Disney ‘Queen of Katwe’ Actress Nikita Pearl Waligwa Dies at 15 Actress Nikita Pearl Waligwa of the 2016 Disney film “Queen of Katwe” died at 15 years of age from a brain tumor. The news came to light after Waligwa’s school, Gayaza High School, took to Twitter to announce the news, with co-stars Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo paying their respects on social media.
Cruise Passengers Infected with Coronavirus About one in eight passengers on the Diamond Princess ship were infected with coronavirus, and hundreds of Americans on the ship landed in the United States on Monday. Of these passengers, 14 tested positive for the virus. The infected passengers were allowed on the repatriation flights in a last-minute decision.

Dartmouth During his tenure as provost of the University of Michigan, now-Dartmouth College President Philip J. Hanlon promoted a colleague despite being aware of allegations of sexual misconduct against the man, the Dartmouth reported Friday. Hanlon advanced the promotion of Martin Philbert to dean of Michigan’s School of Public Health in 2010, even though university officials knew of at least three complaints against Philbert. Michigan placed Philbert — who was appointed to Hanlon’s former position as provost in 2017 — on administrative leave Jan. 22, after more than 20 women accused him of sexual misconduct.
columbia New York police arrested a 14-year-old suspect for the murder of Barnard freshman Tessa Majors last December, the Columbia Daily Spectator reported Saturday. The suspect was indicted on two counts of second degree murder and multiple counts of robbery and will be tried as an adult as required by law. A 13-year-old was also arrested in December and is being charged with felony murder in the New York Family Court. Members of the community have voiced concern about the lack of proper due process, drawing comparisons to the “Central Park Five” case.
yale Yale College startup Kiki Air has started delivering candy, snacks, and essential items by drone to students at specific locations around campus as part of its beta-testing period, the Yale Daily News reported Monday. One of the Kiki Air drones fell on Library Walk Thursday, but no injuries were reported. The incident prompted the company to update drop-off locations and provide pilots with more extensive training. Kiki Air has been selected for Silicon Valley’s prestigious Y Combinator startup accelerator and will receive a $150,000 grant this summer.
