With virtually no light pollution, Trout Point Lodge is blessed with some of the darkest night skies in North America. In 2014, this luxury resort was recognized as the world’s first Starlight Hotel, certified by the UNESCO-backed Starlight Foundation. Their stargazing platform is in a riverside meadow and away from the surrounding forest, to offer guests unobstructed 360-degree views of the sky. They have an astronomer on staff that conducts nightly stargazing excursions with advanced telescopic equipment. On a clear night, you can even see the rings of Jupiter!

To match the wild beauty that surrounds them, Trout Point Lodge’s culinary team creates unforgettable dining experiences highlighting the freshest seasonal local flavors. Trout Point’s kitchen was the first restaurant in Canada to receive international recognition for its sustainability, with the award of a Three Star rating from the UK-based Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) in 2013 (Michelin equivalent for sustainability). They feature gourmet 4-course table d’hôte dinners that change every day, based on the best produce of the day or what was foraged from the forest.

They have an excellent wine program and have received Wine Spectator’s Award for Excellence since 2009. Culinary classes with their Executive Chef or Sous Chef are also available for the culinary enthusiasts. →

Positioned so that every suite boasts water views, Trout Point allows you to forget the cares of the outside world and truly unwind. All suites feature premium Frette linens, L’Occitane amenities, 4-piece ensuite bathroom, some with a fireplace, woodstove, separate bath and shower and a balcony or deck. There are only 11 guest suites and a 2-bedroom cottage, so it never feels crowded and the service is highly personalized.
