FULFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION By Joe and Karen Moderow We’re long-term supporters of Fuller. The seminary was ahead of the curve in breaking down denominational differences, and their commitment to build on what unites believers has paid dividends. Today, the collaborations Fuller fosters between churches and ministries are changing the world for Christ. Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) and the seminary’s students anchor Fuller’s mission. For this reason, we created two endowment funds—one supports scholarships, the other FYI. We also made a legacy gift in our estate plans. We give to Fuller for three reasons: sustainability, legacy, and multiplication. We look for places to give we feel will continue to be effective over the long haul. It’s important to us that the values we’ve held during our lifetimes be passed onto the next generation. We’re also concerned about multiplying our impact. There are only two of us, but Fuller can train an army of people. Each one has special gifts and calling that equip them to do what we cannot.
Karen graduated from Fuller in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology Our life calling and joy has been to fulfill the Great Commission—Go into all the world and preach the Gospel. We can’t think of a better way to do that than to give to Fuller, a place that will train leaders long after we’re gone. We invite you to join us in investing in Fuller’s mission. Alumni Spotlight
SUNITA PULEO, MA IN INTERCULTURAL STUDIES ’17
Sunita Puleo grew up in New York City and spent 25 years as a performer and presenter in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa, along with many years of creative direction and conference leadership. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from The American University in Washington, DC, prior to her Fuller master’s degree. As part of her master’s degree program, Sunita, a multicultural Indian American, focused on global arts and world religions. This serves her well in Chicago, where she and her family moved last fall. She is the city co-director for The Navigators, a Christian missions organization focused on evangelism and discipleship in various life arenas. She also started a company, Fuse Integrative Arts, that works internationally, virtually, and in the United States to bond people across cultural differences through the arts. She credits her Fuller experience with helping her navigate her current role. “My studies in missiology and ethno-doxology directly inform my day-to-day work,” she shared. “I’m so grateful for the wealth of classroom instruction, reading material, and mentorship I received at Fuller.”

During the past academic year, donors at all levels contributed to a thriving, more robust Fuller for our students, especially through their giving to scholarships. Faithful supporters provided scholarships totaling $6.3 million that benefited 2,005 students—65% of the seminary’s enrollment—in the seminary’s two schools, the School of Mission and Theology and the School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy.
Donors also helped our students go on to answer God’s call across the street and around the world. In churches, counseling centers, the business world, artistic endeavors, and so many other places, Fuller graduates are using their creative talents to help expand God’s kingdom on Earth.
