At Philly Friendship Circle, creating art together is a meaningful way for each friendship to “ express itself”, and for friends to encourage each other’s creativity. Creativity transcends obstacles. All of our youth’s unique pieces of pottery, sunlight creations, paintings, and beyond illustrate the deeply rooted nature of our Art Studio – hundreds of hours of preparation, one year in the making, culminating in our annual Art Show!

Our unique creative process also calls upon a greater depth in each artist, with prompts like... and “What fills you up?” “How are you a light in the world?”

Learning To Love A New Sport

Many of our Teen Leaders are student athletes. But in a sport that’s entirely new to them – wheelchair basketball – our Leaders experience a new way to play: Here, inclusion transcends all perceived limitations.

Each player’s physical differences are often visible on the court But once the game begins, it’s ONLY about their strength, passion, and endurance Veteran players welcome in first-timers and the beads of sweat pouring down from each player’s face tell us that this is as much a basketball game as any other

With an affiliation with the Magee Rehab Program, these talented athletes come from areas that are hours, and even states, away – and we are grateful they welcomed us to join them!
