Kennedy Morgan Awarded Neighbors Way Scholarship
The Dunham School is proud to announce that Kennedy Morgan ’22 received a $1,500 scholarship from the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation.
Kennedy now attends Baylor University where she plans to major in elementary education. During her senior year, she was named an AP Scholar® as well as a National African American Recognition Program Scholar and served as Upper School publicity prefect. Kennedy is the daughter of Dana and Brian Morgan (pictured above).
Established in 2018, the Neighbors Way Tuition Assistance Award was developed in an effort to help subsidize the cost of tuition for students entering their first year of college. Area schools that participate in the Neighbors Mascot Checking Program are invited to nominate one graduating senior to receive the scholarship each year. Students are nominated based on their character and commitment to the credit union’s core values of integrity, respect, trust, stability, community involvement, honesty, empathy, ethical behavior, and fairness.
Congratulations to Kennedy on this well-deserved honor and many thanks to the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation and Neighbors Federal Credit Union. 2021–2022 MIDDLE SCHOOL AWARDS

Jordyn Minor Awarded Inaugural Warren J. Wilson Scholarship
The Dunham School is pleased to announce that Jordyn Minor ’23 has been named as the first recipient of the Warren J. Wilson Greater Baton Rouge State Fair Scholarship, awarded annually to an Upper School student who demonstrates excellence in scholarship, leadership, and community service. The scholarship is made possible by the Warren J. Wilson Greater Baton Rouge State Fair Scholarship Fund, established in honor of Mr. Wilson’s 40 years of service to the state fair.
Jordyn exemplifies all of the characteristics that the scholarship was created to encourage and support. She is an accomplished scholar, athlete, and student leader. She has been selected to serve as the Connections Prefect during the 2022–2023 school year. A cancer survivor who battled acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age nine, Jordyn exhibits the same strength of character and determination as a fierce competitor on the Dunham track and field team. After making the switch from gymnastics to track and field during the 2021-2022 school year, she claimed the 2022 2A state championship title in the 100-meter dash in her firstever state meet.

Upper School STEM Students Explore Cybersecurity

In October, the Upper School Robotics team joined students enrolled in the Digital Innovations class to explore real-life applications of cybersecurity on a trip to Stephenson Technologies Corporation (STC), a non-profit research and development company fully owned by LSU.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to tour the STC Headquarters as well as the Rouzan Smart House and witness a mock cyber attack. The group also met with cybersecurity engineers and heard from LSU Cyber Forensics professor Dr. Abe Baggili about career opportunities in the cybersecurity field.
In a separate cybersecurity event hosted by Lousiana Tech, Jeremiah Blanchard ’24, Amelia Fargason ’23, Hayden Hingle ’24, Kate Plaisance ’25, Adrian Raymond ’24, and Gus Van Haute ’24 worked as a team to analyze real-world cybersecurity scenarios by identifying threats, assessing data, and creating solutions.
