The 2022–2023 Forman School Report on Annual Giving

Dear Forman Family and Friends: This year marks the beginning of several significant changes at Forman School. The most notable revolves around the announcement in January that Head of School Adam K. Man P’15 will retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.

Adam’s impact on Forman’s campus cannot be overstated. First and foremost, he and Beth have established a warm, family atmosphere that allows students to feel safe and supported during their time at Forman. From greeting students daily, leading Winterim programs, and welcoming them into their home for dinners and celebrations, the Mans continue the tradition of making students feel part of a Forman family.

Adam has also overseen the expansion of the campus. During his 16 years as Head of School, the campus itself has grown by more than 20 acres. Facilities such as the Science Center, Promethean Lab, Malcolm G. Chace Student Center, Lion’s Den Bistro, Visual and Performing Arts Center, and Jake Cloobeck ’16 Theater have been added to enhance the student experience. In addition, Adam has led the effort to build and purchase additional faculty housing so the school remains competitive in attracting and retaining quality educators.

Adam’s legacy will be cemented on campus with the addition of the new Cognition and Learning Building. Groundbreaking will be later this year, and the facility will become the academic centerpiece on campus. The school has ambitious goals for the new building, but ultimately, its impact will allow Forman to remain the leader in educating bright students who learn differently.

Ambitious projects like this require the support of alumni, parents, friends, faculty, and staff.

Your generosity over the years has allowed the school to achieve so much. The Annual Fund surpassed $1 million this year with increased levels of participation from all the school’s cohorts.

As Forman approaches its 100th anniversary, significant work still remains. Inflationary pressures impact education costs and transformational buildings aren’t built without financial support. Letter from Advancement Dear Forman Families, We send our very best to all of you, and on behalf of students, faculty, staff, and families, we thank you for your support and care of Forman in the 2022-2023 giving year. We are happy to report that our Annual Fund exceeded $1 million in supporting the needs of our programs and students. In addition to our Annual Fund, Forman’s Capital Giving and Endowed Funds continue to grow as several past and present parents have shown their generous support for upcoming capital initiatives. We are also proud to report that for another year, we have grown the number of givers, number of gifts, alumni participation, and current and past parent participation.

It is an exciting time at Forman as we celebrate 16 years of unbelievable growth under the leadership of our ninth Head of School, Adam K. Man P’15. In July, Adam will retire from Forman, leaving our school positioned as a one-of-a-kind leader in the world of education and neurodivergent learning. We are grateful to Adam and Beth for their leadership and for putting Forman in the strongest position for the future success of our school. We look forward to celebrating Adam and Beth as they close their chapter at Forman and thank them for their service to the students, families, and school.

In strengthening Forman’s future, we will be looking at a few capital initiatives over the next several years.

Our first initiative is to begin construction on our new Cognition and Learning Building this academic year.

This new building will have flexible learning spaces to meet the needs of future neurodivergent learning.

The building will also house the Forman Diagnostic Center, providing educational testing and student assessment in supporting learning profiles within the Forman community and beyond. The new Cognition and Learning Building will serve as a hub for research and collaboration with universities and educational organizations around the world. We welcome you to join us in supporting the Cognition and Learning Building, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.

Forman is in a strong position as a result of our community coming together and continuing to grow.

We sincerely thank each and every one of you for making that difference in the lives of the students and our Forman family. With that being said, we have much work to do ahead, and we are calling on our entire community to think of Forman in your annual giving.
