Micheldever School News for October

A very big welcome back and well done for such a successful start for all of our pupils at Micheldever C of E Primary School. It has been wonderful for us as a school to resume some of the activities that we have not been able to do throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Whole school worships, singing together, eating lunch together and having playtimes altogether have been particular highlights for us as a school.

It has also been a pleasure to watch our older children become ‘buddies’ once again with our new Reception pupils and to help them settle into school life. Our older children do a superb job of calming and comforting and being a reassuring presence for new pupils on the playground. Our new reception children have settled in very well to life in the Micheldever family and we are delighted to have them with us. They are so very welcome in our school. It has also been a pleasure for us to welcome a number of new families into our school community, all of whom have had a positive impact on our community already.

Our learning has got off to a very exciting start as well. From the stone age to explorers, from changing the world through curiosity and learning all about ourselves, the wide and varied curriculum learning is engaging all our pupils and there is an excited buzz around the school with regards to learning.

It has also been very exciting for our Year 3/4 pupils to go swimming each week.

As we look forward as a school and community to the coming year, personally I am filled with much excitement for the future. Our school community is going from strength to strength as we grow together. We are now looking for how we can impact and support our local community as well. If you have any thoughts or suggestions about local projects or initiatives, please do let us know at school as we would love to be involved. We would also love to invite any families who are interested in their child joining us in Year R in the 2022/23 academic year to attend our open mornings on 20th October and 29th November from 9:30 – 11:30. We would be delighted to take you on a tour of our school and answer any questions that you may have.
