Over Thanksgiving break, 11 year old Jacek Jureczki took his first black buck in Bandera, Texas on his greatgrandfather's land. Jacek dropped his buck with one shot from 328 yards away!
Jacek is the son of Mandy Mahon of Hamshire. Proud grandparents are Pete and Debbie Mahon of Hamshire, and Phillip and Carolyn Jureczki of Mont Belvieu.
By Wade Thibodeaux The rough stock events of the Junior World Finals rodeo was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, December 2, 2021 through Monday, December 6, 2021. The event was held in the Las Vegas Convention Center with bull riding, bareback, and saddle bronc categories. The youngsters were divided into four different groups by age with Rookie being the youngest,
followed by Junior, Senior, and Novice. Winnie had a few representatives in the three events, but 11 year old Tucker Cart who had previously won the all around title at the event was the only one who received an award. Tucker was the Reserve World Champion in the Rookie Division of the Saddle Bronc while older brother Ethan Cart was bucked off of both of his horses.

and placement in the funeral home until his final internment on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 2021 in Fairview Cemetery. The plane arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport
and a Navy Honor Guard received the casket and placed it into the hearse where an entourage led by Chambers County Sheriff's Office escorted Seaman Saunders to Winnie. Once in Winnie, Seaman Saunders was driven through a large group of citizens who lined the highway to pay respect to the fallen seaman. The crowd was waving flags as the hearse passed on it's way to the funeral home. Once in Winnie, Seaman Saunders was placed in the chapel at Broussard's where he awaited final internment at Fairview Cemetery some eighty years after he lost his life in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941.

A Navy Honor Guard retrieves Seaman Saunders from the plane last Thursday before he was transported to Winnie for burial.
