Anahuac Group Donates to Fire Departments By Wade Thibodeaux  The Anahuac Emergency Corp was a group of volunteers that provided emergency medical services to the Anahuac area. When Chambers County decided to get into the EMS business and absorbed Anahuac and the Trinity Bay EMS

R e e n l i s t m ent C erem on y Held at S c h o o l B oard Meeting Area Fire Departments Respond to Grass Fire By Wade Thibodeaux  Area Fire Departments responded to a rather large grass fire last Tuesday, February 2, 2021 during the mid afternoon hours in the 800 block of Fm 1406 West. The fire had spread to neighbors on both sides and was somewhat difficult to get to with equipment due to the terrain and the lack of accessible roadways. Most of the firefighting

had to be done by hand and with smaller all terrain vehicles and brush trucks in some areas. Departments responding included Chambers County Emergency Services District No.1, Winnie Stowell VFD, Hankamer VFD, Wallisville VFD, Anahuac VFD, Smith Point VFD, and Oak Island/Double Bayou VFD.

Small all terrain vehicles had to be used to gain access to a grass fire last Tuesday.
