A WAY-FINDING

SOLUTION

EMBER

IDEA: To help firemen navigate unfamiliar surroundings, Ember combines a traditional thermal imaging camera with an OLED tack dispenser to provide a “breadcrumb-like path throughout the building, marking safe passage for firemen and trapped civilians. DISPENSER: the mechanism tacks small OLEDs into wall after the trigger is pulled CAMERA: the thermal image acts as a moment-to-moment wayfinding system HANDLE: ergonomic handle is easy to grip as well as large enough to operate with gloves OLED TACKS: are tacked to the wall to mark a path of safe passage through the building

1. compress against wall

2. press trigger on handle

3. tacked OLED will flash

CONCEPT: OLED light tacked into wall marks safe passage through building
