Biggar RCMP report

by Cpl. Dereck Crozier, Biggar Detachment, NCO IC It is a sad week for us with the senseless loss of life in Nova Scotia which included one of our members.

I would like to say thank-you to all who have expresses there sympathy. Our flag will remain at half mast until sunset on the day of Cst. Stevenson’s funeral.

This week we had 22 calls for service in the

area. These calls included four traffic safety violations, four suspicious vehicles, one theft and four general traffic calls of poor driving habits but I am happy to report no collisions this past week, the deer are finally learning.

Reports were also received of an unsecured load of electrical supplies obstructing highway travel between Landis and Biggar.

There was a heavier

police presence around Perdue this past week for a few files, and with coffee talk at a stand still, curiosity must be stirring.

In short we responded to and assault with a weapon via a cane, suspect was located and provided a court date.

The second call resulted form a few transients passing through from Calgary and once again the subjects of complaint were dealt with and sent on there way.

AgriStability enrolment deadline extended to July 3

Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit announced the AgriStability enrolment deadline for the 2020 program year has been extended without penalty to July 3, 2020.

This step, agreed to by federal, provincial and territorial governments will help producers manage the impact of current market disruptions, increased expenses and production challenges facing many farm operations.

“This extension will give producers additional time to consider their risk management needs during this period of uncertainty,” Marit said, April

20. “We understand the challenges the Saskatchewan agriculture industry is facing and I encourage producers to consider the AgriStability Program.”

AgriStability is a lowcost risk management program offering financial assistance to producers who experience large margin declines due to any combination of production loss, adverse market conditions or increased costs. Coverage is personalized for each farm by using historical data to calculate a program year margin and a reference margin.

To assist with cash flow and financial stability, participants in the Agri-

Stability Program can apply for an interim benefit. Through an interim benefit, producers receive a portion of their AgriStability benefit early to help support losses and cover costs before completing their fiscal year.

Enrolling in the AgriStability Program is easy.

Saskatchewan producers can provide all the necessary information over the phone through a brief conversation. Producers can also complete the short contact form to begin the application process and request a call back from AgriStability staff.

Council Minute highlights The regular meeting of Biggar Town Council was held March 17, at 7:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Attending the meeting were Mayor Ray Sadler, Aldermen Alan Boyle, Penny McCallum, Kevin McNicholls, Edward Young, and Ivan Young.

Council resolved that the Agenda for the March 17 Regular Meeting of Council be approved as presented.

Council resolved that the minutes of March 3, 2020 Regular Meeting of Council be accepted as presented.

Council resolved that the minutes of the March 10, 2020 Committee Meeting of the Whole be accepted as presented.

Council resolved that the Town Foreman’s report to March 17, 2020 be accepted as presented by the Town Foreman, Mark Haynes.

Council resolved that

the General Accounts Paid in the amount of $43,819.96, and the General Accounts Payable in the amount of $35,701.87, be approved.

Council resolved that the following financial reports for February 2020 be accepted as presented: Bank Reconciliation; Statement of Financial Activities.

Council resolved that the following correspondence be accepted for Council’s information and filed: SAMA; Election Workshop; Wheatland Regional Library Closure.

Council resolved that Town officials execute the Land Purchase Agreement for Proposed Parcel V, consisting of 169.51 acres detailed in the Proposed Plan of Subdivision completed by Altus Geomatics to Viterra Inc. for the sum of $135,608 for economic development purposes.

Council resolved that Town officials execute the Land Purchase Agreement for 22.75 acres of land in the SE 1/4 of 8-36-14-W3 detailed in the Proposed Plan of Subdivision completed

by Altus Geomatics from Leona Allen and Sandra Hauser for the sum of $50,000 for economic development purposes.

Also, Town officials recommend the approval of the Proposed Plan of Subdivision for Parcel D and the Proposed Plan of Subdivision for Parcel V, both completed by Altus Geomatics, to be submitted ot Community Planning for approval.

Council resolved that the Biggar Town and Country Fair Committee be granted $1,000 of financial support toward the fireworks show.

Council resolved that Town officials enter into an agreement with Dr. Karuna Narang to pro-

vide an incentive to secure employment within the Town of Biggar.

Council resolved that the following transfers be made from the Capi-

tal Trust Fund to General Operating for 2019: Landfill upgrade - $410,000.

Council resolved that a payment in the amount of $272,504 be made to

the Capital Trust Fund for the landfill upgrade project from the Gas Tax Fund account.

It’s hard to imagine that in this day and age, the cruelty of one person can overwhelm a community, province and country.

The events that happened this past weekend in a little quiet town in central Nova Scotia is absolutely astonishing and heartbreaking.

I grew up in Nova Scotia where it’s usually pretty quiet and “nothing happens”. It’s a tourist destination built on the “friendly folks” of this part of the country. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends of the people slain by a madman. My condolences also go out to a province where “nothing happens”, but will now find their lives changed forever.

You notice that I will not mention the attackers name as I do not want to give - under any circumstances - this person any more fame than he has already been given by the networks.

The real people that should be mentioned are the victims of this outrageous act of selfishness.

Stay strong Nova Scotia the good folks of Canada are behind you.

Letter to The Editor Only in a small town, happy events can happen!

On April 9, The Independent featured a whole page of people three local Biggar kids a Happy Birthday. This was courtesy of the “Drive By Birthday Squad” This group has been doing this is self imposed isolation and celebrating birthdays.

There was a long line

up of cars driving by the homes of the birthday people (including R.C.M.P and Biggar fire department.

Kevin, the photographer from The Independent, took these pictures of people in cars, holding up signs and waving “Happy Birthday”.

What a great idea to do this and have it published in our local paper!

Congratulations to all

the people that helped the birthday people celebrate in this time of self imposed isolation.

An ecosystem can only be healthy when the web of species is connected and playing their part. The key to nature is connection. While we look for different ways to connect to each other, it is also important for our health,

both physical and mental, to connect to nature.

Where can we go when we feel confined to our homes? We suggest a dose of the outside world.

It’s spring now, and the outdoors are a bright light during these darker days.

Chef Dez And Y.T. used those tools and still would have if he could have found a place to set down whatever he was fixing! As a matterof-fact, a short while ago, while trying to sort things out a bit, I found a few tools that I didn’t know we had!

S t i l l , Bob Mason having used some of those old things out there for a fair part of his life, the mention of a martingale collar, breast straps, hames, britching and bridles, almost makes Y.T. feel like a relic himself. And he is often a bit surprised when he finds them in a museum somewhere!

There is all sorts of stuff out there that mebbe a fellow should have gotten rid of, but darn it all, tossing out some of those things is almost like hauling off and hitting an old Kim Inglis friend!

This sounds a little boastful, but Y.T. feels that he could scrawl pages and pages (and probably has!) about those old tools, old clothes, telephone insula-

tors and wire, and even a roll of the barbed stuff Calvin Daniels that used to be so necessary on every farm. Possibly we’ll never use much of these things again yet they give our conscience quite a jolt when we pick them up intending to throw them out. Mebbe one of our main reasons is that we don’t want to throw out the past either.

Y.T. sorted through a lot of old tobacco tins and found a few large Edward VII copper coins in one and remembers saving them to buy some cheap candy back in the 1930’s.

Some of them are a kind of dirty green, and this reminded me of a conversation Y.T. had with Calvin Daniels the hostess at our golf course. “Do you allow dirty old men in here?� I asked. “Sure,� she sez, “as long as you have some dirty old money!�

Y.T. really qualifies for that “dirty� and “old� bit, but I’m sure that the hostess idea of dirty old money didn’t include coppers!

by Delta Fay Cruickshank for the Biggar Museum and Gallery By 1909, the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway was built across the prairies and the area surveyed as Biggar was becoming a village. By 1911, that small village had already become a town.

I was thinking about the homesteading women . . . in a makeshift home, miles from town and neighbours. I wonder how long they were isolated by bad winter weather, muddy tracks in spring, and just too busy all summer long? How many weeks were they left in their homes?

Many years ago, Alice Ellis sat down and wrote out some of the things her mother would have been doing in 1913 after they first arrived in the Bear Hills, south and east of Biggar. In general, she cared for her husband and their two small boys, cleaned her home, and kept the threesquare meals a day coming. But everything was made from scratch. And I mean really from scratch;

Social Isolation, a way of life in the past a potato wasn’t peeled that she hadn’t sprouted, planted, watered and then dug from the garden. Living on the farm would be different than living in town, and yet I can imagine everyone got a little cabin fever and needed to read or socialize.

The Biggar Independent was full of recipes, stories about crimes in places all around the world, in fact there was one whole page devoted to women and children. In the 1913 papers I read about box socials. What was a box social? A woman would make up a lunch, put it in a box that she had decorated, and that box would hopefully be bought by the gentleman she had her eye on. They would then share the lunch, visit and if there was a band, or a gramophone they could dance. Alice said it was sometimes very awkward, especially if the person who bought your box wasn’t fancied by you at all!

The women in town may have had the luxury of walking to one of the general stores to buy a store

made dress, but Alice’s mother made all her own clothes, except for one good outfit. All sorts of fabrics, ginghams, muslins, flannelettes and suiting were available in the stores along Main Street.

So, how did Alice’s mom and the other women on the farms get to town in 1913? Once a day a train

picked up travelers going west and once a day a train went east. I wonder if you lived along a railway track going into Biggar you could just flag it down and the train would stop for you? Spending a couple days in town would have been very exciting; shops, other women to speak to, books, news-

papers and magazines to bring home, read and absorb, and imagine, not having to make every meal!

The Canadian Restaurant on First Avenue had great meals for only 25 cents! The ads in the 1913 papers has told me so much about the services available to the women

and men in Biggar. I am astonished at what was available to the public . . . fresh oysters in stock all year round, lemons and figs in January, the latest in heating stoves and fashions from Europe.

Biggar in 1913 was a centre for work, socializing, shopping and living.

COVID-19 changing how we eat There is no doubt that COVID-19, and the need to isolate for the common good in the face of the bug, has changed how we eat.

While many restaurants have stayed open to take out and delivery, being shut in our homes, many laid off from work, has afforded time to home cook meals more than has been normal.

In my case, I just turned 60, and having grown up on a Saskatchewan farm in an era where my mother did not work off-farm, I was used to home cooking being on the table for

three squares a day as a trip through a drive-thru for a burger, they say. or pizza. The difference is of course the time we have for something often seen as mundane as cooking food.

There are a lot of demands on our time today, with parents almost always working, and the need to chase children to a wide array of athletic, and culture endeavours as we try to offer our kids to greatest range of opportunities possible.

Now, suddenly because of COVID-19, families have the time to return to home cooking. There

is little in this world that is better than the aroma of homemade bread baking in the kitchen. It is frankly a purely joyous thing.

And the meals my better half is making, from ham and bean soup to a curry meatloaf with a handful of sweet raisins mixed in, have me not missing restaurants, although a take out burger occasionally is thought about.

It is a good thing that people enjoy the family time a homemade meal can offer a family.

It is a situation that had shifted food needs, flour

is often sold out at stores, and that is creating different opportunities for farmers.

The question is what happens post-isolation? Will we maintain an increased interest in home cooking?

The short-answer is probably not. The demands on our time will mean mixing flour and yeast, kneading dough, and watching bread rise will fall off the list of things we have time for, even though fresh bread smells fantastic and tastes that way too.

Eagle Creek Wildlife Federation News Our annual fund raising functions have all been cancelled.

The March 21 banquet and awards was to be held in Perdue, and the Fish Fry, April 26 in Asquith.

Hopefully, we will hold these events at some later date. The Gun Raffle draw was held in the Prairie Pride office in Saskatoon on March 31. Gun winner was Lorie Lubyk.

This year our branch put forward $10,000 towards the land purchase at

Perdue at NW 15-35-12 W3M. The land is now owned by Sask Wildlife Federation and is part of Habitat Trust Program.

That will be announced at the 2021 convention being held in Saskatoon.

We also donated $500 to the Habitat trust Fund and $500 to Hannin Creek Education Centre at the February Convention held in Weyburn.

Tree Canada will support our program to plant trees suitable for the habitat,

on the land purchase in the future. We’ll need volunteers to help do this.

Thank you to everyone for your support in the past. For the donations for our Fund raiser Banquet and Awards night.

For purchasing raffle tickets and buying memberships, all these help us to do our conservation programs.

Latvia has banned online gambling during COVID-19 lockdown, only EU member to do so The global pandemic caused by the coronavirus has led to lockdowns in most countries around the world.

As people are confined indoors, they are tempted to spend more time over the Internet, doing things they enjoy.

Online gambling is such a pleasant pastime that makes it easier for the fans to forsake the freedoms previously taken for granted. In some countries, this activity has been disrupted by the authorities, and Latvia is a shining example. The Baltic state has banned online gambling during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The authorities have announced that until the COVID-19 lockdown concludes, all forms of online gambling will be suspended.

There are a few activities that were exempted from this blanket ban and these are numerical and instant lotteries. The bill signed into law by the country’s president in late March will be in effect until the end of April. There is a strong possibility for the lockdown to be extended in May, and if this does happen, online gambling will not be permitted for even longer.

The fact that the lotteries were not included on the list of banned online gambling activities isn’t exactly a coincidence.

These games are run by the state, so the authorities have good reasons to keep them going until the pandemic subsides.

While the bill was signed on March 22, it only started to produce effects on April 6, but players can still get their money. Essentially, they won’t be able to place any bets, play casino games or poker, but they are entitled to cash out their winnings if they choose to do so.

The decision to shut down all forms of online gambling except for the aforesaid lotteries came as a surprise for many of the top new sites online who recently scaled up on TV advertising. It was a

blow for the online gaming community who was counting on this form of entertainment to keep them going during these hard times.

The fact that the bill will likely be extended beyond April is even more frightening and the authorities contemplate the possibility of a three-month ban.

It all depends on how the coronavirus pandemic evolves and its effects on Latvia.

The reasons why online gambling was prohibited are few and the authorities didn’t go to great lengths to explain their arguments. Apparently, they are concerned about the prospect of people spending too much time online and gambling excessively. In the absence of any other form of entertainment, many might be inclined to ramp up their spending and gambling excessively. There are concerns that once the pandemic is over, some players might find themselves struggling with addiction and financial problems.

Latvia is, for the time being, the only European country to impose such drastic measures, but others might follow suit. Enjoyed by millions of people from all over the world, online gambling has its fair share of detractors and they might be tempted to take advantage of this opportunity.

Ohio man pulls gun on Easter Bunny Head east on I-70 from Columbus, Ohio and 95 miles later, right in the middle of nowhere, youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll hit Middlebourne. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a small town, where the typical news is about the sheriffâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s department getting a new K-9 officer, or a surprise pizza party for first responders.

But the Wednesday before Easter, the news took a darker turn.

On the afternoon of April 8, someone dressed as the Easter Bunny visited residents of Middlebourne for photos before heading to an overpass over 1-70 to wave at passing vehicles. Most residents just posted to their Facebook accounts, happy for some light-hearted news in the world. But the sight of the Easter Bunny walking around and waving must have enraged one 49-year-old man. He

approached the Easter Bunny on the overpass, waving a handgun and threatening the rabbit.

Can you imagine driving through Ohio and seeing someone pointing a gun at the Easter Bunny?

Presumably it was a bystander who called the authorities about the scene. The bunny must have diffused the situation because by the time deputies arrived, the armed man had left the scene.

Nearby, however, they discovered a truck with a DIY-camouflage paint job and two men sitting inside passing a weekday afternoon sharing a 12-pack of beer.

One man cooperated fully with the sheriff.

Not our guy though; he refused to exit the vehicle until a K-9 officer arrived at the scene.

Officers found the handgun in the truck along with the beer.

Reports say the suspect was slurring his words and unable to walk a straight line. He also had a fever and symptoms of coronavirus, so his buddy really got more from their afternoon hang out than he bargained.

Heâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll likely get charged with aggravated menacing and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle.

Not that I have any sympathy for this guy, but thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s got to be one of the worst hangovers of his life. Wake up in jail, charged with threatening the Easter Bunny and sick with COVID-19.

At least heâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s also got that sick paint job on his truck.

Womanâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s cries for help arenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t exactly what police expected We all know that some parrots can talk, and we love them for that.

But sometimes they do unexpected things, such as order snacks for themselves off of Amazon!

Donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t believe me? I wrote an article about it called Rocco Wants A Cracker So He Orders Some From Alexa.

Sometimes parrots do more than that, too. Like alert neighbours to an emergency situation, or so thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s what happened in this odd story.

In Florida, police responded to a call reporting a woman who was screaming out in distress.

The thing is, it wasnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t a woman in need of help, or a woman at all, but her very vocal pet parrot. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Our deputies in Lake Worth Beach came to the help of someone screaming for help,â&#x20AC;? the Palm Beach County Sheriffâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Office said via Facebook. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Hilarity ensued.â&#x20AC;?

The owner has not been revealed to the public but according to the man who was in his driveway working on his wifeâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s car this past weekend, Rambo the parrot, was sitting near the homeâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s entrance while singing and talking to himself.

The parrot begun screaming, â&#x20AC;&#x153;Let me out.

Let me out! Ohhh! Ohhh!

Ohhh!â&#x20AC;? Rambo did this in such a lifelike fashion that a neighbour called the police, believing that the she was in fact in trouble. â&#x20AC;&#x153;I was changing the brakes on my wifeâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s car and had my 40-year-old parrot, Rambo, on his outside perch where he sings and talks. Sometime later four police officers showed up saying a neighbour called because she heard a woman screaming for help,â&#x20AC;? the owner said. â&#x20AC;&#x153;I promptly introduced the officers to Rambo and we all had a

good laugh.â&#x20AC;? â&#x20AC;&#x153;Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll bring out the screamer to you,â&#x20AC;? Ramboâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s owner says in a video as the officers are standing in the driveway. The man walks off camera before grabbing Rambo and introducing the bright green and yellow parrot to the officers. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Oh man!â&#x20AC;? the officers are heard saying in the video. Afterwards, the owner also introduced his pet to the neighbour who called the police about the â&#x20AC;&#x153;woman in peril,â&#x20AC;? after thinking she was truly in danger because of the parrotâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s cries. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Afterwards, I also introduced Rambo to the neighbour who called in the screaming. She too had a good laugh,â&#x20AC;? the owner said. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Sometimes Rambo yells â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;help, help, let me out.â&#x20AC;&#x2122; Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage.â&#x20AC;?

Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre While not a strict fast food establishment, this gruesome crime remains unsolved to this day, haunting Las Cruces.

Two men entered the local bowling alley 40 minutes before it opened on Saturday, February 10, 1990.

Inside were seven people, including four children. The men shot everyone execution-style, at point blank range, before stealing a few thousand dollars from the safe and setting the building on fire.

Despite getting shot in the head, one child remained conscious and called 911 for help.

Pizza Hut Delivery Driver Murder In November 2017, Wichita Pizza Hut employees grew concerned when their coworker, Hasan Rahman, didn’t return from two scheduled deliveries.

In the following days, authorities found Rahman’s car abandoned, with his body locked in the trunk. The police don’t believe robbery motivated the murder, instead connecting it to

a double homicide which took place nearby on the night of Rahman’s disappearance.

All three murders remain unsolved.

Dominos Delivery Driver Disappearance While this mystery remained unsolved for 25 years, Salem cold case investigators caught a break in 2007, when an imprisoned serial killer admitted to committing the crime.

Back in 1982, the Domino’s Pizza in Salem got a call for four large pizzas delivered by a woman in an orange Volkswagen.

While that employee was off for the night, the fast-food restaurant sent Sherry Eyerly instead.

The address was fake, and witnesses spotted Eyerly’s car with the engine still running, the headlights on, and the pizzas discarded nearby.

She had vanished.

Serial killer William Scott Smith told investigators he strangled Eyerly with an accomplice and dumped her body in the nearby river. He received an additional life-sentence added to the time he’s serving for three other murders.

Police found a “very sweet” pit bull at the wheel of a 1996 Buick that had crashed.

The unidentified man, 51, is now facing several charges including DUI, reckless driving, hit-andrun and felony eluding.

The man from Lakewood, Washington, hit two other cars before speeding off Interstate 5.

But what the cop saw, well, I guess it explains what happened next.

The pit bull was seen in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, with the owner

handling the wheel from the passenger seat. The car hit speeds of 109 mph while even driving along a popular walking and biking trail that was thankfully empty at the time.

It took spike strips to put a stop to the escalating situation, but once questioned, this is what the man told police.

According to the unidentified Washington man, he was “trying to teach his dog how to drive.”

I wish I could make this up. I’ve been a trooper for almost 12 years and

wow, I’ve never heard this excuse. I’ve been in a lot of high speed chases, I’ve stopped a lot of cars, and never have I gotten an excuse that they were teaching their dog how to drive,” said Washington State Patrol officer Heather Axtman The officer described the pit bull as a “very sweet girl,” but they did have to take her to the local animal shelter. Poor girl.

The owner was later released on an $8,500 bond.

There are plenty of obvious downsides to working in fast food, such as long hours, mundane work, inadequate pay, and demanding customers.

Add to that list the fact that fast-food restaurants often appear as the backdrop to vicious, brutal, and unsolved murders.

These crimes are particularly senseless because robbery doesn’t seem to be the primary motive in any of the cases. Some are so strange, violent, and disturbing they’re renowned among true crime aficionados. Others, while less known, are still tragic and haunting.

Burger Chef Murders This crime takes place in 1978, Speedway, Indiana.

Four teenage employees, aged 16 to 20, vanish while closing the Burger Chef. Hikers discovered their bodies just days later, 20 miles away from the Burger Chef.

The unknown assailants stabbed two of the victims, shot one, and bludgeoned the youngest to death.

OBITUARIES MARION KUPCZYK of Penticton, BC. Passed away peacefully at Westview Place Seniors Care Home April 8th, 2020. Marion was born in Biggar, Sask. August 4, 1927, the youngest child of W.E. White & Annie(Bannerman). Marion was raised on the family farm south of Biggar.

After school she took her hairdressing training in Saskatoon & came home to work in her hometown salons. She worked till 1983 ending her long loved career at the Hy-Style Beauty Salon. Marion married Bill Kupczyk in 1950, and together they raised their 3 children & they retired in 1984. To us our mother always looked like she came from her own appointment at the salon & she loved being dressed up! She enjoyed her years in Eastern Star, baking, doing ceramics, paper tole, being with family & she loved reading books, late in her life the staff where she lived would bring their own books in for her to enjoy. In 1984 they moved to Abbotsford & enjoyed the mild weather, time in the yard, friends & family there. In 2011 they moved to Penticton BC to be closer to family. They resided at the Hamlets care facility where mom stayed for a few years after dads passing. Mom the moved to the Westview Place Seniors Home till her passing.

Marion was predeceased by both parents, all her siblings & their spouses.

Marion is survived by her son Bill & Sandi of Regina, Sk.; Billy & Keri-Lyn, Olivia & Ayden. Christina, Alexander & Cassidy. Son Gordon & Diane, Penticton, BC.; Chad & Krista, Anna, Sara & Meagan. Jody & Shaun Binions, Massie, Ivy & Corwin. Kara & Jon Cara, Kingston & Vayda.

Food Bank sees increased need . . . Biggar and District Food For Thought’s Barb deHaan with some of the food and vouchers handed on every third Wednesday of the month at the west door of Hammond Realty. Local businesses have really stepped up during the COVID-19 pandemic with Parrish and Heimbecker and area individuals giving generously.

Brett Barber of New U Fitness held her own food drive, collecting three boxes and several bags of nonperishable food goods. Barber has a green bin outsider her business for further donations and will continue to collect. Monetary donations can also be made to the Biggar Food Bank at Box 338, Biggar, Sask. They truly appreciate how the people of our area have responded in this trying time.

Leslie's Drugstore We are open regular hours with only one exception, we are closed for one hour 12:30-1:30 Monday - Friday for registered Town of Biggar volunteers to shop for deliveries to shut ins and people who have travelled.

Regular hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30am-7:00pm Thursday 8:30am-8:00pm Saturday 8:30am-6:00pm Sunday 11:00am-6:00pm We are doing deliveries for people who shop in store but if they want a phone in delivery they need to call the Town of Biggar by noon Monday to Friday only 948 3317.
