise, but they can, however, b r i n g e x t r a essence to soups. For example, whenever making Minestrone (Italian vegetable soup) we always toss a chunk of parmesan rind into the Chef Dez broth. At the end of the cooking process, the rind is simply removed and discarded.

Leftover bacon fat, although not particularly healthy, can also be put to use in the kitchen. Moderation of this integrated into your diet needs to be practiced here, but on occasion a warm bacon dressing on spinach greens is amazingly delicious. Add the following to the rendered bacon fat from a half pound (227grams) of bacon, but

make sure that the bacon fat is not too hot or the fat will splatter when you add these ingredients: Three tablespoons apple cider vinegar, one to two tablespoons maple syrup, two teaspoons Dijon or grainy mustard, one half teaspoon dried thyme leaves, and a sprinkle of fresh cracked pepper.

Heat over medium heat, while stirring together, until very warm, and then serve immediately.

Basically what I want you to become is a conscientious cook.

Pay attention to everything that is being discarded in the kitchen and attempt to find new and innovative uses for them.

The Internet makes a great resource when investigating ideas and answers any questions you may have about food safety, which also needs to be emphasized here.

Dear Wilma, Yes, freezing is probably the best option to preserve the essential oils but try to use it up within three to six months if possible.

Remove the herb from the woody stems and freeze them both, but separately from each other. The thin stems are a great addition to making vegetable broth, but the thicker, hardier

stems make great flavour infused skewers for cubes of chicken breast . . . just be sure to soak them in water for a few hours first, to help prevent them from burning up on the grill.

Municipal Revenue Sharing to set new record In his annual speech to the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) Premier Scott Moe announced Saskatchewan municipalities will receive record revenue sharing.

The Premier also addressed the ongoing labour dispute between Unifor 594 and Federated Co-op Limited (FCL), offering the conditional appointment of a special mediator if Unifor 594 ceases illegal activities immediately.

Overall funding under the municipal revenue sharing program will increase to a record of $278 million next fiscal year – a total increase of $27 million in 202021. The amount represents a nearly 11 per cent increase in 2020-21 from the current fiscal year, and is almost a 119 per cent increase from the 2007-08 fiscal year. “This massive investment will position municipalities across Saskatchewan for the new decade of growth and to continue making key investments in their communities,� said Premier Moe. “Municipal revenue sharing has

provided municipalities a stable and predictable source of provincial revenue, and I am proud to continue our commitment to supporting key local priorities that help lay the foundation for a growing Saskatchewan.�

During his address to SUMA delegates, the Premier also announced that the Government of Saskatchewan would appoint a special mediator in the ongoing labour dispute between Unifor 594 and FCL, on the condition that Unifor 594 agrees to cease all illegal activities, including removing the unlawful barricades immediately. “As Premier I will act on options available under the labour laws of our province, starting with the conditional appointment of a special mediator,� said Moe. “I will appoint a special mediator today – a tool available to me under the labour laws of Saskatchewan – if and only if Unifor 594 follows the law. It is my strong belief that a negotiated settlement is in the best interests of both parties, and by removing the barricades and accepting the

assistance of a special mediator in the negotiations, I believe both parties will be well served.�

The Premier also stated that if Unifor did not accept this offer, that it is his expectation that the Regina Police Service uphold the law, enforce the court order, and remove the barricades at the Co-op Refinery. This will ensure that important fuel is supplied to communities across Saskatchewan that use diesel to heat homes in the winter, for school buses to transport kids, for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks, and for industries that drive our economy such as agriculture and mining.

The Government of Saskatchewan’s municipal revenue sharing program is based on three quarters of one point of the provincial sales tax (PST) revenue collected from the fiscal year two years prior to the current year. As introduced last year, $1.5 million from the total municipal revenue sharing program will also be invested in the Targeted Sector Support

Initiative for municipalities. The initiative is comanaged with municipal partners to support innovative ideas from municipalities that advance priority areas, such as good

governance, regional planning, and inter-community collaboration.

With this announcement, Saskatchewan municipalities have overall been allocated more than $3.1

billion in provincial funding through the revenue sharing program from 2007-08 to 2020-21.

More details will be available when the provincial budget is released.

We had a few calls on Monday from a number of motorists concerned for a female walking on Highway 14 west of Biggar during the foggy conditions. She was located and safely provided transport back to Saskatoon.

This past week the Biggar Detachment handled 47 calls for service, including five suspicious activity calls, three domestic assaults, two ongoing investigations into Break and Enters, and one that thought they’d run but didn’t get to far and will be in court for flight from police and possession of stolen property.

Between our provincial traffic services members and the Biggar Detachment, there were 20 traffic tickets issued in the detachment area along with one impaired 1/4 driv- Page ing charge.

Vapour legislation now in force

In order to better protect Saskatchewan youth from risks associated with vaping, The Tobacco and Vapour Products Control Act took effect, February 1, 2020.

“I’m excited to have this legislation in place,” Minister of Health Jim Reiter said. “This legislation will protect Saskatchewan youth from the harmful effects of vapour products. If you never smoked, then don’t vape.”

The new legislation is similar to measures found in other provinces and territories in Canada with vaping legislation in place. To address vapour products, The Tobacco and Vapour Products

Control Act contains provisions that: • restrict the sale of vapour/e-cigarette devices and products to individuals 18 years of age and older; • prohibit the display of vapour/e-cigarette products in a retail business where young persons have access; • restrict the use of vapour/e-cigarette products in and around public buildings, including schools and school grounds, in the same manner as our provincial tobacco legislation; • prohibit the sale of vapour/e-cigarette products from specified facilities such as amusement

parks, arcades, and theatres where youth frequent; • restrict advertising of vapour/e-cigarette products in the same manner as tobacco products by prohibiting advertising signs and promotional signs in areas where young persons can enter; • provide the ability to restrict the sale of flavoured tobacco and vapour products by regulation; and, • expand the authority of tobacco enforcement officers to include enforcement of vapour/ecigarette product restrictions.

Premier announces pipeline committee Tuesday, Premier Scott Moe announced the establishment of the Pipeline Projects Assessment Committee (PPAC), a cabinet committee focused on evaluating potential pipeline projects in Saskatchewan.

PPAC is a cabinet committee formed to review and assess the viability of pipeline projects in Saskatchewan and possible government involvement in investing, stimulating, or generally advancing these projects.

“Our government recognizes the necessity of further developing pipeline infrastructure to help our

energy products reach key global markets,” said Premier Moe. The decision to establish the PPAC stems from a number of proposals from businesses, indigenous groups, and communities that are looking at pipeline projects to advance access for Saskatchewan’s energy products to market. This includes projects expanding access south through the United States, and projects that would create access through the port of Churchill.

The PPAC will be comprised of the following

cabinet ministers: Minister of Finance Donna Harpauer; Minister of Trade and Export Development Jeremy Harrison; Minister of Energy and Resources Bronwyn Eyre; Minister of Environment Dustin Duncan.

Encouraging pipeline expansion and development within the province to enable the shipment of Saskatchewan oil through the U.S. and encouraging Indigenous equity participation in Saskatchewan pipeline projects were both goals set in Saskatchewan’s Growth Plan 2020-2030.

OBITUARIES Clay Harris November 29,1959 - January 24, 2020 Clay Lindsay Harris, age 60, of Lumby, B.C., passed the morning of January 24, 2020 surrounded by family at his beloved home. He was born November 29, 1959 in Biggar, Saskatchewan to the late Oliver Harris and Myrna (Clay) Harris. He grew up in Landis, Saskatchewan with his 3 siblings: Cindy , Guy, and Celeste. Clay is survived by his partner, Bernadette Dwan; his four children: Lindsay (Jason), Lyndon (Sherri), Landon, Lorin (Lindsey); and seven grandchildren: Carter, Taylor, Brooklyn, Jack, Oliver, Savannah, and Mila; along with Bernadette’s children and grandchildren: Mandy (Makenna, Drew), Ryle and many other close family and friends. Clay was a son, father, grandfather, partner and friend.

Although 60 was a young age, Clay’s life was full of love, laughter and excitement. He loved to laugh, and his kind, charismatic personality always managed to put a smile on everyone’s face. Clay touched the lives of many, even when it wasn’t his intention. He was a hardworking family man and always lent a helping hand without hesitation. Clay will be truly missed by family, friends and his community. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the White Valley Community Centre, 2250 Shields Avenue, Lumby, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Clay’s name to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.

6p1 John Syhut John Syhut passed away in North Battleford on January 27, 2020 at the age of 83 years. John is survived by his loving wife, Lois Syhut of 61 years; son, Wade (Debby); daughter, Brenda. John was predeceased by his daughter, Shirley Katherine; parents, Pete & Katherine Syhut; sisters, Olga Polo and Anne Kostiuk. A service to honour John Syhut was held in the Sonningdale Hall on Friday, January 31st at 11am.

Following the internment in the Sonningdale Cemetery a lunch was served at the hall 6gfh1 Ken A. Nein September 20, 1947 – January 27, 2020 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Ken Alexander Nein. Ken passed away peacefully on January 27, 2020, at the age of 72, at his home, surrounded by his family, in Hinton, Alberta. He was born on September 20, 1947 in Herbert, Sask to Alex and Martha (Jensen) Nein.

Ken grew up in Chaplin, Sask. He went on to work for 27 years for CN Rail as an operator/dispatcher in Biggar, Sask, Edson and Edmonton, AB. After retiring from the CN, he enjoyed working as a motor coach driver as well as a jail guard with the Commissionaires at the Hinton RCMP detachment. Being a bus driver and a jail guard was his passion in his retirement years.

Ken was a loving husband, an amazing father and an incredible friend to those whose lives he touched. With all of Ken’s journey’s in life, Ken always had a story to go with it. He married his darling Louise Lehouillier in 1968 in Swift Current, Sask.They had three children and were happily married for 52 years. Ken enjoyed coaching hockey, camping, fishing and having the perfect lawn. Mostly he cherished his time with his family. Ken was predeceased by his parents and his sister Darlene Hammer. He is survived by his loving wife Louise of Hinton, AB; his daughter Sheryl Nein of Hinton, AB, his sons, Rob (Carla) Nein of Kerrobert, Sk and Dennis Nein 0f Hinton, AB; and his 5 grandchildren Kylie, Jocelyn, Dryden, Garrett and Hailey, all of whom he was so proud of. Ken requested to be cremated and will be buried with his parents in Swift Current, SK. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Resident Care Foundation (114 Brule Street, Hinton, AB T7V 1M9) .

Sports & Recreation Will Votto Follow Walker Into The Hall?

Canada went 29 years between the induction of Ferguson Jenkins and Larry Walker to the Baseball Hall of Fame, but it likely won’t be that long a wait for the Canadian duo in Cooperstown to become a trio.

Toronto’s Joey Votto is a good bet for the Hall of Fame, but two things have to happen before he’ll be considered for enshrinement: 1.) He has to retire from playing; and 2.)

He has to wait five years before his name appears on the ballot. Then, his name stays on the ballot for up to 10 years unless he achieves at least 75 per cent of the votes cast.

Jenkins, a star pitcher with the Cubs and Texas Rangers, grew up in Chatham, Ont., and was the first Canadian inducted into the Hall in 1991. Twenty-nine years went by before Walker, the pride of Maple Ridge, B.C., received the necessary number of votes in January (he got 76.6 per cent) in his 10th and final year on the ballot.

His first love being

hockey, Walker, a goalie, concentrated on baseball after being cut twice by the Western Hockey League’s Regina Pats. It was a wise choice. Signed by the Montreal Expos after being scouted at the world junior baseball championships in Kindersley, Sask., Walker played six seasons with the National League team and then signed a fouryear deal for $22.5 million as a free agent with Colorado.

Walker’s career numbers were spectacular, and it’s shameful that Hall of Fame voters overlooked him for nine years before finally doing the right thing in his final year of eligibility. Graced with speed, power, and a terrific throwing arm, Walker batted .313 for his career, belted 383 home runs, stole 230 bases and had an OPS (on-base plus slugging percentages) of .965. That last figure ranks 11th among all Hall of Famers, trailing illustrious names like Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Lou Gehrig, but

ahead of immortals such as Willie Mays, Johnny Mize, Ralph Kiner and Hank Aaron. In 1997, when Walker was voted Most Valuable Player in the N.L., he batted .366, slammed 49 homers, had an OPS of 1.172 and drove in 130 runs.

Walker’s father, Larry Walker, Sr., said he felt immense pride after the announcement.

“There’ll be a lot more people . . . in Canada, trying to play the game of baseball because they want to be like Larry Walker,” he said in a CBC. com story.

Votto, meanwhile, should give Canada a hat trick of Hall of Famers when his name hits the ballot. Votto, 36, is currently 27th on that alltime OPS list. He’s signed with the Reds through 2024, when he’ll be 40 years old and probably ready to retire.

Meet the cast of NCCP’s “All Shook Up”

New Creation Community Players latest musical comedy, “All Shook Up” will run March 26-29 at the Majestic Theatre.

Clayton Braybrook Clayton was born and raised in Virden, Manitoba and now lives in Kindersley with his partner Glenda Giles. Clayton runs a private music studio, conducts the United Church and Kindersley community choirs, and raises and races Standardbred horses. Clayton played Scarecrow in Grade 12 and joined NCCP last year as Harry in Mamma Mia. In All Shook Up, Clayton plays Jim, Natalie’s father and he, too, is looking for love. He misses his deceased wife, but eventually finds love with Miss Sylvia.

Graham Lehnert Graham was born and raised in Biggar. He resides in Biggar with his wife Tanya and is currently finishing his teaching degree at the University of Saskatchewan. Graham as been in many musicals over the years in both NCCP youth and NCCP. Graham was Shrek in Shrek The Musi-

In All Shook up, Bob plays Sheriff Earl who has been enforcing the consistently conservative laws of the town under the leadership of Ms. Matilda. They eventually find one another.
