Remembering Peter Brennan 1951 - 2025
Gifted musician and composer Peter Brennan founded the legendary Jeans ‘n Classics more than three decades ago, bringing all-time favourites to the stage performed by an epic rock symphony orchestra – an experience like none other in front of packed houses across the country and beyond. Leaving England as a child, Peter grew up in Campbellford, Ontario. He later moved to London, Ontario to study Music Composition and Theory at Western University, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in music. He toured extensively, played with countless bands, and produced numerous albums – but his greatest passion was Jeans ’n Classics, the musical project he founded in the early 1990s. For Peter, every performance was “the best gig ever” – every city the greatest, every orchestra the finest, every concert hall the most beautiful. That’s how he saw the world: through a lens of gratitude, wonder, and deep appreciation. While a highlight of his career was performing with the BBC Concert Orchestra and the band ABC at Royal Albert Hall in London, England, nothing meant more to him than returning to perform for the hometown crowd in London, Ontario. For over thirty years, these concerts and this audience held a special place in his heart.
THE LEGACY OF JEANS ’N CLASSICS Peter Brennan's Jeans 'n Classics has been a transformative force in orchestral music for over 30 years. By blending world-class rock musicians with symphonies, the ensemble has revolutionized the orchestral experience, helping orchestras reach a wider and more diverse audience. Jeans 'n Classics' innovative approach has engaged listeners across generations, from 25 to 85 years old, breathing new life into symphonic performances. At its core, Jeans 'n Classics is a collective of accomplished musicians who are deeply connected to both the rock and orchestral worlds. Their goal is to nurture and expand symphonic audiences, bringing in new fans while maintaining rich traditions. The band's dynamic arrangements bring a fresh perspective to classic rock and pop albums, offering reinterpretations that remain familiar yet distinctive, setting each performance apart. With 1,000 original orchestrations, Jeans 'n Classics has curated an impressive portfolio of 45 captivating productions, collaborating with over 100 orchestras across North America. Their orchestrations have received global acclaim for their lush, rock-infused arrangements that emphasize the orchestra’s rich tones while celebrating the energy of iconic rock songs. Jeans 'n Classics musicians are known for their exceptional professionalism and artistic finesse. Whether in rehearsal or on stage, their skillful performances consistently deliver unforgettable live experiences. As the group continues to shape the landscape of symphonic rock, its legacy of innovation and passion remains integral to the success and evolution of orchestral performances today.
