DANCE INSTRUCTION • The Fine Arts Association’s dance program allows students to enter at any level and/or style appropriate to both ability and age. Students new to Fine Arts with previous study in dance will be scheduled for a placement assessment by appointment with a dance faculty member. Students are evaluated annually to continue proper placement in a challenging class setting. Please note: Ages are approximate guidelines. Students are placed based on experience and current ability. • Young dancers are offered creative movement and ballet/tap combination classes which provide a foundation of dance terminology and movements. Using familiar locomotor and non locomotor steps, students develop increased coordination and spatial awareness. • Students studying in the upper levels will develop technical proficiency, style, and performance qualities as they are challenged by advanced vocabulary and complex combinations. Dance Companies • Edge, Verge, and Emerge are auditioned FAA Dance Companies that practice year-round, enabling selected FAA students to perform in various locations throughout the region. • Company dancers should enroll in the Dance Intensive. Private Dance Lessons: • Refine your technique with individual attention. Classes are tailored to further develop skills based on individual goals. Contact Customer Service at (440) 951-7500 for further information. DANCE COMPANY AUDITIONS • 2022 Dance Company Auditions will be held this fall. PRIVATE MUSIC INSTRUCTION Recital opportunities • The Fine Arts Association provides regular opportunities for music students to perform in recitals. General recitals are free, and the community is welcome! If you are a music student interested in participating in a general recital, please communicate with your instructor. Suzuki Instruction • Dr. Shinichi Suzuki began to teach music by applying the basic principles of learning language. When learning a language, one listens, speaks, reads and writes, in that order. In the Suzuki approach, the student listens, plays, then reads and writes. • What is different about The Suzuki Method? Learn more at: fineartsassociation.org/education/music Adapted Lessons • Available to any student: Our music therapists are available to provide an introduction to independent music lessons, help determine preference for select instruments, teach general music concepts in an engaging way, and foster a love of music learning for even the littlest maestro! Please call for more information and to learn more about our early childhood programming. Contact Ann Marie Raddell, Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies at 440-951-7500 x124 or email araddell@fineartsassociation.org for adapted music lessons for children through adults.

Class or Lesson Make Up • Class and lesson make ups are provided to the student for instructor cancellations or school closings. Student absences are not required to be made up by the instructor. • All students are encouraged to notify their instructor(s) of a class/lesson absence by calling the Customer Service Center at (440) 951-7500. • Your notification of your inability to attend a class is a courtesy to the instructor, but we regret we cannot excuse you from a payment of class or lesson for which you have contracted. Tuition is not credited for missed classes.
Scholarships • FAA is proud to offer various scholarships. Details and policies can be found at fineartsassociation.org/about/scholarships. When students are eligible for and receive scholarships, the scholarships will be applied to charges remaining after the student's portion of tuition has beenapplied.
Safety & Security • Parents/guardians of preschool-age students (below kindergarten age) are requested to stay on-site during classes. Please be in proximity to the classroom space in order to assist your child with toileting needs and/or in need of additional support. All families should ensure that current emergency contact information and any critical medical information is on file and updated with Customer Service for your children.
Photographic Use Permission • By registering for classes or lessons you are agreeing to abide by The Fine Arts Association’s Policies and Procedures and grant and give The Fine Arts Association the right to use your or your child’s photograph or image with or without you or your child’s name, both single and in conjunction with other persons or objects, for any and all purposes including, but not limited to, private or public presentations, advertising, publicity, and promotion relating thereto. If you do not wish to grant permission for you or your child to be photographed, please see the customer service staff for a Photographic Opt-Out form.
