A note about captions Peter Searle of the Falmouth History Archive very kindly helped Becky Boyd, Co-Curator of the exhibition, to identify work-based historical images we could use as inspiration for poems.

Unfortunately, when I formatted the pages of images and words to hang on the walls of the gallery, I made a few minor errors in the captions. Ideally, I would return to the original digital files and make amendments but I feel strangely reluctant to do so at this point in the proceedings. Instead, here are the notes Peter sent me for information. * p6 - George's Bakery was established in 1865 but the photo is nearer 1910 * p9 - this is a Falmouth Packet photo, courtesy of the Falmouth History Archive @ The Poly * p14 - as P6 above, and the line '100929' to 'P 028' can be deleted - this is a list of a series of images that doesn't apply to this photo * p17 - the line 'P 028 Webber' to 'Pie Shop' should be replaced by 'Mrs Bayliss's Pie Shop, 15 Webber Street' Copyright Notice © 2024 Alan Cummings.
