While the 2014 season will ultimately be a forgettable one for Steve Spurrier’s team, the Gamecocks ended the year on a high note with a 24-21 win against Miami in the Duck Commander Independence Bowl. With the victory, South Carolina finished the season with a winning record (7-6) for the seventh straight year. Junior running back Mike Davis, who announced he will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft, ended his career at South Carolina with 74 all-purpose yards and a receiving touchdown in his final game.
