Changes required to open market Creemore Farmers' Market opens June 27 in brewery parking lot Although it will look a little different this summer, The Creemore Farmers’ Market will open on Saturday, June 27. The market will be relocated to the Creemore Springs Brewery parking lot, and will encourage people to order online in advance, at www. openfoodnetwork.ca. “This will also be available even when the market is closed or dealing with a future crisis. As we become more comfortable with our new way of shopping and the rules become more relaxed we will add the browsing capability to our physical market.
Please use patience, this will evolve,” said market manager Helen Martin. The market will be located at Creemore Springs Brewery’s south parking lot on the corner of Mill and Edward, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. (Parking will be on the street.) Pick-up of pre-paid or pre-ordered product is from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 10 a.m. to noon the market is open to people who have not pre-ordered. The only entry will be the gate on Mill Street. The following public health protocols will be adhered to: • All vendors and customers must be free of illness. • All vendors must be farmers, food producers, or essential services. Extra spacing is required between vendors. • No ready-to-eat food will be available or allowed,

by Trina Berlo Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit Medical Officer of Health Dr. Charles Gardner says local cases of COVID-19 continue to decrease. As of June 11, there are 511 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Simcoe Muskoka with 428 (85 per cent) having recovered. He reported in his weekly media briefing that an outbreak has been declared at Creedan Valley Care Community in Creemore. At the time of the announcement on Tuesday one staff member had tested positive for COVID-19. It is regular practice to declare an outbreak at long-term care facilities even if there is only one case. On Wednesday, Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health for the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Health Unit, issued a class order requiring owners or operators of commercial establishments in the jurisdiction, including Mulmur, must wear a face covering in commercial establishments. The order prohibits people from entering commercial establishments or remaining in the premises if they are not wearing a face covering, which must be worn inside the establishment at all times, unless it is reasonably required to temporarily remove it for services provided. The rule does not apply to children under two, and people who cannot wear one for medical reasons, including those whose breathing is inhibited by a mask. Businesses are also required to ensure the availability of alcohol-based hand rub at all entrances and exits for the use of all people entering or exiting the establishment. As of June 11, Wellington-DufferinGuelph Health Unit has 413 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with the majority of those being in Dufferin County (172).
