The East Chambers Lady Bucs golf team competed at the regional tournament on April 2122, 2021 and shot a 522
as a team the first day and Winnie Dodge buys the Grand Champion Chambers County Steer at last Saturday's Youth Auction. then a 531 on the second round. Congratulations Lady Bucs on a great year.
Winnie Library Holds Ribbon Cutting
A ribbon cutting was held for the new library in Winnie last Monday.
By Wade Thibodeaux The Juanita Hargraves Memorial Branch of the Chambers County Library held a ribbon cutting last Monday, May 3, 2021 and they are open for business. They are located along State Highway 124 adjacent to the East Chambers Primary School and across Fear Road from the newly constructed East Chambers Elementary School. This makes the second newly constructed library for Chambers County in the last five years. Chambers County Librarian Valerie Jensen stated "Libraries are central to our community, and to have new, state of
the art facilities with quality programs and spaces makes them even more inviting! The new library in Winnie includes a meeting room which will be available for reservation by the public, and a room designated for storytime and after school programs". Starting May 4, all library system branches will be open 100% to the public. The library will still comply with safety protocols by having staff/public do health screenings upon entry. Masks are encouraged, and social distancing required. Books that are returned will be quarantined for one week.
The pig show was as competitive this year as it is every year at the Chambers County Youth Livestock Show.
