Tucked away in White Bear Lake is a secret known to some. The lucky few know him as a former football and hockey coach in White Bear Lake. Some are lucky enough to call him a friend! We’re one of the lucky ones here at the Holmes Group as we’ve been honored to be working with Bob Adamson for many years now.

As a former custom home builder and owner of Robert Homes, Bob got his start in White Bear Lake in 1982 and built a home for he and his family. A growing family needed a larger home and Bob’s ambitions as a builder took off. He purchased about 20 acres of lake shore on the east side of Otter Lake in Lino Lakes. Developing that neighborhood and building 6 homes on Otter Lake – Bob was off and running. From the early 80’s through the mid-2000’s, Bob built several small neighborhoods through White Bear Lake, Mahtomedi & Hugo along with several one of a kind homes.

Today you can find him remodeling a home with his family or tinkering on a house for his kids. There’s always something to do and there’s no shortage of stories and nostalgia that come with it. It’s been a pleasure to work with him over the years and in this edition we’re going to celebrate his signature Adamson Style & Design.

We recently listed this home for $875,000 and had 4 offers in the opening weekend. What a tribute to this beautiful home! This was a custom remodel project for Bob’s brother and sister-in-law with a great story behind it.

A long search brought Dick & Mary Adamson to the shores of the Mississippi in 2007. Bob was excited to show them this one-story home in Sartell and the ‘vision’ he had for them. Armed with a roll of painters tape and his imagination, he walked the home and taped out all the changes he wanted to make – vaulting the entry, expanding roof lines, changing the main floor layout, creating a 2nd master suite and so on. Dick and Mary saw the vision and went for it creating this 3,000 square foot main floor estate with panoramic views and Mississippi shoreline.

Just north of County Rd E on Bellaire Ave in White Bear lies Bellaire Estates. Built in 2005, this is a development of 8 side by side single level townhomes. Each had different custom features ranging from walkout basements, rounded windows, bar & entertainment areas and more.

The design was ahead of its time with main floor living boasting an array of custom features and an association to take care of the exterior. Perfect for those wanting easy living and quick access to all things White Bear Lake – this neighborhood is still sought after today.

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and the Adamson Family is a great example. Son Garrett Adamson picked up on the family talent and remodels homes in addition to other real estate ventures. This project of Garrett’s in White Bear Lake sold at the beginning of 2020 and could only imagine the price today – just a year later.
