Have the two of you talked about how much you love and adore one another lately? If not, you’re not alone. Busyness and neglect can take a big toll on your relationships. To combat that, plan a weekly or monthly date night so you can communicate more consistently. Evaluate, Adjust and Improve When you build a business, you stop frequently to evaluate progress and makes changes accordingly. Relationships work in very much the same way. Current measures to protect vets from drug abuse are indequate
The Government Accountability Office has found serious problems with the way the Department of Veterans Affairs handles controlled substances and guards against having those drugs stolen by VA employees. Out of four facilities the GAO was asked to review, one had missed its required monthly inspection of patient-care areas and the pharmacy 43 percent of the time. Three facilities failed to follow three of the nine requirements for handling controlled substances. Consider what happens when an addict pharmacy worker either takes or changes the drugs he or she is to deliver to a hospital ward or surgical unit. There was a case where an employee had been confiscating fentanyl (an anesthetic) destined for surgery patients and was using it for himself—while refilling the vials with saline solution. The GAO report concluded in part that the VA’s “ability to detect diversion and protect its veterans from harm—such as depriving them of needed pain medications—is limited.”

May 11, 1864 At the Battle of Yellow Tavern near Richmond, Virginia, a Union trooper fatally wounds Confederate Gen. J.E.B. Stuart, who dies the next day. Stuart’s leadership helped the Confederates maintain a superior cavalry force in Virginia for most of the war. May 12, 1932 More than two months after he was kidnapped, the body of aviation hero Charles Lindbergh’s 20-month old baby is found less than a mile from his family’s home in Hopewell, New Jersey. Although Lindbergh received two ransom notes, his son had been killed the night of the kidnapping. Over two years later, Richard Hauptmann is arrested.

TIP 1 Hang brooms and mops to preserve their useful life. The bristles of a tightly packed broom are better at sweeping than loose bristles. Mouthwatering Italian Cuisine You’ll Crave After the First Bite Little Sicily has been serving authentic Chicago-style Italian cuisine in the Northwest Valley for 10 years. Mike Faulisi and George Alaimo purchased Little Sicily from their friend and former owner Dominic Scafidi. George Alaimo moved to the U.S. from Sicily in the 1970s, and has been in the restaurant business ever since. “I remember walking past a pizza place when I was 12 years old, watching people throw pizza dough in the air, and thinking, ‘I want to do that.’ When I was 13, I went into that same pizza place and asked for a job, and soon was washing dishes. Making pizza is an art. I had to work my way up to that.” In addition to the many sandwiches and pizzas made at Little Sicily, the menu boasts authentic Italian pasta dishes and appetizers, as well as delicious desserts.
“The Cannoli is homemade and the Tiramisu is brought in fresh from Chicago,” says Alaimo. Among the other unique services available at Little Sicily, is BYOB (Bring your favorite wine and beer). Additionallly, Little Sicily loves to cater events. If you call at least 48 hours ahead, they will make a menu your friends rave about for days to come. SALSA ADDS SPICE TO SNAPPER Comfort foods made fast and healthy
If you’re looking for a way to change up your favorite fish recipe, try adding salsa! There are many different kinds you can try. Salsa roja is a red sauce meant to be served warm, usually over enchiladas. Salsa verde is a green sauce made with tomatillos. Salsa ranchera means “ranch style” and is typically made of tomatoes and chilies cooked together. There’s also salsa cruda or salsa fresca. You also can find commercially packaged salsas in a variety of flavors, including mango, peach and pineapple. The levels of heat of the salsas range from mild to fiery-hot.
This recipe for spicy Salsa Snapper serves eight and takes just 22 minutes to prepare and cook. Serve over angelhair pasta, rice or cous cous. It’s also delicious served on thick slices of toast that have been rubbed with a clove of garlic and brushed with olive oil. Ingredients • 2 pounds red snapper, cod or other lean fish fillets • 2 large tomatoes, chopped (2 cups) • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (1 cup) • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup) • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro or parsley • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1/2 cup Progresso chicken broth (from 32 oz. carton) Instructions 1. Cut fish fillets into 8 serving pieces. Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat skillet over medium heat. 2. Arrange fish in single layer in skillet. Cook uncovered 4 to 6 minutes, turning once, until fish flakes easily with fork. Remove fish to warm platter; keep warm. 3. Cook remaining ingredients except broth in skillet over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until bell pepper and onion are crisp-tender. Stir in broth; heat through. Spoon tomato mixture over fish.

You can travel with alcohol Even most frequent fliers don’t know about this helpful tip! It’s true—you can actually bring your own alcohol on the plane. Over your shock? Good, because it’s true. All you need to do is ensure that your bottles are 100 ml or less, and are kept in an 8-by-8-inch plastic storage bag. Just keep in mind that it is not legal to consume your own alcohol on a plane. You can bring it—you just can’t drink it. Ask to be upgraded Have you ever walked through an empty first class, only to have to sit in a packed coach section? Sure,
it’s frustrating, and it really shouldn’t happen, but sometimes there are booking errors made by the airlines. So, if you’ve ever wanted to experience the luxury treatment, just ask to be upgraded at the gate. You’ll be surprised by how often this works! If you don’t ask the answer will always be “no!” Carry an empty water bottle Buying a bottle of water after going through the security line is almost always ridiculously expensive. In fact, they’re often so pricey that it’s tempting to forgo water altogether, even though we all know that staying hydrated during air travel is essential. So, don’t buy water—get it for free! Bring an empty bottle with you and fill up in the terminal. Several airports are even starting to offer free filtered water. Just check near the restrooms and you may see one of these handy stations. Charge your phone in airplane mode Between looking up directions, restaurant reviews, and in some cases, the local language, we all end up using our phones quite a bit—and we need them to charge super fast! To do this, go to the “Settings” tab on your phone and select “Airplane Mode.” In some cases, your phone will end up charging twice as fast!

Five tips for protecting your grandchildren at your home
Even in the most safety-minded homes, serious hazards for children can be hiding in plain sight. Knowing which unexpected items can be risky, and what to do to prevent an accident, could change your grandchild’s future. Many grandparents know the top child proofing tasks to complete: covering electrical outlets, locking kitchen cabinets and securing baby gates on stairs. Other serious child safety hazards are often overlooked. Child safety advocates urge caregivers to address these five areas of risk: Windows Install cordless window coverings or those with inaccessible cords in homes with young children. Replace blinds, corded shades and draperies with items that are cordless or have inaccessible cords. To prevent falling accidents from windows, install windows that open from the top instead of from the
bottom. Window guards are also an excellent idea for multi-level homes Plants Make sure to keep these common but dangerous plants out of your child’s reach: Rhododendron, Lily of the Valley, Hydrangea, Poinsettia, Purple Nightshade, Mountain Laurel, Mistletoe and Water Hemlock. Cars Keep vehicles locked and keys out of reach of children. Even on a day when it’s only 72 degrees, the temperature inside a vehicle can increase by 30 to 40 degrees in an hour, and 70 percent of this increase occurs in the first 30 minutes. Furniture and TVs Heavy furniture and TVs can quickly become very top heavy with a curious, climbing child aboard. Anchor those items to prevent a toppling tragedy. Playgrounds Check before you play. Playgrounds with slides, swings, and other items that sit in direct sunlight can cause burns for children—even when it’s not that hot outside.
