Dear Dwight Parents, Alumni, and Friends, We are delighted to welcome you to The Dwight School Foundation’s 2016 Spring Benefit. The theme of this evening — “Passport to Innovation” — is especially meaningful, as our School is proud to extend its long tradition of breaking new ground. For 144 years, Dwight has opened up a world of previously unimagined possibilities for faculty and students, and tonight we celebrate that legacy.

We also celebrate the enduring commitment of The Dwight School Foundation to supporting faculty professional development; student financial aid; and innovation grants for imaginative and entrepreneurial students to take their ideas beyond the classroom and into the marketplace. We launched the innovation program at last year’s Benefit with great enthusiasm and since that time, Spark Tank has flourished by shaping new young entrepreneurs and garnering media attention.

Thanks to the Foundation, our faculty receive among the highest levels of professional development support available at independent schools in New York City. This support goes above and beyond that which the School provides to ensure that faculty remain on the cutting edge in education, charge ahead with curricular innovations, and inspire our students to learn in new and creative ways. Also thanks to the Foundation, our community is enriched deeply by families who receive financial aid and glows brightly with new ideas. Indeed, our faculty and students have open “passports” to learning and innovation, setting Dwight School apart from all others.

We are deeply grateful to The Dwight School Foundation for its unwavering support and tonight, as we enjoy the festivities, we have a number of people to thank for working so hard to make this event a success: the Board of Trustees, members of the Spring Benefit Committee, staff of the Foundation Advancement Office, and our auction donors.
