Soldiers with the North Carolina National Guard hosted the U.S.A. 15 and Under Baseball Team at the 449th Theater Aviation Brigades Headquarters in Morrisville on July 22, 2016. The players learned about teamwork from NCNG leaders and had a chance to interact with Soldiers, trying on their equipment and sitting in some of the helicopters housed at the unit. The team went on to play in the World Baseball and Softball Confederation World Cup in Iwaki, Japan.

The North Carolina National Guard supported the American Legion Baseball World Series in Shelby on August 14, 2016 with a color guard and static displays to help the series celebrate their Veterans Appreciation Day. The color guard was provided by the NCNGâ€™s 878th Engineer Company and performed at all three of the dayâ€™s games. Military vehicles were staged outside where baseball fans could learn more about how the NCNG supports both federal and state missions.

More than 30 Soldiers from the Republic of Moldova boarded a West Virginia Air National Guard C-17 leaving the Raleigh-Durham Airport on September 22, 2016 after spending a week training with Soldiers of the North Carolina National Guard. The plane was loaded with 27 pallets of medical supplies and equipment, and 6 pallets of classroom materials also heading for Moldova. The supplies were donated from several NC organizations and coordinated through Secretary of State, Elaine F. Marshall. Click here to see more photos! 10
