Boredom Busters

We know Midwest winters can get long and cold, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do around the Sioux Empire! As your local parenting resource guide, we have some great winter boredom busters for you and your family.

If you have little ones at home, you know they have a lot of energy that needs to go somewhere...after being stuck inside for a couple of days, everyone is ready to burn some of that extra energy! Take advantage of places that have programs designated for toddlers, like All American Gymnastics Academy and their Little All-Star program or check out Friday Family Fun Night with the whole family.

Even though the white stuff is coating the grounds outside, you can still play in the water this winter at the Midco Aquatic Center. There are multiple pools to keep everyone in the family happy and with fun events happening all the time, there’s sure to be a place in the water for everyone’s needs!

The Museum of Visual Materials is another great option for letting those little ones burn off some energy. Open play times are a wonderful option for little ones who need an area to let their creative juices flow!

When the sun is shining and temperatures are mild, everybody loves a little outdoor time. We are fortunate to have great skiing, tubing, and snowboarding with Great Bear Ski Valley right here in Sioux Falls where you can gather the family and make a day of hitting the slopes! If you aren’t in the mood for skiing, be sure to check out all Sioux Falls Parks and Rec has to offer. Parks all over Sioux Falls offer many opportunities to spend time together as a family...from sledding hills to ice skating, there is something for everyone!
