BROWN A student found a swastika scribbled in pen on the wall of his dormitory Tuesday evening, according to The Brown Daily Herald. After his friend covered up the graffiti with a yellow paper star, the students reported the incident to the Department of Public Safety. The swastika was removed by Facilities Management. It was also reported to and documented by DPS and the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity. The swastika was not the first incident of hateful graffiti in the dormitory, Hegeman Hall, this academic year. More than 15 homophobic graffiti incidents have been reported since late November. The incidents spurred an ongoing hate crime investigation by DPS.
