For more than 30 years, STOMP has been redefining what live performance can be, and February 20-22 the international sensation returns to Worcester as part of our 25/26 Broadway Series.

Created in Brighton, UK, by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, STOMP blends percussion, movement, and visual comedy into a thrilling theatrical experience.

Using everyday objects like brooms, garbage cans, matchboxes, and hubcaps, these performers transform the ordinary into something truly exhilarating. As The Advertiser (Adelaide) puts it, “STOMP presents pop art for the ears, rhythm for the eyes, theatre for the feet.”

After drumming up attention and acclaim in the 1990s, STOMP grew into longrunning theatrical productions, including 15 years in London’s West End, a 29-year run at New York’s Orpheum Theatre, and a North American Tour that has been electrifying audiences for 30 years. The power of the show speaks to all ages and cultures without a single spoken word, and has now been performed in more than 350 cities across 36 countries worldwide.

Along the way, STOMP has appeared at the Academy Awards, performed at Carnegie Hall, collaborated with Sesame Street, and earned prestigious honors including an Olivier Award, an Obie Award, and a Drama Desk Award.

What keeps audiences coming back is the show’s joyful inventiveness and infectious energy. STOMP is playful, explosive, and endlessly surprising, an unforgettable celebration of rhythm and movement. From its very first production, created in the then unfinished BrickBox Theater, THT Rep has delivered bold, high-quality theatre by reinventing classics, staging brand new works, and peopling the stage with casts that reflect Worcester's diversity.

THT Rep's 25/26 season deepens an unwavering commitment to challenging convention. January 28 -February 14, break out your leather jackets and neon for a queer reimagining of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Set in "The Wood," a vibrant 1980s pop punk club, this electrifying production invites you to rock out with us.

April 8-19, meet icon Eartha Kitt in the vulnerable and entrancing one-woman show, Who Is Eartha Mae?. Accompanied by live piano, it is guaranteed to leave you singing “C’est si bon.”

The 25/26 season is both a celebration of how far we have come and an invitation to join us as we continue shaping the future of live performance together.

Cirque Kalabanté

Gravity-defying moves inspired by daily life in Guinea

Inspired by daily life in the West African country of Guinea, Cirque Kalabanté’s Afrique en Cirque brings the beauty, youth, and artistry of African culture to our stage on February 18. This high-energy production features acrobats performing gravity-defying feats, all accompanied by the contemporary sounds of live Afro-Jazz, percussion, and kora.

With its vibrant scenery and costumes, the show radiates the strength, agility, and joy of young Africans. Its blend of movement, music, and storytelling offers a thrilling, deeply immersive experience that makes an exhilarating addition to our inaugural dance series.

Kalabanté Productions was created by Yamoussa Bangoura, a multidisciplinary artist of Guinean origin whose lifelong dream was to establish a circus arts school and lead his own company rooted in African artistic traditions.

Yamoussa’s fascination with circus began in the 1990s in Conakry, where he studied European performers on television and practiced movement on the beaches and dirt surrounding his home. He also drew from the Nyamakala tradition of circus, practiced by the Fula people of West Africa.

Yamoussa’s talent led him to join Guinea’s original circus company, Circus Baobab, touring across Africa and Europe. In the early 2000s, Yamoussa was recruited to go to Montreal with Cirque Éloize, later performing with Cirque du Soleil and Cavalia. In 2007, he founded Kalabanté Productions, bringing together many members of his extended family to build a company that celebrates African culture through truly extraordinary artistry.

Spaces are reserved for patrons who use wheelchairs and for their ambulatory companions. When purchasing tickets, please be sure to mention if any special accommodations are required, including low vision, hard of hearing, limited mobility, etc.

Assistive Listening Devices: Devices are available. Please inquire at the box office or conceirge desk. These cannot be reserved in advance, but the number of devices available should be sufficient for the usual demand. You will be asked to leave your driver’s license as a deposit.

Box Office Hours of Operation: (in person and by telephone) Regular hours are Monday Saturday, 12 PM - 6 PM. The box office is open limited hours on Sunday performance days. Tickets may be purchased online 24/7 at TheHanoverTheatre.org. By telephone, call the box office at 877.571.7469.

Cameras (Recording Devices): Recording devices are prohibited from use in the theatre, and offenders may be ejected without compensation.

Cell Phones: Out of respect to the performers and fellow audience members, please silence all cell phones while in the theatre.

Children: All patrons MUST have a valid ticket.

To allow all patrons to enjoy the show, children under the age of four are not permitted to attend THT performances unless they are designated as a family show. Please call the box office to see which shows are appropriate for younger children.

Concessions: Please do not bring outside food and drinks to the theatre. Snacks and beverages are available for sale in the lobby.

First Aid: Please speak with the house manager or any of the ushers if you need first aid or have any sort of accident or medical emergency.

Insurance regulations require that such instances be documented immediately.

Inclement Weather Policy: It is generally impossible for touring shows and performances to be rescheduled, so we do not cancel events due to inclement weather. As with other touring performances and sporting events, we are unable to refund tickets. In extreme weather conditions we will do our best to exchange subscriber, Flex package and member tickets to an alternate performance, if applicable.

To protect your purchase, the theatre strongly recommends that you add on ticket insurance at the time of ticket purchase through Booking Protect.

Lost and Found: Management is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Items found at the theatre will be held by the house manager. If you have lost an item, please contact the box office as soon as possible to make a report. You will then be contacted if the item has been found. Retrieval of the item is the responsibility of the customer. Items not claimed within 30 days will be donated or disposed of without compensation.

Security: Please also note that outside food and beverages, large bags, cameras and recording devices, weapons (including props/toys), projectiles, laser pointers, illegal and illicit drugs, posters, pets (except service animals), and any items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by management are not permitted. Persons exhibiting intoxication or drug use are also not permitted. At select performances, additional security measures may be in place, such as YONDR pouches for cell phones and other devices. Offenders may be removed from the theatre without compensation.

Resale of Tickets for Profit: Ticket holders may on occasion be in a position where they have purchased tickets that they later cannot personally use and will want to donate, give, trade or sell these tickets to friends or acquaintances. Management does not discourage private transactions of this nature.

However, we may take appropriate actions to thwart the organized resale of tickets for profit by third parties, which we do not condone. The public is advised to be careful purchasing tickets from individuals they do not know personally, as such tickets may be void and in such cases admission to the theatre will be denied without compensation.

Standing Room: All persons entering the theatre must have a valid ticket, and are not allowed to stand in the back or aisles.

WILLIAM T. PRATHER (Executive Producer) is the Executive Producer and Founder of APEX Touring. He is a second-generation theatre producer following in the footsteps of his parents, Tom and Debbie Prather, who produced live theatre for over 58 years. A graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, he returned to the family business in 1993 after spending a couple of years in the corporate world. At This Theatre The Hanover Theatre had its spectacular opening on March 14, 2008, with legendary Broadway star Bernadette Peters and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, after a $31 million restoration effort.

Originally opened in 1904 as the Franklin Square Theatre, this building had a storied run as a Broadway touring playhouse (including featuring celebrated French actress Sarah Bernhardt in 1906), then The Grand Theatre. In 1926, it was transformed into the opulent and luxurious Poli's Palace, a “Grand Movie Palace” showcasing vaudeville acts, silent films, and “talkies,” designed by renowned theatre architect Thomas W. Lamb. Eventually, this building became the Loew’s-Poli Theatre, and then a modern Showcase Cinema in 1973 playing blockbuster movies such as “STAR WARS,” “ALIEN,” “JAWS,” and many more until shutting its doors in 1998.

Since opening, The Hanover Theatre has been home to over 2,440 performances, 3 million visitors, 114 touring Broadway shows, 415 concerts, and 166 family programs on its stage.

Highlights include Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Ringo Starr, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, John Legend, Neil Young, Diana Ross, David Copperfield, Kevin James, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

The theatre’s most recent tenants include the Boston Pops, Jon Stewart, Pete Davidson, Sarah Brightman, and Broadway touring shows Dear Evan Hansen and Come From Away.
