Changing Up Gift Giving
A wonderful opportunity to shop local, support local businesses and their families & create special memories!
Christmas and the festivities it entails brings with it the act of gift giving. Some people love it and others loathe it. At times it can feel like you are just going through the motions of giving a gift for the sake of giving something. If you’re stuck on ideas for what to get your loved one, here are some of our top ideas!

1. Opt for PRESENCE over PRESENTS
These days everyone is time poor, rushing here and rushing there. Sometimes the best gift you can give is one of being present, of spending time sharing stories and laughter together. It’s these moments that create long lasting memories. Why not gift your person a coffee or a lunch date so that you can finally catch up!
2 . Shop local - save postage & waiting on delivery!
We have a wonderful array of local businesses who could use our support at this time of year. Better yet, they give great customer service with a smile and can help you pick out your gifts.
Our favourite places for gift shopping are:
·The Keppel Collection
· Natureal Elements ·Solfoods ·Hannah Jones Book Store ·Gypsy Lane ·Shannon Hawkes Florist ·Jet James Artist
3. Give an experience.
Things collect dust and quite often don’t get used. Do something a little different and gift an experience. We have so many unique niche businesses offering some great experiences. Here are some of our suggestions:
·Stir & Stitch Voucher for the Tea House or one of their fantastic classes ·Coastal Picnics Co Voucher for a picnic in one of our idyllic coastal locations ·Aphrodite Art School Voucher for an art class or workshop. Jules has some fantastic ones coming up in the New Year. Check out her website www.beltera.com.au ·Voucher from a local therapist – Karlene Pass, Yeppoon Naturopathy, Natureal Elements, See Change Soulful Counselling & Hypnosis, The Bondoola Healer,
4. Handmake your gifts
Handmade gifts are a beautiful way of imparting your love and time. The options are endless when it comes to handmaking gifts. Some simple bath salts or biscuits or brownie mix. Simple is best!
5. Regift or reuse
In this day and age of so much waste, it can feel good to regift, reuse or repurpose items that you are no longer using. Consider passing on books that you have read, crystals, oracle cards that you no longer use – the possibilities here are as endless as your imagination!
