JANUARY SALE 40% OFF We moved into our house in Broughton and although the kitchen was serviceable its layout did not work for us. We looked at the usual suspects and found Happy Kitchens advertising in a local magazine. We invited several kitchen companies and Happy Kitchens in to provide designs and quotations for a new kitchen so that we had a range of options to select from.

The resulting designs were similar and the quotations were all in the same ball park. However, Ben was by far the most helpful as a potential supplier and this was important for us. He was more interested in ensuring we were happy with what he was proposing, he also advised us about disposing of our existing kitchen and where we could get the best deal on our new kitchen appliances.

The kitchen is fabulous, the fitting team are fantastic, well skilled and dedicated to making your Happy Kitchen perfect. They have a work pedigree that includes high end luxury boat building so their work quality is exquisite. You just need to keep them fueled with coffee and they also take away all the rubbish. I would happily recommend the Happy Kitchen team to anyone.

EMSWORTH HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY CELEBRATES ITS CENTENARY In 1919 The Land Settlement Facilities Act required land to be made available to all to produce food, but mainly it was a way of assisting returning service men.

In Emsworth the site chosen was a field off Victoria Road. The Emsworth Allotments and Gardens Society was set up to run it, collecting rents and making sure that plots were cultivated and in good order.

One hundred years on, the Society has evolved into Emsworth Horticultural Society which no longer runs the allotments and whose activities reflect a range of the horticultural interests of its 350 or so members.

The centenary programme of events will include: • ‘Planning and Planting for the Year Ahead’, a talk by Steve Austin.

Thursday 17th January • Radio Solent Gardeners’ Questions March 15th, 1.45pm for a 2pm recording in Emsworth Baptist Church Hall hosted by Rebecca Parker.

Bring along your questions to put to local gardening experts Andy McIndoe and Pippa Bensley. Tickets will be on sale at our talks, the Hut (see below) and at Bookends.

Price: £2 for members and £3 for nonmembers to cover the hire of the hall and refreshments.
