February was a cold and event filled month. On the 13th, your Board of Directors hosted the Annual Breakfast with the City. This is the 40th anniversary of this great event! In attendance from the City were Mayor John Giles, Vice Mayor Mark Freeman, and Councilman Francisco Heredia. City Manager Chris Brady, Assistant City Manager Kari Kent, and state Senator Sean Bowie were also in attendance, City management from several departments including Transportation, Engineering, Budget, Public Information, Code Compliance, Economic Development, Police, Fire, and Animal Control attended and responded to questions from the Board. With the City’s involvement, your Board is better informed to make prudent decisions in the guidance of our community. The City provided valuable information including the ongoing clean-up from the storm. There are projects at the library and two parks. The “service line warranty” program may be renewed. Campaign signs will be removed if you contact the City. Code Enforcement is walking Mesa neighborhoods as a group of 12 to identify concerns. The City reported residents are happy since their neighborhoods are being cleaned up and looking good. Our Master Planning Committee is finishing the Reserve Study and we will be in positive shape. Master Planning is also looking for someone to win the “Name the Patio” contest! If you have a suggestion, don’t hesitate to submit your idea to the office! Saturday, March 16, will be a busy day. We will have our Ranch wide garage sale from 7:00am to 1:30pm, our clean up from 7:00am to 1:30pm at Los Altos, and our shredding from 8:00am to 11:00am at Saratoga. Hopefully we will have good weather and less rain than last Fall. Please plan to participate in this community event to help keep Dobson Ranch the Best Place to Live. On a final note, Tuesday, April 9 will be the date of our annual meeting of the members. Please be certain to cast your votes early for your favorite Board candidate.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! If you are “in the Green”, then that reminds me that tax day will soon be upon us in April. As a 501(c)4, the Association is exempt from income tax, but unfortunately us individuals are not. The good news is that with recent tax changes, most of us will pay less tax, and the new tax forms are easier to complete for most of us. Good luck with submitting your tax return! By the time you receive this article, we will already have completed our portion of the annual audit for calendar year 2018. The process started in mid-January, when we provided about 40 separate electronic files per our auditor’s request; trial balances, depreciation schedules, balance sheet, income statement, bank statements, general ledger and a whole lot more were provided. The auditor then spent about 5 full days on-site over a two-week period of time in February. The Financial Manager, Treasurer and Community Manager were interviewed regarding several topics. Also, several invoices and all bank statements were reviewed and scrutinized by the auditor. The auditors than returned to the firm’s office to analyze the findings, develop any findings and recommendations, and prepare the preliminary audit report. In mid-March, the preliminary report will be presented to a joint meeting of the Budget & Finance Committee and the Board of Directors. Afterwards, a management letter to the Association will be provided regarding any suggestions or recommendations for future accounting practices. Then, in early April the final audit report shall be sent to the organization. A brief synopsis of the audit report shall be presented at the Annual Meeting on April 9, 2019. Although the audit was not completed at the time of this writing, indications are that we should once again receive an “Unqualified” Report (that is “auditor” language for “Good Job!”). Although the Association is not required by law to perform a full audit each year (as opposed to a simpler review by an auditor, or an annual un-audited management report), the Association has regularly contracted for a full audit to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP). The Board of Directors reserves the right to change this approach in the future. However, it is unlikely we will change this approach as long as the perceived benefit of having professional accounting guidance as well as peace of mind through such an audit exceeds its costs. I look forward to seeing you receive the audit results at the Annual Meeting.

The maintenance of the common areas is a priority of the Board of Directors and management. Maintaining the amenities and common areas in immaculate condition contributes to the overall enjoyment of the residents as well as increases the property values on the Ranch. We are in the process of creating and implementing a standardized method of maintenance and preventative maintenance of the Associations assets. This will include regular audits of the common areas and automated scheduling of maintenance. An area that we have been working on is the new patio area that will feature a stage. This area, once complete, will be rentable for parties and events. We are also installing memorial bricks in this area. With the unfortunate weathering of the memorials throughout the Ranch, the bricks will be a longer lasting option for those who want to memorialize a loved one. The rose garden will be revitalized with new soil that will help our roses to thrive. The board is following the advice of our rosarian, Mike Jepson, and will oversee the replanting and replacing of roses that are not healthy. Our rose garden had been an awardwinning garden at one point and with one-fourth of those who took a survey recently, it is one of the most important amenities of the Ranch. We will be collecting and storing the memorials that have decayed in the rose garden and can be collected by those who purchased them. We will be offering memorial bricks at a deep discount to those who want to replace their memorials from the rose garden with a memorial brick. Our goal is to maintain the common areas in pristine condition and be a part of keeping Dobson Ranch “The best place to live!”

A Rainy Day

I arrived in Arizona a little over 22 years ago, a newbie to some, but now part of the old guard to many. In all that time I have watched and recorded the details of many rain events. Most of those events happened after the sun set so my rain coat has seen little action. That changed one day in February. I was out in the rain all afternoon just soaking up the drizzle. What an experience, even if the passing storm only left a tenth of an inch for the record books. Yes Matilda, it does rain in Arizona. There are several names for the many types of rain we desert dwellers experience. The most fascinating is virga, a name given to rain that evaporates before reaching the ground. It can be a spectacular sight watching sheets of rain fall from a distant cloud and disappear high in the sky. Or to feel the rain drops on your face but not see any drops on the sidewalk. How does one translate that into practical terms? Before rain can reach the ground and nourish the plants that grow there, our dry air needs to soak up some of that moisture. That is virga. Once the air soaks up some humidity, that humid air is less likely to dry out the soil surrounding the newly moistened plants. Isn’t Mother Nature just too clever, and beautiful? How can we be equally clever with our landscaping? Come to Dobson Ranch’s Spring Expo at La Casita on April 6th and find out how to become a clever desert dweller. The Spring Expo runs from 8:00 to 11:00am and features several local companies and organizations willing to share their insights into conserving our resources. At the end, the ladybugs come out to the delight of all the children. Come capture a ladybug.

What is your motivation for running for the Board of Directors? I have lived on Dobson Ranch since 1985. I would like to see this community continue to be the “best place to live”. To continue to be a sought-after community it is important to maintain our property values and listen to the homeowners’ opinions. It is also important to be transparent about how the Ranch is run. As a Board Member, I will continue to keep the interest of the Members as my first priority.
What is your motivation for running for the Board of Directors? My family and I have lived in Dobson Ranch since 1999. I still believe now as back when I first moved in that Dobson Ranch is the “Best Place to Live” and I would like to keep it that way. By listening to the homeowners and representing them during the Board of Director’s meetings and events i think is a great way to give back to the community.
What activities, events, programs, and/or amenities do you enjoy at Dobson Ranch? Dobson Ranch has so many events, activities and amenities. We have pools at three locations including our popular Splash Pad at La Casita. We have several tennis courts, well kept common areas, numerous clubs and our wonderful lakes. My family has used most of the amenities on the Ranch including our popular Summer Camp. We look forward to the wonderful fall events with Winter Wonderland and the great Boat Parade. As you look at the Dobson Ranch community, what specific challenges do you see facing the HOA? As I thought about this, it was surprising to me that the challenges really have not changed much since I ran for the Board in 2016. We need to continue to maintain property values, stay within a zerobased budget and maintain our relationship with the City of Mesa. Autobiography: I have been in Mesa and lived on Dobson Ranch for over 30 years. I am married, have two daughters, a son-in-law and 5 grandchildren. I retired from what is now Century Link with 37 years of service in sales and marketing in both Tucson and Phoenix. I volunteer at Paz De Cristo, Seton Catholic School and St. Timothy’s Catholic School.
What activities, events, programs, and/or amenities do you enjoy at Dobson Ranch? Dobson Ranch has so many great amenities that we all enjoy but I personally like the lakes, pools, the tennis courts and many of the events offered by the Ranch at LaCasita. We really enjoy the seasonal activities that are offered for the community. As you look at the Dobson Ranch community, what specific challenges do you see facing the HOA? As Dobson Ranch ages, there are a few cosmetic items that need attention as well as the infrastructure that will need to be watched. We need to keep up on the maintenance of the lakes, pools, buildings etc. so the costs don’t get out of hand when it comes time to fix things. We also need to continue to maintain our property values to keep Dobson Ranch a place where future generations will want to live. Autobiography: I have lived in Mesa since 1987 and in Dobson Ranch since 1999. I am married with 4 children and two granddaughters. I currently work at Dignity Health as an IT Project Manager and am on the Board of Directors of the Help Fill the Toy Closet Foundation where we hold fund raisers to buy toys for children who are in the hospital. My wife and I enjoy traveling around Arizona, enjoying the time with our children and granddaughters during family get-togethers.

I’m running for the Board of Directors to ensure that Dobson Ranch remains one of the best communities in Arizona. What activities, events, programs, and/or amenities do you enjoy at Dobson Ranch? My family and I enjoy all of the events. I think the only one we haven’t participated in is the Polar Plunge. Our Favorites are the Boat Parade and the Ice Cream Socials. As you look at the Dobson Ranch community, what specific challenges do you see facing the HOA? The Dobson Ranch HOA has undergone a lot of changes in the recent 4 THE DOBSON ASSOCIATION
past. While there has been increased transparency in some cases, false information the voice of the few seems to be the loudest. My goal is to bring back the voice of the community. Autobiography: My name is Ben Smith, my wife’s name is Jill and we have three kids; Chloe (16), Cadence (11) and Brody (9). My family and I have lived in Mesa for the past 14 years, and in Dobson Ranch for the past 2. In December of 2018, I wrapped up a year term on the Mesa School Board where I held the Vice President and President position for my final 2 years. During my time on the Mesa School Board, I was a national advocate for public education and have served on a number of Federal Education Committees. In addition to my political experience, I have an MBA and multiple processes and business efficiency certifications. As a member of the Dobson Ranch Board of Directors, I will utilize my education and experience to ensure that our community is properly represented.

Allen Johnson Dobson Ranch owner and resident Do you regularly attend Dobson Ranch HOA board meetings? No What is your motivation for running for the Board of Directors? I’d like to join the Board of Directors to serve as an advocate for the silent majority of Dobson Ranch residents. I disagree with the push to enact new rules; specifically, the stricter interpretation of language regarding the parking of vehicles (particularly pickup trucks), the banning of backyard cooking smokers, the banning of parrots, and similar. Although I have thus far rarely attended meetings, I commit that if I am elected, I will make every reasonable effort to attend all required functions and embrace all duties related to the role wholeheartedly. What activities, events, programs, and/or amenities do you enjoy at Dobson Ranch? Dobson Ranch is special because our activities, parks, lakes, and overall layout draws community members out of their homes and brings them together. We enjoy a casual and relaxed environment where neighbors get to know each other. My family and I look forward to the many activities that are held at Laguna Park, especially the Bark in the Park and the Easter Eggstravaganza, just to name a few. As you look at the Dobson Ranch community, what specific challenges do you see facing the HOA? We are a diverse community. Our neighbors include young families, retirees, blue-collar workers, and business professionals. Recognizing the needs and viewpoints of the whole community should be a priority for our HOA leadership. A balance must be established where no one is marginalized. Our homes and neighborhood infrastructure are 40+ years old. Strong leadership from our HOA, including a common-sense approach to the enforcement of our CC&Rs, will act as a check against potential decline. Autobiography: I’ve lived in Arizona almost all my life, having grown up in Yuma and moved to the East Valley in 2005. I purchased my home in Dobson Ranch in 2011. I’m 35 years old. My wife Maren and I have 2 young daughters. We feel blessed to be part of this community. In my free time I enjoy gardening, bicycling, and playing with my girls. I’m a graduate of NAU with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, emphasizing in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. I’ve worked for Sunstate Equipment for the last 13 years. Running for the Board of Directors isn’t something I’d typically do; however, I genuinely believe that I can present a different type of perspective that will benefit the community. 2019 Assessments
The Board of Directors has approved a slight decrease to the Assessments for 2019. The new assessment will be $138.00 quarterly ($552.00 annually). Thank you for your contribution in making Dobson Ranch “the best place to live!”. As a reminder, assessments are due on the first day of each quarter; January, April, July, and October. A late fee of $15 will be charged quarterly if your payment is not received by the 20th day of the first month of each quarter. There are several options for paying your assessments: 1. Automatic monthly payments can be made through ACH (auto debit to your checking account). Please complete the form that can be found in the “Documents & Forms” tab on our website (www.dobsonranch.com) and return it to the administration office along with a voided check. ACH payments are run on the 5th of each month. The payment will continue to be drafted from your account until you give the Association notice to cancel the ACH. Please note that accounts on ACH will not receive future payment coupons. Notice of any assessment change will be published in the current year November issue of the Association’s official publication, the Ranchers’ Round Up. 2. Annual, Semi-Annual, or Quarterly payments can be made by check, cash, debit or credit card. Please note that debit or credit card payments cannot be accepted over the phone. Monthly payment is not an option through mail or drop off. 3. Using your bank card, credit card or e-check, automatic and one-time payments can be made at the Dobson Association website (www.dobsonranch.com), by clicking on the “Assessment Payment Portal” (green dollar bill on the front page of the site). If this is the first time you have made a payment on this site, it will be necessary to set up a “New User Account”. Please contact our office if you need assistance with setting up your payment. If you are currently setup on recurring payments through the payment portal, please be sure that your payments are set to continue through 2019. We are in the process of streamlining our online payment system which will provide the homeowners with a more efficient way to pay and track assessment payments. Implementation is set to start in the beginning of 2019. 4. You may also send in recurring payments if using automatic bill pay with your personal banking institution. When setting up the payment through your bill pay program, please be sure to reference your account number and property address to ensure proper credit to your account. For those homeowners who have already set up automatic bill pay through your bank, please be sure to update the assessment amount to reflect your new assessment amount. They are participating in the 3rd annual Dobson Ranch Spring Expo, Saturday, April 6th. The Dobson Ranch Spring Expo forwards the theme of conservation in Dobson Ranch, and this is your opportunity to meet with area businesses and local organizations to learn more. Come visit with representatives from Desert View Landscaping, the Dobson Ranch Library, Garden with Ease, the City of Mesa-Volunteer Office/ Tool Lending Library, and many more. The Spring Expo is held in conjunction with the Retiree’s Club Pancake Breakfast. Bring the entire family to learn about easy ways to conserve natural resources, how to save money… and for a chance to win a prize! Visit with all the representatives and enter to win great prizes such as an Amazon gift card, donated by Kangen Water, or a giant derby duck pool float, donated by Arizona Pool Water Recycling! The Dobson Ranch Spring Expo is Saturday, April 6th, 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m in front of La Casita. The event is open to residents and guests of all ages. Ms. Jessi with La Casita Preschool is hosting a Recycled Materials Art Show featuring her students’ work, and at 10:30, a live ladybug release will take place by the playground. Landscaping Tips

Winter Pruning and Spring Prep Our short winter is coming to a close. It may be chilly today but by the end of the month, it is quite possible we will be transitioning into spring. When you look around and take stock of your landscape, your attention may focus on the bare trees and the frost burnt branches and leaves of some of the more frost tender shrubs. While these things may be unsightly, they are quite temporary. Your landscape contractor will help schedule your winter pruning to promote plant health so your landscape will be ready for the coming growing season. • Frost cutting - though it is unsightly, wait until danger of frost has passed (typically mid-February in the low desert Phoenix area) before pruning away frost damaged branches and leaves. Leaving these in place can potentially protect the plant from more frost damage. • Dead-heading (removing spent flowers) is a great way to freshen up a flower bed, flower pots and some shrubs. • If you haven’t cut back your ornamental grasses yet, it’s not too late. Your landscaper can cut these nearly to the ground to rejuvenate them for spring growth. Watering may need to be adjusted so the cut back crowns do not dry out. • It is a great time to tackle overgrown pad cacti. Your landscaper should reduce the size of the cactus by breaking off the unwanted pads at the joints. Trees: • Prune deciduous trees such as Chinese elm, pistache and ash when your arborist can see the crown of the tree without its foliage. This allows them to concentrate on making ideal cuts, refining the structure of the tree. • Removal of diseased wood in the colder months helps prevent spread of some diseases to adjacent limbs or trees. Branch diseases, such as sooty canker, are inactive in colder temperatures. • Evergreens like Afghan and Aleppo pines can be pruned during the winter when transpiration rates are reduced. Minimal pruning is always best on pine trees. • Mesquite trees prone to sapping can be pruned during the winter months to reduce oozing from new wounds. Honey mesquite and velvet mesquite can be pruned anytime, but wait until the end of January to prune Chilean mesquite in higher elevations or colder areas. • If required, raise canopies in the cooler months to allow time for the tree to adapt to new sun exposure on previously shaded limbs or trunk. Wait until after Feb. 15th to trim any frost sensitive species.

Message from the Recreation Director By Jesse Wright Associate Director of Recreation
The weather is starting to heat up and so are the Recreation Programs and Events at Dobson Ranch HOA. Our Spring Break Camp will be held March 11th-15th at the Saratoga Recreation Center. If you are looking for something for the kiddos to do when they are on break, look no further; it is coming up quick! It’s that time of year for some spring cleaning. Join us for our Garage Sale, Clean Up and Shred on Saturday, March 16th. To end our March events, we will have our BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) event on Friday, March 29th. This event is for 21 and over only. Calling all you parents, come enjoy a night out. We will have live music, hors d’oeuvres, and raffle prizes. This is a blind tasting, so bring your favorite wine or beer. Prizes will be given to the best wine (red/white) and beer (light/dark). Kicking the month of April off, we have a Pancake Breakfast and the Spring Expo on Saturday, April 6th. The retirees are cooking up some tasty pancakes for only $3 a plate. The Water Management Committee will also have vendors outside to answer all your water quality needs. I know I will be there, will you? Easter will be here before we know it, so tell all your family and friends that the recreation department is having two Easter events again this year. The Tween Egg Hunt, which is geared for those teenagers in your life, is on Friday night April 19th. We will also be having our family event, Easter Eggstravaganza, on Saturday, April 20th at Laguna Park. There are lots of spring events to enjoy at Dobson Ranch HOA. Come out and have some fun!

Dobson Dolphins Dobson Ranch, it’s time to get ready for the summer swim team at Dobson Ranch. We are a summer recreational swim team that swims in the East Valley Swim League. The team began in 1985 and is still going strong. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids to take their swimming to the next level by regular swim team practices and several meets throughout the summer. One of the best parts of the swim team is the summer friendships that are formed and the fun, family events like the ice cream social and Patriotic Swim Meet. The season always ends with a great awards night with trophies and dvd. When you find yourself at mid court and closer to the net, one could and can do a lob over the net opponent or if both partners are near the net, you can calmly bunt up a lob to get yourself out of trouble. Lobber’s generally perform this shot from the backcourt and not in the service box area which makes this shot an element of surprise. It does take practice and feel when performing this but in the heat of battle you will certainly catch the opponent’s off guard and will then checkmate them where you just out played them since they never saw it coming.

Sit back, relax and take in the beauty of a Dobson Ranch lake on a pontoon ride! Tour fee is $35 per hour with a two hour maximum. Reservations are available through the Recreation Department and require a 7 day minimum notice and are subject to weather and availability. Other rules and restrictions will apply. Don’t forget… a FREE one hour pontoon ride per year per property is available for you to enjoy! Call 480-831-7464 for more information.
Table and Chair Rentals Make your next at home event great with the convenience of renting tables and chairs right in your community. The Dobson Association not only rents out facilities for private rentals but renting of chairs and tables not held on a ranch facility are also available. We can accommodate a rental up to 140 metal framed folding chairs and 15 rectangle 6 foot by 3 foot tables. The resident must schedule to pick up and drop off the chairs and tables at La Casita Recreation Center. A refundable security deposit of $50 minimum is due in cash or credit card payment to hold your reservation. The rental cost per chair is $0.50 and $5 per table. Table and chair rental request are made during administration hours (except for holidays) at La Casita Recreation Center.
2019 Boat Permits and Fishing Licenses It’s always a wonderful time for fishing and boating at one of the beautiful lakes at Dobson Ranch. Fishing licenses are required (catch and release only) and boat permits are required for all watercraft (size restrictions apply). Licenses and Permits may be purchased at La Casita, 2719 South Reyes. Children 7 years and up require a license. For more information, please call the recreation department at 480-831-7464. All boats must be registered with the Dobson Association and must display a Dobson current boat permit when on the lakes. The boat permits for 2019 are $50 annually per motor and $25 annually per non-motor. The decals expire on December 31 of each year.
Boating Reminder Happy New Year! Here on the Ranch we have the awesome opportunity of enjoying life lakeside…the New Year brings with it a few reminders regarding boating and our lakes. • Boating on Dobson Ranch lakes is restricted to residents and their guests. Unlicensed boats may be removed by the Association. • All boats operated on the lakes shall be powered manually, by sail or electrically (maximum of three horse-power or equivalent). • No power boats are permitted. • Sailboats shall not exceed an overall length of 15 feet. • Canoes shall not exceed 16 feet. • The state of Arizona does not recognize sailboards as boats even though they are licensed. They are not allowed on Dobson Ranch lakes. • All boats must be registered with the Arizona Game and Fish Department, this is a State of Arizona boating regulation. • All boats should be equipped with floatation devices sufficient to float craft and crew when awash. Coast Guard-approved life preservers are required for each crew member on board. • Children under 12 and non-swimmers must wear life preservers while boating. • No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or who is mentally or physically incapable of operating a watercraft under the prevailing conditions, shall be in control of any watercraft. • Watercraft owners and operators must have public liability insurance covering water and boating accidents. • The operator of any watercraft involved in an accident which results in injury or property damage shall immediately stop the boat, give his name and address and the name and address of the owner of the boat to the insured party, render reasonable assistance and promptly report the incident to the nearest enforcement agency. A report must be filed with the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Dobson Association within 10 days. • Boats operating after dark must show a white light. • Those violating the Association boating rules and regulations will have their privileges suspended. Winter weather this year has been superb, make sure you get out and enjoy it as you participate in our club activities. First and foremost, our Dobson Ranch Retirees Club is a social club to promote friendships among our Members. Please join us at our next Regular Meeting on Monday, April 1st. PLAY BALL sounds across the Valley. How lucky we are to live here. It was a very cold opening day for baseball, with snow in the mountains and in Scottsdale. It was so majestic looking at our beautiful scenery. Enjoy this wonderful time of year and our wild flowers. Out to Lunch celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at Rula Bula in Tempe. The food is so good. May the Luck of the Irish be with you! On April 1st. we are going to the new restaurant, Ella’s, former Pink Pepper. Chris will be sending out info. Bunco was at Lynn Edmonson’s. She always has fun treats. Thank you, Lynn. March 20th will be hosted by Tanya and April 25th will be hosted by Lynn Stevens. A side note; I had the trifecta of my sports teams this past season. The Boston Red Sox are World Series Champs, Ohio State U won the Rose Bowl and the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl. Not sure when this will happen again. Thankful now! It’s springtime ---the perfect time to visit a garden. Come join the Garden Club Tuesday, April 9 to visit Lynda Bailey’s Ranch garden. We will meet at 5:30 p.m. at La Casita and caravan to her home. Here’s what Lynda has to say about her garden: “First of all, I am not a ‘gardener.’ I love the Ranch Garden Club because I learn so much and get great ideas! My backyard is full of memories---four weddings, four Dobson Ranch Garden Tours, yearly St. Patrick Day parties, Easter Egg Hunts and one of the first “rallies” of John Mc Cain when first running for State District 1 Representative in 1982. My favorite garden memory is reading under the arbor. However, my yard is forever changed since losing five original pine trees in the storms this year. Our traditional first tournament of the year for Valentines Day was rained out! Very unusual, although in more recent history this was repeated several times cancelling out regularly scheduled drop-in play!! What a wet and windy “winter in the desert”. We are lucky to get the water, but, for pickleball purposes, we are glad things are back to normal with highs into the 70s again. Luckily, our Commissioner was able to host a brunch at his home and we all commiserated over the cancellation of play, and were still able to receive our treasured artifacts from the Gillies/Mizner Artistic Studios which are always awarded for participation!! This time it was for eating brunch…. Our winter hours for drop-in play remain at Monday/8 am, Thursday Skills and Drills/9 am and Saturday/8am, and there is play Tuesday nights at 7 pm. We also have our social pickleball group who play Monday and Thursday evenings under the lights at 7pm. Please be sure to get on our email list for any schedule changes, as they do happen from time to time, as recently demonstrated. Beginners are always welcome at all our events. We welcome everyone out to play or watch pickleball at Dobson Ranch. Come out and bring your kids to see why this is the fastest growing sport in America. We always have paddles to loan and balls available, just be sure to dress appropriately for action including proper tennis shoes. City of Mesa launches new interactive map to showcase citywide developments Have you ever seen construction activity in your city and wondered what was coming? Today, the City of Mesa Office of Economic Development, in collaboration with the Development Services and Information Technology departments, announced the launch of the Mesa Active Development Map (www.selectmesa.com/mesadevelopments), a new, interactive, web-based tool that allows users to locate and follow development projects through the planning process. This new website serves business owners, real estate professionals, and Mesa’s more than 500,000 citizens by providing information about active development projects. This new website features key details about each project including renderings, status in the planning process, address, acreage, use, and case reference number. the standard development timeline moving from submission through completion of construction. Mesa’s active development map complements Mesa’s new economic development website, www.selectmesa.com, launched in September 2018. “The Mesa active development map is an excellent tool for both the development community and our everyday citizens to examine the growth taking place across the City. This collaborative process between departments is a great example of working together to provide more transparency for developments,” said City of Mesa Economic Development Director Bill Jabjiniak. Mesa’s active development map was created by the City’s Geographic Information Systems team utilizing ArcGIS powered by Esri.
