Welcome to Nat’s Space A warm and inviting room above Yogolicious Café in James Street Yeppoon. Here you will be welcomed into a sanctuary of healing and relaxation
Nat’s Space offers Ka Huna Body Healing Work. If you ’ re not familiar with Ka Huna, it’s a Hawaiian massage therapy that has said to be deeply transformative. It is an art that combines a dance of healing with specific techniques and rituals to bring about peace, harmony and balance to the body, mind and soul
Having witnessed her grandfather massaging animals at a young age, he told her that it was pretty much the same to massage humans, just a bit different. It wasn’t much later in her adult life that a friend suggested that she learn how to do Ka Huna massage and her response was “Na, not for me ” . Nat says “I tried to go to sleep that night and a big Hi, biscus showed itself as I was going to sleep, Then I opened my eyes and said that's not, a coincidence. So, I asked this beautiful person to give me the details of where to go and do this training ”
Nat believes that receiving a Ka Huna is the most beautiful massage that you can receive, if you are open to it It is not for everyone “It’s the most Divine touch anyone can have, for me that’s how it feels” she says.
“It’s the most Divine touch anyone can have, for me that’s how it feels”
During a Ka Huna session, the client is naked to allow for the full body rhythmic strokes Modesty towels are used to keep the client comfortable and unexposed.
Clients report having differing and varying experiences depending on what comes up for them during their session For some it is a peaceful and blissful experience, feeling the love of the ancient Hawaiian modality move through their bodies, while for others it can be more of an emotional release as they move through and let go of what is no longer serving them Either way, Nat is there to support and hold space along the way
A Ka Huna Bodywork Session is a Love Bomb for the body It is also a session for the body, mind, spirit and soul, so any of the above can happen and it does
The words of wisdom that Nat lives by are “Be in the now, has hard as it is at times it is where we are meant to be It's called the present for a reason. Also if you can change something do it, if not let it go and if you can't look within to find out why”
To book a session with Nat’s Space, you can contact her via her Facebook page or call/text her on 0417 043 692

About half of all Australians will experience some form of mental health issue in their lifetime and on average one in five will have an issue in a year Queensland Mental Health Week which runs this year from 7th – 15th October aims to provide an opportunity to raise awareness and understanding of mental health and wellbeing while reducing the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health conditions
The theme this year is awareness, belonging and connection Here on the Capricorn Coast, the Livingstone Shire Council will light up public icons including The Singing Ship, Yeppoon Amphitheatre, Keppel Sands foreshore and Wreck Point lookout to shine a spotlight on mental health
Sunday 15th October will see the second annual Walk for Wellbeing which is organised by The Hub Capricorn Coast. To date 80 registrations have been received for the event where participants will walk from Farnborough Beach (just north of Rotary Park) to Kemp Hill The aim of the event is to take time out for your wellbeing while enjoying some fresh air and exercise It is not about being the fastest or the fittest person
This year the event is sponsored by Gold Sponsors Intra-Mind and Lure Living and bronze sponsor Zest Health and Wellness. With rising costs, the sponsorship contributions have helped to keep the registration cost the same - $25 which includes an event t-shirt (while stocks last), morning tea at Lammermoor Beach and a BBQ cooked by the Mr Perfect Crew upon completion of the walk at Kemp Beach picnic area.
Our local Firefighters will be on hand once again to man the water station at Ross Creek and to assist with any tricky traffic crossings along the way.
We are humbled by the community support that we continue to receive in order to help bring this event. The Capricorn Coast is such an idyllic sight at this time of year and it’s a great time to get out and enjoy some fresh air before summer is upon us.
You can register online at https://bit.ly/registrationwalkforwellbeing
Registrations will be accepted on the day, however for catering purposes it would be fantastic to know numbers so that we can arrange adequate supplies If you would like to support the event but don’t wish to walk, we have some jobs that require volunteers still including – check in desk, assisting with serving morning tea, transportation back from Kemp Hill and photography If you are able to assist with any of these, please email walkforwellbeingcapricorncoast@gmail com
Your help helps us to make this a great event for all!
Iconic local photographer Lesley Blom of Aislinn Photo Art is well-known in our community for her knack of taking beautiful pictures. A series of personal events and circumstances over the past couple of years have led her on a mission to finding more purpose and fulfillment in her work, yet at a slower pace
A strong desire to connect with other women has set her on a path to find a way to help more local women embrace their inner warrior “I have felt an overwhelming need for many years to connect with other women I truly believe that the only way to encourage happiness is through connection To see that other women have similar struggles in life, whether it’s raising kids or looking after ageing parents, the struggle with peri-menopause (oh my god!) or just a wondering of what life’s all about, it somehow helps to know you are not alone Life Sometimes it’s hard and instead of pushing this feeling down, wouldn’t it be incredible to lighten our load by spending time with like-minded women?” she shares in a post with her Instagram followers.
WARRIOR is Lesley’s latest offering and celebrates the changes that women go through in life as they experience obstacles and heartbreak, love and triumphs In order to honour that journey with all, the aim is to help you celebrate all that you are, right here, right now “Laughter lines, weight gain/loss, silver hair, all of it We have got to keep standing up and
realising how powerful we really are I can’t believe how much wisdom comes with age It is truly incredible All the fluff we once anguished over; it is all meaningless
“Those scars you have accumulated are the markings of a warrior”

Everything is electric. We are fundamentally electromagnetic and vibrational. Like fish in the water, we are always swimming in a vast ocean of energy. Everything around us is frequency and energy. Your body is a self-tuning instrument.
Just as we use a tuning for to tune a piano, I use it as a therapy to help clients find places of dissonance and resistance. We have bits of stuck energy that is left over from something that perturbed us somewhere in our life and it continues to affect us. Whether we are conscious of it or not. In the process the energy flow that has been trapped in that part of the field is able to release, and the fork acts as a magnet to drag it back into the body to heal. I have been delightfully amazed at the information I pick up and transmute for my clients People say they feel lighter and have felt relieved with removing the blockages and pain
Your monthly guide to what's happening in the astrological world
October 15th welcomes the New Moon in the Cardinal Air sign of LIBRA!
At 3:55am AEST the new moon is exact bur a few minutes earlier at 3:49am we also have a solar eclipse.
This is a potent New Moon so lets use this intense Libra energy to our advantage!
Libra is the sign of relating, harmony and our negotiating skills
Libra is represented by the scales of justice, how can we bring more balance into our lives?
Libra also reminds us that we can’t find harmony in our relationships if we don’t feel in balance with ourselves
This is a great time to look at your relationship to yourself and your own needs and desires within your relationships. As always, the New Moon represents a time of new beginnings and planting seeds of intention, What do you want in your relationships?
This includes Romantic relationships, business partners, family and close friendships
The solar eclipse brings in some karmic alignment if it is needed so don’t be afraid to make room for what is meant to be in your life and release that which is not feeling balanced.
By Heidi Reeves Rising Sol AstrologyThis Libra/Aries axis is about embodying what it is you desire and mirroring that out to the world in order to bring that back into your life and relationships, be the energy you want to attract!
Be sure that you are Giving as well as receiving and develop that strong sense of self worth.
Have a look at what area of your chart Libra highlights to see where this may show up for you
Cardinal signs will feel this the deepest, Aries, Libra, Capricorn and Cancer Sun, Moon and Rising.
October 29th at 6:23am AEST sees the Full Moon in the earth sign of Taurus.
The Full Moon is a time of culmination and fulfilment of what was started on the New Moon, a time of fertilisation.
While Taurus is the sign of stability and needs a sense of security, be careful not to seek these things out in a material fashion as it will not fill that void. It is time to accept change as a part of life as the Sun in the opposite sign of Scorpio is calling for transformation!
This Full Moon brings with it a partial solar eclipse at 6:14am AEST and the last on the Taurus/Scorpio axis so it is important to find the balance between these two energies Scorpio’s desire for complexities and mystery blending with the Taurus desire for simplicity and comfort.
It is time to work on what has been holding you back, where have you been playing small in order to remain comfortable?
This lunar eclipse may have a way of highlighting the dysfunctional areas of our lives and calling them into focus!
Ultimately though, with any form of change comes an opportunity for growth so lean in…. What you can you learn from recognising these old habits and how can you evolve in this process?
Fixed signs are feeling this one the most! Scorpio, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius sun/moon and risings
There has definitely been an increase in the popularity of elopement style weddings recently While they aren’t the choice for every couple, there are certainly some very sound reasons why you might consider an elopement over the more traditional, larger family gathering for a wedding celebration
An elopement is a small, intimate ceremony, usually with only the celebrant and a handful of guests in attendance Elopements are deeply personal, non-traditional and intentionally have a small guest list They are way more relaxed, less expensive, easier to plan in a short time frame, and likely will create much less stress on the day They are also intense, can be a little overwhelming emotionally and will likely bring on a few happy tears.
When you decide to elope, you can make your plans just for the two of you – no need to consider the comfort and wellbeing of any guests, particularly if you are wanting to make your promises in a remote or less accessible spot or at a time of day that works for you
Bring your photographer along and you’ll get stunning images to share with everyone afterwards
An elopement is all about the two of you You can include (or not) your own personal vows, music, readings and poems, wedding traditions and
rituals, I do’s and ring giving etc, without having to meet any expectations of your guests
Is an elopement a legal marriage? So long as you have an authorised celebrant and two witnesses present, yes!
If you have questions about getting married, I’d love to chat with you any time,
LeanneHello fellow wild food foragers, my name is Kimberly and I am the owner of Silver Sage Cottage I study edible plants in our local area for basic survival and fun It’s surprising the amount of wild food, medicine and useful plant resources that are available to us in nature I will be showcasing one, safe, easy to identify, wild edible plant each month I will provide a photo, a common name, a botanical name, some basic information about the plant and a recipe to try I forage and eat the plants showcased and know them to be safe, however I encourage you to do your own research and ensure that you have the correct plant before eating it
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for what you ingest, you are wholly responsible for your own safety If you are unsure, please feel free to contact me for help with identification at Silver Sage Cottage 0498076683
(Solanum lycopersicum L )
Hello again my wild food foraging friends, this month’s delicious little wild beauty is growing in paddocks and on creek banks all over our area right now I have been gorging myself on handfuls of their tasty ripe fruits lately
By Kimberly Patterson Silver Sage CottageLEAVES: young leaves can be eaten raw (bet you didn’t know that!); they have a strong herbal flavour so they are best combined with more robust flavoured foods. They blend well into rich soups and vibrant pesto’s with herbs like mint and basil They can be dried and used as a savoury herbal food sprinkle too
RIPE FRUITS: we all know and love the flavour and versatility of the humble tomato; they are edible both raw and cooked. They lend their flavour to salads, soups, stews, sauces and chutneys. They also dry and preserve well too They can be dried and crushed as a savoury tomato sprinkle for chips and crackers
NUTRITIONAL: packed full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals; Vitamins A, C and K, calcium, potassium, and folate.
MEDICINAL: Heart, eye and skin health, menopausal support and aid in blood clotting and wound healing.
As a therapist a big part of my job is taking the voodoo out of mental health. So, let’s chat depression!
Essentially depression happens when we run out of, let’s call them JOY neurochemicals. These joy neurochemicals in day-to-day life balance out the stress type neurochemicals, but unfortunately, we don’t have an endless supply of joy neurochemicals and they take time to build back up once depleted. Simplistically, depression is depletion.
Think of a car. You notice a little clunking sound, but the car still runs so you ignore it. Then over time the clunk gets a little louder and a rattle sound starts, and it shakes a bit, but the car still runs so you ignore it. Until eventually the car stops working and the engine needs major repairs. You take it to the mechanics; they fix it and then you follow the required maintenance The car continues to run smoothly because at the first clunking noise you get it fixed immediately
Depression works in a similar way to the car metaphor above There is warning ‘clunks’ in our life but we don’t recognise the signs until it’s too late The good news is if you go through it once, you can learn to recognise the clunks and develop your own personal wellbeing manual and it’s not a lifelong sentence Therapy is great for this Depression can happen to anyone – even Ferrari’s get clucks and need maintenance!
What does vulnerability look like to you? What do you think when you start to feel emotionally vulnerable? Do you embrace the feelings or reach for the nearest distraction?
There is a very big misunderstanding that being vulnerable emotionally means you are weak Are you familiar with expressions like, “Boys don’t cry ” and “Suck it up Sunshine” or maybe you have been told you are “overly sensitive”
I have observed in my years of working as a holistic therapist, people are either comfortable with their vulnerability or they are not. They either embrace their feelings and look for the personal growth or they fight against it, hide from it and push it down.
Sadly, western culture is very good at judgement. We label certain emotions and lifestyles as either weak or strong and put very rigid labels on people and their emotional processes. We have a tendency to celebrate people who appear to have wealth, physical health and success and are quick to criticise and ostracise people who find themselves in challenging times. We also have a tendency to align with acceptable challenges and not so acceptable challenges. Cancer verses drug addiction for example.
When we are uncomfortable with our emotions we try to numb them food, alcohol, television, social media etc.
By Katie Crews Coastal KinesiologyThis may be, because you have not been given the tools to navigate difficult emotions and therefore find it more comfortable to avoid them Whether it is your own emotions, your child, partner, friend or work mate, if you haven’t the emotional maturity and life experience you will feel overwhelmed
When we judge people as weak, it is usually because we have not come to terms with our own emotions and wounding We lack compassion towards ourselves and our own unprocessed feelings so we judge other people harshly based on the discomfort they are mirroring back to us. This judgement comes from a place of pride. Pride is a mask to cover vulnerability, it is a false state created to cover up our shame, guilt, grief and anger that we have yet to explore and heal.
It can feel frustrating to witness someone stuck in an emotional process. When you see them going around and around the same feelings, coming up against the same issues repeatedly. Your frustration only comes from the discomfort this brings to you. You can
choose to offer support and guidance or you can choose to step away and let the person have their own experience in their own time.
it
So how can we start to create a better relationship with our emotions and vulnerability?
Firstly, let’s keep the word weak where it belongs Weak means, lacking the power to perform physically demanding tasks, having little physical strength or energy. So, if you have had the flu and have not eaten for a few days you would be feeling “weak” If you are strength training and you haven’t trained for a few weeks, you may feel weaker than you did a few weeks ago
When we start to apply weak to people’s personality, character and actions we are walking in the territory of shaming and judgment. This potentially causes more damage, hurting people and creating division. As always, if you find yourself judging someone harshly, it is time to self-reflect as to why that person is creating these thoughts and feelings for you.
Secondly, let’s start to explore what can be done when we or someone around us is experiencing challenging emotions. If they are struggling and hit a wall of emotion, how can we support them? Do they need words of encouragement, space or silent support? By taking a calm and gentle approach
we can help them explore what they need to move through the emotions
I teach all my clients the feeling triangle It involves these 3 questions:
1. How are you feeling?
2 How do you want to feel?
3 What do you need?
These questions will help you or the person start to understand what they are feeling and how to overcome these feelings with some sort of action After each of these, just listen. If you feel overwhelmed suggest they reach out to a professional or someone they feel comfortable talking and sharing with.
1 Compare them to others There is no good tha comes from telling people about others who are worse off than them to attempt to get them to “get over it”
2. Grill them with a lot of questions. Chances are they won’t have the answers and you will just overwhelm them further.
3 Offer solutions and problem solving, unless they are paying you and you are educated on the topic they have come to you for
4
Push them for a result, or to make a change
This will only stress them more and alienate them
Finally, if we allow ourselves and others more compassion, love and support. Chances are the emotional process will flow more quickly. When we feel safe from judgement our body relaxes and we can process our feelings faster and usually have a greater understanding of why we feel that way.
Vulnerability is an invitation to explore our beliefs and emotions. Weak is for muscles and cups of tea
