It’s hard to believe that we opened The Hanover Theatre Conservatory for the Performing Arts almost one year ago. The past 12 months have brought with it hundreds of talented students and dozens of incredible master teaching artists. As we gear up for our winter-spring semester, we remain committed to utilizing our state-of-the-art conservatory spaces to CULTIVATE INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION, IGNITE CREATIVITY, and INSPIRE CONFIDENCE. Over the last year, we’re proud to have energized the downtown with hundreds of students taking classes six days a week. As we enter our second year, we will continue to offer our students unmatched experiences in the performing arts both in the classroom and with the national touring productions that visit our performing arts center throughout the season. Payments Payment may be made in full at the time of registration, or you may call the box office to arrange for two 50% payments. The Hanover Theatre Conservatory will work with families in need of additional payment installments, but this option will incur a 5% fee. Cancellations & Make-Up Classes When the conservatory cancels classes, they will be rescheduled. The Hanover Theatre Conservatory reserves the right to assign substitute teachers for group or private lessons without advance notification to parents and students. Every effort is made to operate classes on regularly scheduled days and times in order to avoid cancellations. Absences are not eligible for make-ups. Withdrawal & Refunds The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts has a final sale policy for all ticket purchases, tuition payments and fees. No refunds are issued for missed classes, schedule changes, class transfers, student withdrawals or students under disciplinary action. Requests to transfer or withdraw from classes must be submitted in writing to the conservatory for review and consideration to revise enrollment or allow pro-rated tuition credit. Approved tuition credits may be used for future classes only, and cannot be used for summer programs, tickets or other merchandise. Tuition credits expire if not used by the end of the following semester. Policies Students and parents (when applicable) must agree to The Hanover Theatre Conservatory policies and procedures in order to enroll in a class. Master Classes As a benefit of enrolling at the conservatory, students receive exclusive access to master classes with visiting artists. Please check our website for details regarding possible master classes with the following productions in the 2017-2018 season. Dress code Theatre & Music: Please wear clothing that is comfortable to move in and free of graphics and text. No dresses or skirts, please. Remove any jewelry that may hinder movement. For some classes with a musical theatre or dance focus, dance shoes may be required. Technical Theatre & Design: Traditional technical theatre dress code requires black attire. Jewelry and loose-fitting clothing that pose a danger or hazard while working with technical and design equipment are prohibited. Dance: Proper dance attire and neatness are required for all dance classes. All dancers must have their hair secured back and away from their faces. Jewelry is not permitted. Appropriate and properly fitted footwear must be worn for each class. Additional dress codes vary by class and level. See website for details.

Technical Theatre & Design Acting and Theatre Adult Acting I (Ages 18+) A course allowing adult theatre enthusiasts to explore acting exercises as well as comedic and dramatic scene work. You’re never too old to step into the spotlight! Schedule: One 90 min. class/week Instructor: Edward Wierzbicki Times: Thursdays 7 PM – 8:30 PM OR Fridays 11 AM – 12:30 PM Dates: January 11 – May 3 (15 Weeks) Tuition: $450

Adult Acting ll Performance (Ages 18+) Prerequisite: Adult Acting I & II or permission from instructorAfter completing a semester of Adult Acting II, students collaborate on short scenes or oneact plays to engage their acting skills. An informal presentation will be done at the end of the semester. Sound Design I (Teens & Adults) The course is a beginner’s introduction to audio, intended for the novice who wishes to learn basic audio terminology, functionality of components, design, set up and operation of a basic sound system. iPad is required for this class. Schedule: One 90 min. class/week Instructor: Nick Joyce Times: Mondays 5 PM – 6:30 PM Dates: January 8 – March 19 (10 weeks) Tuition: $375 Lighting I (Teens & Adults) Students are introduced to the vast array of lighting instruments available today and the role each type of fixture plays in entertainment lighting. Atmospheric effects, fixture accessories and expendables (gels and patterns) will also be explored in how they can augment the use of the lighting element. Dimming, control and safety protocols for hang and focus will also be reviewed. Students must bring an 8” adjustable (Crescent) wrench to class. Adult Tap Beginner I (Ages 18+) Whether you’re a beginner or just want to brush up on your skills, this fun and vibrant class is for you. Tap is an exciting and challenging art form that developed out of African polyrhythms in America’s Jazz Age. Elements of classic and Broadwaystyle tap will be taught. The form’s musicality

West African Dance (Teens & Adults) Presented in partnership with Crocodile River Music, students will move their bodies to the high energy music of West Africa. They’ll learn principles of rhythm, fundamental movements and the ancient stories behind the dances and rhythms of Mali. The dance classes will be accompanied by live drums. Schedule: One 60 min. class/week Instructor: Crocodile River Music Times: Thursdays 6 PM – 7 PM Dates: January 11 – May 3 (15 Weeks) Tuition: $375 Zumba® (Ages 18+) The class that started the dance-fitness revolution and changed the way we look at a “workout” forever. Zumba® mixes low-intensity and highintensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Music Adult Tap Beginner II (Ages 18+) Intended for adults who’ve completed Beginner I or have prior tap experience. Students progress in classic and Broadway-style tap while advancing their fundamental skills and learning increasingly intricate progressions. Tap shoes required. Music Offerings (Infants-age 5, with caregiver) Presented in partnership with Pakachoag Music School children will bounce, sing, dance, jump, drum, tap, click, wiggle and gallop their way to the development of pitch, rhythm and musical awareness! Music Together® is a music and movement curriculum based on research that shows children learn best from active caregivers and a nonperformance based musical environment. Families receive a Winter Session 2017 Song Collection: Sticks songbook and CDs with the music learned in class so you can continue nurturing your child’s imaginative growth at home. Set the foundation for future musical study, or simply a great love of music. Schedule: One 45 min. class/week Instructor: Linnea Lyerly Times: Mondays 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM or Mondays 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM Dates: January 8 – March 12 (Winter ‘2018 Songbook - Triangles) March 26 – June 4 (Spring 2018 Songbook - Bells) Tuition: $200 per 9-week session NOTE: Families are eligible for reduced tuition when enrolling multiple children. After first child is enrolled, tuition is $125 for a sibling, $50 for a third child.

Imaginative Play (Grades K-3) A class for little thespians to express themselves in a structured and supportive environment. Themes, characters and short stories will be brought to life using puppets, props and other theater techniques. Children will learn to use their imaginations to explore, solve problems and positively express their feelings.

In this community building class, students will use critical thinking skills, movement, writing and acting to guide their way to a completed piece by the end of the semester. Acting I (Grades 9-12) Young actors explore drama through improvisation, monologues and scene work. Students learn to build characters through choices, actions and emotions. Solo and ensemble work is explored. No singing required. New techniques, tools and products will be used to expand a student’s knowledge and experience in the world of stage makeup. Students are responsible for providing personal makeup and tools. A list of supplies will be provided.

Students will learn real world makeup techniques that they can use for the rest of their lives. Stage and special effects makeup will be explored. Create professional stage makeup for a variety of characters and roles while gaining knowledge of makeup materials, tools and techniques. Students are responsible for providing personal makeup and tools including a Ben Nye Crème personal kit in the appropriate skin tone. Students will learn how to properly record blocking, run rehearsals and tech, assemble a prompt binder, review safety skills and create paperwork and report templates. Tips for proper show “calling” will also be taught. A laptop or tablet is required for this class. Technical Theatre & Design Offerings

Intro to Technical Theatre (Grades 8-12) Being on stage may garner applause, but it’s what happens behind the scenes that truly creates magic in theatre. Students will be introduced to the many forms of stage craft (stage management, lighting, sound, costuming, etc.) and learn how they all connect to create one magnificent production. Understand the roles of directors and designers while learning how to speak “tech.”

Private Lessons

Private Lessons Private lessons in acting, voice and dance with any of our teaching staff can be arranged through Meghan Montaner, director of education, at 508.471.1793. Private Lesson Tuition $70/60 minutes* or $35/30 minutes* *Price may vary by instructor. If a student needs to cancel a lesson, 24-hour written notice must be given. The student can then reschedule the lesson within the semester. If 24-hour notice is not given, or a student does not show up for a lesson, no make-up lesson will be given. We are excited to announce dates for our 10th annual Youth Summer Program, offering programming for ages 6-8, 9-12 and 13-18. Children’s Program (Ages 6-8) Two Weeks: June 25th – July 6th (no classes on July 4) Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm The children’s program offers students, ages 6-8, opportunities to learn and explore in the world of musical theatre. Daily classes feature theatre games, dance combinations, music appreciation, singing, visual arts and much, much more. A showcase of student work will be held on the final day of the program. Tuition: $650 Pre-Teen Program (Ages 9-12) Two Weeks: July 30 – August 11 Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm The pre-teen program introduces students, ages 9-12, to the joy of participating in a show. Students work with a director, choreographer, and music director over the course of two weeks to present two performances of a junior production of a Broadway show at the end of the session. Tuition: $700 Teen Program (Ages 13-18) Three Weeks, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm Session I: July 9 – July 28 Session II: July 30 – August 18 Our teen program, now in its 10th year, offers students, ages 13-18, daily morning classes focusing on music, drama and dance as well as afternoon rehearsals for a final production. Two sessions will be offered. Students will present three performances of a full-scale Broadway musical at the end of each session on The Hanover Theatre’s mainstage. Tuition: $900
