In the heart of south central Indiana, Beacon stan symbol of hope for individuals grappling with ext poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to honor eve person’s fundamental right to sustenance, a safe quality healthcare, and meaningful work.

With a steadfast commitment to values like hosp y dignity, empowerment, and hope, Beacon extends its reach beyond the margins, welcoming all into a safe and nurturing space.

As the largest nonprofit housing provider in Monroe County, Beacon plays a pivotal role in addressing the pressing needs of our community.

However, the challenges we face require a bold and innovative approach.

With nearly 350 people, including families with children, experiencing homelessness on any given day in Bloomington and Monroe County, the need for comprehensive support for these individuals has never been more urgent.

Now, more than ever, we must come together to address this growing need in our community. Beacon offers you a transformative opportunity to light the path toward a brighter future for all.

Rev. Forrest Gilmore Unitarian Universalist Minister and the Executive Director of Beacon, Inc., a solutions-driven organization in Bloomington for people experiencing extreme poverty.

The proposed new Beacon Center will be located on West Third Street on the old Weddle Brothers Building Group site across the street from Rose Hill Cemetery.

The new Beacon Center will provide and manage five key programs of service to our community: Shalom Center Street Outreach Phil’s Kitchen Friend’s Place Rapid Re-housing Long-term Housing.

How do you make a pledge?

Pledge forms will be available at our potluck event

Pledges can be paid over a 5-year period of time

So, a $5,000 pledge is . . . $1000/yr, or $250/quarter, or $83.33/month

You are not obligated to give You may give at any level you wish (see the backside of your pledge form)
