Soldiers with the North Carolina National Guard hosted the U.S.A. 15 and Under Baseball Team at the 449th Theater Aviation Brigades Headquarters in Morrisville on July 22, 2016. The players learned about teamwork from NCNG leaders and had a chance to interact with Soldiers, trying on their equipment and sitting in some of the helicopters housed at the unit. The North Carolina National Guard supported the American Legion Baseball World Series in Shelby on August 14, 2016 with a color guard and static displays to help the series celebrate their Veterans Appreciation Day. The color guard was provided by the NCNG’s 878th Engineer Company and performed at all three of the day’s games. Military vehicles were staged outside where baseball fans could learn more about how the NCNG supports both federal and state missions.
