President’s Report

Dear Members, It might sound clichéd to say that the year has flown by, but there’s no doubt that 2023 has passed in the blink of an eye.

As your Club President, I’ve had the privilege of numerous wonderful highlights. I remain immensely proud of the role our Club has played in the community, the significant contributions we’ve made, and the evolution we’ve undergone with our exciting and varied offering to you all this year.

Our ClubGrants initiatives remain close to my heart, and our new partners have demonstrated incredible dedication and tenacity in using their funds to enhance our local area.

Epping Boys High School continues to support children at risk through the RAISE program, Karonga provides passionate, quality disability education and the Wiyanga Shelter has assisted numerous pregnant women escaping violence with the aid of donated funds. Naturally, there are many more deserving recipients, and I eagerly anticipate adding new partners to this list in 2024.

Another exciting change we’ve witnessed over the past 12 months is a shift toward more family-centred activities.

As this trend continues, I encourage you to explore the fantastic School Holiday Program we’re launching.

Whether you’re a parent or grandparent, there’s so much to enjoy with your young family members.

In 2024, we’re thrilled to introduce our first Book Club luncheon with acclaimed author Joan Sauers, a new concept that I’m confident will be well-received. We also have a line-up of live entertainment, including events like Harry Potter Trivia, FABBA (The Abba Show), The Neil Diamond Show, and Kath & Kim’s Drag Bingo. Whatever piques your interest, we have something special to offer you this summer!

I want to express my gratitude and thanks once again for an outstanding 12 months. We hope we have served you, our valued member, well. I wish you and your families a wonderful festive season, and I look forward to seeing you at the Club this month.
