THIS IS OUR MOMENT TO GO FURTHER. With True Courage: The Campaign for Governor’s began with the most ambitious fundraising goal in the school’s history: $75 million. Over the past four years, more than 4,000 members of the Govs community – from around the world, in gifts of all sizes – have responded. Their generosity has been transformative.

Now we’re saying: Let’s go further. Thanks to a visionary challenge grant, we’ve set a bold new goal: $100 MILLION.

OUR CAMPAIGN HAS ALREADY HAD A DRAMATIC EFFECT. We’ve expanded the Peter Marshall French Student Center, built new faculty housing, deepened our commitment to financial aid and faculty excellence, and advanced our plans for a groundbreaking environmental studies center.

Inspired by our momentum, Bob ’67 and Anne Bass have established a matching gift challenge that sets our sights even higher. Now we aim to raise $100 million — a historic amount for a historic school — by the end of 2023.

By meeting the Bass Challenge, we’ll empower the Govs community in striking, sustainable new ways.

This is our moment to give students the rigor and support they need to go further. From the first page of their Junior Thesis to their senior year Chapel Talk, from conducting research in the Parker River to performing on stage in the Wilkie Center, our bright, bold, enterprising students will unlock their potential and achieve excellence.

This is our moment to give teachers the resources they need to go further — as role models and mentors, as advisors and coaches, as instructors and dorm parents, as professionals and as caring adults inspiring students to discover their promise and bring it fully to life.

This is our moment to become a leader in academic innovation, to build a hands-on teaching and research facility that takes advantage of our singular location and becomes a model for adventurous, rigorous learning, on campus and beyond.

ALFOND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES CENTER AND BASS INSTITUTE

We’ll design a national model of experiential learning.

With True Courage has already given form and substance to the Alfond Environmental Studies Center and Bass Institute, a state-of-the-art facility and program on the banks of the Parker River. Your support brings it fully to life. You’ll help our teachers develop rigorous programming and interdisciplinary curricula.

You’ll give students new opportunities to conduct field research and gain a greater sense of place. And you’ll empower Governor’s to use the Center and the Institute as a template for other academic areas, generating innovative intellectual experiences across the Governor’s curriculum.

FACULTY EXCELLENCE

We’ll cultivate our inspired and inspiring faculty.

Every Govs student and graduate can name adults at the school who, in ways small and large, changed their life for the better. The teacher who encouraged you to try a new class. The advisor who cheered for you from the sidelines. The dorm parent who saw the leader within you. Those relationships are the heart of Governor’s.

Your support ensures that our heart stays strong. You’ll expand our effort to recruit and retain the most talented faculty. Governor’s is an open, optimistic learning community. With True Courage has increased our ability to open Governor’s to students from a broad range of backgrounds. Your support helps us do even more. You’ll strengthen our endowment for financial aid, ensuring that all of our students can fulfill their potential and pursue their dreams.

THE GOVERNOR’S FUND

We’ll strengthen our engine of opportunity.

The Governor’s Fund is both a stabilizing force and a flexible tool.

It brings experts and leaders in a range of fields to campus — and it provides snacks to advisory meetings. It builds sets for theater productions, it takes students to museums and events in Boston, it takes teams and fans to game day at Brooks. Your unrestricted support makes Govs work, every day, every year. You’ll give Govs the freedom to adapt to new circumstances, meet new needs, and make bold plans. You’ll keep the school agile, responsive, and ready for what’s next.
