Once there were kids named Jilo and Jalo.

Their mom was busy doing other things.

So, they decided to go on an adventure!

They hiked up a mountain.

They went through the forest.
They had a lot of fun.

But getting back they didn’t have a plan.

First, they went a little long, and then they had a conflict.
They wanted to go two ways home, and it was hard for one of them to agree with the other.

WAY 1 WAY 2

And they decided to do half of one path and half of another.

BUT, the only thing was…

First, they had to wait and buy a ticket for the train station.

And then the train was too late and it didn’t come.
So they just walked across the tracks.

Right after that, the train came steaming through the station,

T R A I N

It accidentally took them past the route of what they needed to go through.
And the other one was mad. But he wasn’t really that mad, because he was more scared.
They drove all the way home, and then they passed it.
HOME

Then they drove alllll the way to Nassau.

NASSAU

And the s the train stopped, got boun into a roc

t here, Ji-Loasked,

Are we really in space?

At the moon!

Their ship was broken. They had to go find another ship.

They took it back home and then they were in the same exact spot where they were, but on the other course.

They had to walk through a volcano. And the weird thing was that it was a place where ancient animals were….
First, they faced an invisible dinosaur, which was very, VERY big but you couldn’t see it.

then there was a big rodactyl that could hold up a T-Rex!

They were so scared!

After that they were floating on a rock going down lava. It was thundering.
But when they got out they were on a nice log going down a stream.

It ocean, to out let the

but the ocean was miles away from where they were.

and they floated all the way to Hawaii.

And they took a plane back.

HOME

But the airport was kind of far away from their home, too.
So they decided to go up and ahead and take the subway.
When they got home, they were so tired and wanted some dinner. And the mom said,
Oh I’m so sorry kids, I do not have any dinner.

And then...

What was that?

said Jilo and Jalo.

It is a big, big, big meatball!

Then, Jilo looked out the window and said,

And everyone came running, admiring the meatball and it was in the backyard of their house.

And they opened the door to the backyard, and they started eating it

and eating a n d e a t i n g a n d e a t i n g . a n d e a t i n g . a n d e a t i n g .

After that, they were full, and they decided to go to bed.

The end. The end.

The GIANT Room A B O U T

The GIANT Room is a creative STEM hub for kids with GIANT dreams who dare to act on them. We help kids to use STEM as a tool for self expression, creativity, and collaboration.

The GIANT Room offers after school programs, camps, family events, specialized co-design workshops with industry designers, and online creative bootcamp membership. Kids may join our programs online, inperson at our studio, or off-site at one of our partner locations in museums and schools.

Founded by two women with PhDs in education and backgrounds in science and engineering, we dream of a world where every child has the confidence to voice their ideas, have access to mentors and resources they need to build prototypes of their ideas, and the opportunity to share those ideas with their community... just like the GIANT kid who published their collaborative, creative work in this beautiful storybook to be shared with millions of families around the world.
