Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre is supervised for the safety, enjoyment, and comfort of patrons in accordance with relevant safety guidelines.
1) Children under 10 years of age are to be accompanied and closely supervised by a responsible adult 16 years or older at all times. Children unaccompanied by an adult may be prevented from entry at the discretion of staff.
2) Children under 6 years of age are to be within arms reach of their parent or guardian at all times.
3) Patrons must follow the instructions given by staff at all times.
4) An entry fee applies to all who wish to enter the premises.
5) Paid or unpaid personal training or swimming tuition in the centre is not permitted. Anyone wishing to coach or instruct on the premises is required to have prior written permission from centre management.
6) All swimmers must exit the water 15 minutes prior to the advertised closing time.
7) A person shall not, by act or omission, behave in any way which is likely to cause damage to, cause disorder within, deface or pollute the public bathing place or cause a loss or injury to council, its servants or to any other person.
8) Patrons are encouraged to shower before entering the pool.
9) No abusive, offensive, or disruptive behaviour or language.
10) Articles of clothing such as cut-off jeans, T-shirts, bike pants, leotards and casual wear is strictly prohibited in the pools, spa, steam & sauna areas. Only recognised swimwear, made from lycra and nylon is to be worn in the pools, spa, steam, and sauna areas.
11) No running, pushing, backflips, bombing or holding breath underwater for competitions. Diving is only permitted where the depth of the pool is greater than 1.2metres (please seek advice from pool lifeguards for clarification).
12) No animals, (Guide Dogs accepted), drugs, alcohol, glass, or porcelain allowed inside the facility. Banned items such as, but not limited to bikes, scooters, skateboards, and any type of ball are not permitted on the premises.
13) No smoking/vaping permitted in this centre or its surrounding car park.
14) The consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited within the Centre.
15) No eating or drinking in swimming pool or spa pool areas.
16) Littering is an offence, please use the garbage and recycling bins where provided.
17) Management takes no responsibility for personnel belongings; lockers are made available within the centre.
18) Patrons enter the centre at their own risk. By entering the centre Patrons accept that Council is not liable for loss or injury however caused, and consent to receiving any first aid treatment that the centre’s staff may reasonably consider necessary or desirable in the event they suffer and injury whilst at the centre.
19) Multi Visit Passes are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

20) Coaching or training must not be conducted for fee or reward without the prior permission of the Centre Management.
21) No photography, except with the permission of the subject and (the subject is under 18 years of age) their parent or guardian
22) The use of cameras and devices with cameras such as mobile phones is not permitted in change room areas.
23) Areas of the Centre are monitored 24 hours by CCTV.
24) The following is prohibited at all times in the centre:
- The consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited within the centre.
- Patrons are prohibited from bringing or having in their possession glass containers of any kind in the centre.
- The Aquatic Centre is a no smoking venue.
- Littering is an offence, please use the garbage and recycling bins where provided.
- No eating or drinking in swimming pool or spa pool areas.
Abusivedisruptiveoroffensivebehaviourandlanguagearenotpermitted. OffenderswillberemovedfromtheCentre.Managementreservestherightto askanypatronwhodoesnotobeysignage,thedirectivesofstaff,orConditions ofUseandEntrytoleavethefacilityandfurtherentrymayberefused.
The following supervision guideline are implemented in this Centre.
Parents and guardians must always actively supervise their children and be dressed ready to enter a pool
o 0–6 year oldsand non-swimmers, a parent or guardian needs to be in the water at all times and within arms' reach of the child. It is best if you are engaging with your child i.e., playing with them, talking to them.
▪ All under 6's will be issued with a wrist band upon entry regardless of whether they are attending the centre’s for Swim School or casual swimming. Wrist bands highlight this age groups to Lifeguards as high risk and in need of close parental supervision.
o 6–10 years, Constant active supervision is required for children. Parents and carers must be prepared to enter the water with this age group.
▪ Children 10 years and under are not allowed entry unless under active supervision by a person 16 years or older
o 11–14 years, regularly check on their child by physically going to where they are in or around the water.
▪ Although eligible to attend the centre unsupervised. it is recommended that parents attend the centre with them.
