Compared to last sale: Trade activity and demand moderate. Feeder steers less than 350 lbs traded 2.00 – 3.00 lower, 350 – 500 lbs steers were steady to 6.00 to 8.00 higher and steers over 500 lbs traded unevenly steady on a light test. The supply consisted of approximately 81 percent Holstein steers with the balance being Holstein cross steers, Jersey & Jersey cross steers, and Holstein heifers. Approximately 12 percent of the supply weighed over 600 lbs. STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last week slaughter lambs traded sharply higher. Feeder lambs traded steady to 20.00 higher. Slaughter ewes traded 5.00 to 10.00 higher and bucks were 2.00 to 4.00 higher. In goats, slaughter kids traded sharply higher. Slaughter nannies, billies, and wethers were steady. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate to good. The sheep supply consisted of approximately 33 percent slaughter lambs, 15 percent feeder lambs with the balance being slaughter ewes and bucks and bottle lambs that weighed between 10 – 25 lbs and traded mostly for 20.00 – 25.00 per head. The goat supply consisted of approximately 58 percent slaughter kids, 24 percent slaughter nannies/does with the balance being slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.
