• This acts like a giant, super-hot cosmic firework.

• The sun can hold planets in orbit because it uses an invisible force called gravity, acting like a giant anchor in space.
• The sun is big and heavy and that means more gravity. Having more gravity allows the sun to hold things farther away.
How The Sun Produces Light
• Nuclear reaction in the extremely hot core of the sun when atoms of hydrogen combine.
• This called nuclear fusion and relied on energy in the form of heat and light.
