FERB has the right, among other remedies, either to terminate a purchase agreement or order or to suspend further performance with the Customer in the event the Customer fails to make any payment when due. Customer shall be liable for all expenses, including attorneys’ fees, relating to the collection of past-due amounts. If any payment owed to FERB is not paid when due, it shall bear interest at a rate of 12 percent per annum or the maximum rate permitted by law, if less than 12 percent, from the date on which it is due until it is paid. If, in good faith, FERB deems itself to be insecure with respect to Customer’s financial condition, FERB may require prepayments or other assurances for future deliveries. The Joy of Cooking Signed first trade edition of Irma S. Rombauer's cookbook, The Joy of Cooking, in the publisher's first state dust jacket.

Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1936. Octavo, 628pp. Plaid yellow cloth, title in brown and yellow on spine and front cover. Stated "Copyright 1931, 1936" on copyright page, no additional printings listed. Solid text block, a few faint stains and marks along edges, internally fine.

In the publisher's near fine dust jacket, light wear and a few short closed tears along top edge. The first state, with retail price of $2.75 listed on front flap, later changed to $2.50. (Mendelson 154) Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper "To Mrs. Jonas - with all good wishes and thanks for the encouragement she has given me. Cordially, Irma S. Rombauer."

Working without the help of an agent or legal counsel, Irma S. Rombauer signed a contract with Bobbs-Merrill assigning the copyright of both her 1931 original and the new 1936 edition to the firm. This copy, the first Bobbs-Merrill edition, altered the format of the recipes to introduce ingredients as they were used, to match the conversational tone of Rombauer's writing. The first printing by Bobbs-Merrill totaled 10,000 copies released on May 1, 1936. (Mendelson 151-161)

This lithograph was issued in 1971 from the Sendak Archives at the Rosenbach Museum & Library, a small selection by Sendak himself of his favorite works. This is the first time this watercolor appears as a single sheet, not two images spread across two pages. The original limited distribution was not signed by Sendak.

Titles in gilt over red morocco, raised bands, decorative gilt design with two birds on each spine. Spines expertly rebound in matching brown morocco, some residual wear to boards. First edition, second issue of Volume I and II, both lacking the subscribers' list. First issue of all three volumes of Gleanings Of Natural History. Frontispiece portrait of Edwards in Volume I, not colored.

Lacking frontispiece portrait, as called for in Volume V. The text of volumes 1-4 are in English, with volumes 5-7 in both French and English. All seven volumes with marbled endpapers, clean text throughout. There are occasional scholarly notes in pencil next to illustrated plates, could be removed if desired. Small holes in Volume 6, not directly impacting the illustrations.

While Edwards intended for the first book, A Natural History of Uncommon Birds, to complete his work on ornithological history, he was persuaded to extend his work, thus Gleanings of Natural History was added. The work is considered incomplete without both works presented together, as they are here. Considered at its date of issue "...one of the most important of all Bird Books, both as a Fine Bird Book and a work of Ornithology." It remains one of the most important works.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (b. 1961), known by his initials MBZ, is the third President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi. In 2004, former Secretary of State James Baker visited the United Arab Emirates as a Special Presidential Envoy to discuss Iraq's international debt. At the time, Sheikh Mohamed served as the deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1908. Octavo, [4], 355pp. Publisher's green cloth, title in gilt on spine and front cover. Light rubbing to tips of spine, internally clean. Top edge gilt. Bookplate of Walter Merriam Pratt front endpaper, blind stamp on half-title.

Inscription reads: "Sincerely yours / William H. Taft / Nov. 21st 1916."

Published during the election of 1908, Present Day Problems was a collection of speeches delivered during Taft's time in the Philippines and as Secretary of War for Theodore Roosevelt. The book was inscribed in 1916, after he had left office, but before he began his second career as a Supreme Court Justice.

Folio, a-z, aa-oo, 2-384pp, [2pp ads]. Full brown morocco, title and personalization in gilt on front cover. Solid text block, light wear to corners and spine.

Dampstain along bottom edge of text block, most noticeable on endpapers and flyleaves, with ripple throughout text. Internally bright and legible, with occasional toning to full-page plates.

Signed by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the limitation page, numbered 1701 of 2500 copies.

This copy was previously owned by Adolphus Busch III, president and CEO of the American brewing company Anheuser-Busch from 1934 to 1946. During the Prohibition era, Anheuser-Busch maintained operations by producing yeast, malt extract, ice cream, and more. Upon President Roosevelt's approval of the Volstead Act on March 22, 1933, Anheuser-Busch was once again permitted to make and sell 3.2% beer. Busch III celebrated the occasion by gifting his father the infamous six-horse Clydesdale hitch. The horses delivered a ceremonial "first" case of Budweiser to Roosevelt at the White House in April, 1933. Today, Anheuser-Busch is the largest brewing company in the United States, with multiple brands including Budweiser, Busch, Michelob, Bud Light, and Natural Light.

From Tannery to White House First edition of From Tannery to the White House: The Life of Ulysses S. Grant by William M. Thayer, signed by First Lady Julia D. Grant and her eldest son, Frederick D. Grant.

Boston: James H. Earle, 1885. Octavo, 480pp. Brown cloth boards, illustrated and stamped in gilt. Title and illustrations in gilt on spine. Floral endpapers, both in delicate condition. Includes frontispiece with tissue guard. Housed in custom brown cloth chemise, with title on spine over red morocco label, lined with felt.

Inscribed on the first free endpaper: "Julia D. Grant / Jany 24th 86." Additional signature on second free endpaper: "Frederick Dent Grant 1887." An exceptionally scarce signed book from First Lady Julia D. Grant.

Julia Dent Grant (1826-1902) was the wife of President Ulysses S. Grant and First Lady of the United States from 1869-1877. After the death of her husband in 1885, Grant began to work on her own memoirs, the first written by a first lady.

The memoirs were eventually published in 1975, seven decades after her death.

“Eisenhower Special” Flight Menu Inscribed copy of the "Eisenhower Special" flight menu from July 14, 1952, en route from the RNC in Chicago to Denver.

Chicago: United Air Lines Flight Kitchen, 1952. Flight Menu. Folded menu, color illustrations, measures 6" x 4.5". Includes napkin from the flight. Housed in custom blue cloth folder, title in gilt over red morocco on cover.

Signed on the menu card: "For Ellie, with best wishes, Dwight Eisenhower."

After a contentious 1952 Republican National Convention in Chicago, where General Dwight D. Eisenhower prevailed over Senator Robert Taft of Ohio and Gov. Earl Warren of California to win the Republican presidential nomination, Eisenhower traveled to Fraser, Colorado for a short vacation. Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie, planned to spend the week in Colorado, fly fishing, golfing, and visiting with Mamie's mother, Mrs. Elivera M. Doud. The "Eisenhower Special" was a cross-country campaign involving automobile parades, whistle-stop train tours, and air-travel.

Wood engraved illustrations throughout. The first issue of both volumes, with "transmitted" the first word of p. 297 in volume I, errata on verso of title leaf in volume II, tipped in "postscript" after viii in volume II. Includes half-titles in both volumes, advertisement for "Popular Works" dated January 1871 in Volume I, and "Standard Works" dated January 1871 in Volume II. Blue coated endpapers, solid text blocks, hinges cracking, but stable. Light foxing to endpapers, internally clean. Points of rubbing to tips of both spines, wear from handling to boards.

Housed in custom black morocco slipcase.

Previous ownership inscription to front endpaper. In the publisher's near fine dust jacket, retail price 3s 6d on front flap, light rubbing to blue print along spine, touch of wear to corners, a vibrant example. Includes frontispiece portrait of Professor Soddy.

Frederick Soddy (1877-1956) was a prolific student of chemistry and radioactivity who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1921. His work alongside Sir Ernest Rutherford proved that radioactivity is due to the transmutation of elements, which later led to developments in nuclear reactions. From 1914 until his retirement, Soddy worked as a Professor of Chemistry at various institutions.

He connected the ideas of energy and the economy, arguing that the economy is not a perpetual motion machine, but was a system that would halt its generation of wealth. This work focuses on the development of money systems in the world, and how the exponential growth of industrial production did not align with the money systems of the time.

Felix Frankfurter (1882-1965) was a prominent American jurist and Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. He played a pivotal role in shaping constitutional law and championed the idea of judicial restraint. Frankfurter served on the Supreme Court from 1939 to 1962.
