Electronics stolen from NCPS Police are looking for those who broke into Nottawasaga and Creemore Public School sometime overnight on Sunday, Oct. 4 and stole two electronic devices.

The thief broke a window to gain access to the school and stole a silver 16-GB Apple iPad (model: A1395 with serial number: DYTLMHZXDFHW) and a 16-GB Apple iPod Touch, with a white face and neon green-yellow back (model: A1421 with serial number: CCQMXE9PG22R).

Best to stay home this Thanksgiving weekend There’s a lot to do in Creemore this weekend so it’s best to stay put and get the relatives to come to you.

On Saturday morning, the village is the place to be for the Farmers’ Market, apple pie contest, the Toronto North York Hunt’s parade of hounds and horses and Oktoberfest at Creemore Springs Brewery.

We had quite a bit of fun putting together this special harvest edition of The Creemore Echo, in which we chose to feature things relating to our fourlegged friends while celebrating rural life and farming.

Whether out on the ranch, at the vineyard, on the farm or at the resort for dogs, the theme that runs throughout the stories is of community, family and friends.

It will be wonderful to be surrounded by loved ones this weekend, catching up and feasting on good food, but let’s be honest, having houseguests does come with its challenges.

For those who live in the country, you may have to apologize for the sleepy flies that seem to have enough energy to bite but not enough to fly (those guys are jerks) but the more flyswatters the better. Just leave the vacuum cleaner out because you will need in again in five minutes.

The food drama and overly coordinated meal is unavoidable whether you are hosting or going to someone else’s house. You’ve probably already had dozens of emails and phone calls about who is preparing the potatoes only to look around the dinner table to find them missing entirely.

One trick that seems to work well is to tell everyone not to bring anything for dinner and you’ll end up not having to cook because no one wants to show up empty handed or they don’t trust that you’ll get it right.

But the upside of hosting Thanksgiving is that you get to keep the leftovers and etiquette dictates; it’s your house so you can make the gravy your way.

It’s getting down to the wire now so everyone should have a plan as to where everyone will sleep.

That usually means visitors in the real beds – grandparents in the master bedroom and aunts and uncles in the children’s rooms – children on the couch and you are on the basement floor.

All kidding aside, we hope everyone is able to celebrate a successful harvest and a bountiful year.

We hope your friends and family enjoy a weekend in the country, against a backdrop of fall colours.

May they leave bloated and happy and looking forward to returning soon… but not too soon.

Clearview residents will not benefit from big solar Editor: Before I begin please understand my comments are not directed to solar on homes and rooftops, (or in someone’s garden).

Green energy, clean, cheap, the way of the future…

That is what we are all told and wanted to believe and it all looked good to me until concerns about how a large-scale solar installation would affect the community, land, water and property values around it.

I began to look at the Green Energy Act and solar energy.

Very profitable for big business, often financed by foreign interests and contracts through the Green Energy Act/FITT, solar energy is far from efficient and rarely performs at maximum megawatt capacity, which is only possible within those few hours when the sun is at the correct angle and it’s not hazy, cloudy, foggy, raining or snowing and the panels are clear of dust, raindrops ice, leaves or even bird droppings (they do have to be cleaned).

Mining, manufacture, transportation, installation, and operation, all depend on fossil fuel, and solar cells produce more chemicals (mercury and cadmium) and lethal man made toxic emissions than those energy sources it is supposed to replace. And there are no recycling plants that can safely handle used toxic solar cells.

While proponents promise to replace soil, replace trees and return the land to its original condition, unless they have Mother Nature on their payroll, I don’t know how they can restore an ecosystem.

There seems to be a lot of evidence to suggest that, from beginning to end, large-scale solar energy is not green.

Further, an open letter to G20 meeting of Energy Ministers Oct. 2, 2015 quotes entrepreneur and philanthropist Bill Gates as stating, the cost of decarbonization using today’s technology is “beyond astronomical”. Having invested $1 billion in finding new ways to harness the energy from the sun, he suggests governments likewise redirect wasteful green subsidies to research and development.

Electricity exports (hydro we don’t need) have cost Ontario taxpayers billions of dollars – $2 million in June alone (Queen’s Park Report) – something we all should investigate.

That solar is big business no one can argue.

Who benefits? That is indeed debatable. Certainly Clearview residents will not. Not one light bulb will be lit, our taxes will rise because of added maintenance to roads, emergency services, and fire department upgrading, and of course if this plays out as it has in other areas, home values near the site will drop, if they can be sold at all, and no one seems to care about that.

Council can say no to large-scale renewable energy projects in this township.

If council has no power and cannot influence the outcome, why are they making any decision on this matter at all?

One cannot help wonder at the reasoning.

We all have a lot to learn in order to make wise decisions for our future.

As for myself, I’ve come to the conclusion that green energy in its present form, like the emperor’s new clothes, doesn’t exist.

They had been living in there, and as I soon found out, also in my new coop, chewing through the wooden floor in the corners.

I know that there are going to be rats on the farm, it comes with the territory, but the amount I saw blew me away.

My fearless rat-killing dogs were on some of them right away, a quick capture and shake and they were done.

One of my dogs, Scruff (who looks exactly as her name implies) is one of best ratters on Mount Zion.

This rat problem had to be cleared up pretty quick, weasels and minks like to eat rats, and once that food supply ran out the chickens would be next on the dinner menu.

I tried one type of poison and that got some, but one night Anthony happened to be camping out in the backyard with a couple of buddies when they heard a lot of scrabbling

Gonorrhea and antibiotic resistance on the rise Dr. Colin Lee Gonorrhea is here, more people are getting it, and that is bad news.

Last year, the number of gonorrhea cases reported in Ontario hit its highest point in a decade. Simcoe and Muskoka had 115 reported cases in 2014, a 58% increase from the 73 reported cases in 2013 and a 72% increase from the 67 reported cases in 2012.

Health officials and scientists alike view the trend with alarm. Beyond the numbers, they know that gonorrhea is getting harder and harder to treat because it is becoming resistant to all but a handful of antibiotics.

The simplest solution is to avoid contracting or spreading gonorrhea in the first place. In a world of buyer beware, some sexually active people continue to choose condomless sex instead of having The Conversation.

We need to start saying things like “I really care about you. I have been tested for STIs, have you?” or “Sorry, I always use a condom.” Some people don’t know that gonorrhea can be spread through oral sex, so if you are engaging in oral sex it is important to use a condom or barrier.

You can have a sexually transmitted infection (STI) like gonorrhea and not know it because you might not have any symptoms (up to 50%) – or, if you have symptoms, you might not recognize them. Unless you get tested, you may never know you are infected.

We encourage testing with every new sexual partner.

Symptoms may include burning or pain during urination, and discharge.

To ensure that the antibiotic treatments remain effective into the future, health care professionals and patients need

to work together. At present, the recommended and best treatment for gonorrhea includes two different antibiotics at the same time: one by injection and the other consists of four pills.

After treatment with antibiotics, it is important to wait a full seven days before resuming condomless sex.

If it is not treated properly, gonorrhea can lead to secondary diseases or sterility, and an increased risk of HIV. Patients and health care professionals need to fight gonorrhea together by doing their part to test, treat and prevent gonorrhea transmission. So far, the first-line treatment has been working.

But it may not last, and we are running out of options.

Time to blow the whistle on Harper Editor: I wish to register my wholehearted agreement with Simon Heath. His letter to the editor in the Sept. 18 issue, regarding the present federal government, is among the most concise and compelling I’ve ever read.

No one disputes the fact that the majority of Canadians do not want any more of the Harper mob. (Even the Conservatives’ own recent television ads call the election “close.”) We need to band together to prevent another catastrophic round of undemocratic governance. When an elected leader starts declaring that he’s “100% certain” he’s right about major policy decisions, it’s time to blow the whistle.

They went to investigate with flashlights and looked in the coop; it was amuck with rats (think the scene in the movie Ratatoulie when the old lady shoots her ceiling to find hundreds of rats up there).

That was it; I had only been getting the odd rat with this green poison, so I ordered online a red poison.

To date I have probably picked up close to 50 rats.

They are in the woodstove, where the week's catch goes up in smoke.

So if you have a rat problem, who ya gonna call? Scruff and I are happy to share the name of the poison.

One side note that I thought was a little humorous was that this poison was “safe for dogs and children”. I wonder what parents would volunteer a test child for that program?

Here’s to a rat-free fall, if you are going past my place on a Saturday night and wonder what’s cooking… well barbecued rat of course.

Hunt expands on a community tradition The Horse, Hound and Harvest Parade takes place in Creemore on Thanksgiving, Saturday at 11 a.m.

The parade, which has become a favourite annual event and a tourist attraction, is expanding this year to give spectators a prolonged look at the hound dogs, horses and their riders.

The huntsman and whipper-in lead the riders – men in red and the women in black dress coats and all sporting the blue collar of the Toronto and North York Hunt – as they follow the hounds on a route through the village.

The hunt, founded in 1843, is the second oldest hunt in Canada. It started in Toronto, on the shore of Lake Ontario, as the Toronto Hunt but moved northward to escape development.

The hunt’s stables are now located south of Creemore where it employs a full-time professional huntsman, whose job it is to care for the pack of English

foxhounds, owned by the hunt.

The hunt rides twice per week during the season. In the spring and fall, members of the hunt head out on parcels of land where they have gained permission to ride, near Creemore, Singhampton, Maxwell and Thornbury.

Riding to hounds is an English fox hunting tradition. In England, riders would meet in a small village with their horses and hounds and go off to hunt. It became so popular that people formed hunts where the dogs would be kept together in a kennel and cared for by the huntsman and remains popular with riders who want to get out into the countryside.

The hunters do not carry weapons.

The hounds sniff out and kill their prey, usually coyotes in these parts.

The parade starts and finishes at the Gordon Feed & Seed lot in the centre of town, directly across from Foodland.

Saturday, October 10, 2015 Parade begins at 11 a.m.

Apple pie contest Saturday The ninth annual Creemore Apple Pie Contest will be a part of the village’s Thanksgiving celebrations.

Bakers are encouraged to have a homemade pie ready for the judges on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Apple pies must be submitted by 9:30 a.m. at the Farmers’ Market next to Station on the Green.

They will be judged on flavour, appearance, crust and texture. Judging will be complete by 10:30 a.m., in time to catch the Toronto and North York Hunt’s ride to hounds at 11 a.m.

Ribbons will be awarded for the best pies. Slices of pie will be served to the public after the judging.

Pies will be judged by last year’s contest winner Hayley AvRuskin.

Following the Horse, Hound and Harvest Parade people are invited to Creemore Springs Brewery for Oktoberfest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Washboard Hank is performing.

Saturday, Oct. 10 also marks the last outdoor Creemore Farmers’ Market of the season, at Station on the Green from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Skydome builder turned wine maker, Magwood is driving a gator between the sloping vines. The vehicle is loaded with bins of grapes, secured by his passenger.

He tells me to hop on because he can’t stop to talk. There’s work to be done.

Back in the barn, the load is added to the inventory tallied on a large CHERYL MACLAURIN chalkboard along with other important data. Magwood then loads the grapes Sales Representative into a device designed to remove the stems, the first step in turning these particular Marechal Foch(Office) grapes into wine.

On the Ranch

Billy Crystal’s character in the movie City Slickers found his one thing, the secret of life, at a ranch and since then others have been looking for it in the wilds of southern Ontario.

Carl Cosack said when that film was released in 1991 it created a buzz around ranch life.

“Maybe we grew up on too many John Wayne movies,” said Carl. “We always wanted to be a Western style ranch, riding around the hillside trying to be as close to an authentic cattle ranch as you can in Ontario.”

The farm property was purchased

by Carl’s father Hans in 1964 when he still lived in Germany.

“The threat of war and political unrest drove my father to look for something better,” said Carl.

He found a little piece of paradise in Mulmur Township.

Standing tall in a plaid shirt and jeans secured with an NDACT belt buckle, cowboy hat and boots, Carl looks the part of rancher.

Three generations of Cosacks have worked the land of what is now a working 1,200-acre cattle ranch and tourist destination.

The Weatherall family is a big part of the history of the ranch, said Carl.

Morley Weatherall and his family operated the farm as a corn crop, feedlot and finishing beef cattle.

Carl left Germany in 1975. He was 16 and yearning for adventure so he came to Canada to take advantage of the family farm.

Carl said those were good times and it was always rewarding to see when Peace Valley Ranch had the highest

sales of the week in the farm reports.

The operation faced restructuring in the late 1970s due to a downturn in the farming economy and, ahead of their time, the Cosacks went organic.

Hans Cosack moved to Canada in 1982 and still lives on an adjacent property on the ranch. He just turned 90.

The 1980s were very challenging, said Cosack. They were facing crazy interest rates and a tornado devastated the property in 1985. He said the community had always been most welcoming to the family and, even though they were surrounded by immigrants of many nationalities, they never felt any discrimination for having

Nikki Cosack training her horse, Sunshine. fought on the other side of the Second World War. The whole neighbourhood pitched in to help clean up and rebuild after the tornado. Carl said 60 people worked for four weeks to get the place cleaned up.

Carl said by 1988 the farm was certified organic and the following year, Peace Valley Ranch found salvation in the form of a purchase contract from Miracle Food Mart. The grocery chain purchased a line of premium beef, which brought the farm back into financial stability.

By 1996 Peace Valley Ranch reinvented itself as a tourist destination.

“City Slickers made it popular to

go to a ranch and the phone hasn’t stopped ringing since,” said Carl. “Now we have 40 horses and we do all this crazy stuff.”

Visitors can experience ranch life through guided trail rides and a stay in the family home, which operates as a B&B. Carl’s daughter Nikki continues to work on the ranch focusing on natural horsemanship, getting the horses ready for riders. Carl’s wife Natalie Kotyck is a trainer.

“Still to this day I consider Canada to be the land of opportunity; if you want to put in, it’ll give back,” said Carl. “We are living the good life.”

Residents want pet waste, diapers added to green bin

More than 1,300 residents responded to the County of Simcoe’s Green Bin Survey, demonstrating strong interest in organics and opportunity to grow the program and increase Simcoe County’s diversion rate.

Survey results comprised of 100 door-to-door respondents and 1,291 online respondents.

The survey was completed between June 22 and August 14. The purpose of the survey was to determine what residents see as motivators and barriers in regards to participation in the County’s green bin organics program.

Insights will also be considered as the Solid Waste Management Strategy is updated.

Of the 100 door-to-door respondents, 60 per cent indicated that they use their green bin regularly, with 15 per cent using it sometimes and 25 per cent of respondents indicating that they do not use their green bin at all.

The online responses saw a higher percentage of participation in the Green

Bin program, with 83.2 per cent of respondents indicating that they use their green bin regularly, 4.7 per cent sometimes and 12.1 per cent not using it at all.

The survey results indicate that residents see room for growth by expanding the types of materials collected. When asked what changes could be made to improve the use of green bins, both online and doorto-door respondents indicated that allowing pet waste/diapers would be a motivator for increased use of their green bin. Other motivating options which may be considered by County Council as part of the Solid Waste Management Strategy update include biweekly garbage collection, use of clear garbage bags and pay as you throw, where every bag of garbage would require a garbage tag.

“The results confirm that we’re taking the right steps by investigating the potential to operate our own Organics Processing Facility in Simcoe County,”

said Warden Gerry Marshall. “Our own facility would allow us to expand the type of materials that we currently accept, including the addition of pet waste and in the long run diapers. This could drive greater participation in the program among our residents and ultimately increase our diversion of organics away from our landfills.”

The findings also confirmed that there is an opportunity to increase participation by identifying strategies that encourage the use of green bins during the warmer months of the year. Some of the main barriers to using a green bin which were noted by respondents include: They don’t use it because of the ‘yuck’ factor or they can’t be bothered, the current one garbage bag per week limit allows for room to dispose of their organic materials in the garbage instead or they have a backyard composter.

“We have a number of green bin tips on our website that address some of these concerns and barriers. Also,

by adding materials that can’t go in a backyard composter, we may encourage greater participation year-round. I’m excited about these findings and look forward to working with all our partners to identify strategies to grow our organics program,” said Marshall.

There will be two sessions, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The format will include formal presentations at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., followed by a question and answer session.

Presented content will be consistent at all sessions.

Low-cost rabies clinics offered throughout region until Nov. 4 Pet owners can take advantage of special rabies clinics across Simcoe and Muskoka over the next few weeks.

The clinics provide an inexpensive way to get the rabies shots for dogs and cats over three months old.

This year there are 36 clinics and 26 participating vets to make it easier to

attend. They run until Nov. 4.

“We’re really grateful to the veterinarians who are giving their time to these clinics,” said rabies program coordinator Tanya Fehr with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. “Pet owners are required by law to have their pets immunized against

rabies, and with the number of clinics this year we hope to be able to build significantly on the protection against rabies across the region.”

The clinics provided vaccines to more than 3,800 pets against rabies last year.

Burton Somerville was committed to his community

by Trina Berlo Burton Somerville was fully immersed in his community.

He loved people and he liked to have fun, said his wife Fran.

“He didn’t like to miss anything,” she said, adding he liked to be informed and got involved in whatever he could.

Burton had an interest in all things political. He kept an eye on council and sat on the committee of adjustment.

Fran said Burton was an innovative farmer and in some ways was ahead of his time. He once worked with the University of Guelph on an agricultural study, had an interest in alternative energy and exposed dozens of young people to farming through a summer employment program.

Fran said urban youth enrolled in the program lived with them at the farm and learned about life in the country.

These youth had never had a home life that involved regular meals as a family at the kitchen table. She said in many cases it was more like an adoption program.

“We’ve been to all their weddings and Christenings for their babies. We have kept in touch with them all these years, they were all great kids,” said Fran.

One of them was a pallbearer at Burton’s funeral last week.

“Burton’s church was very important to him. He was baptized in the United Church in Stayner where he was a member for 81 years and he was on every committee and taught Sunday school to many of the young people who came to the visitation,” said Fran.

He was a proud father, involved in his son Wayne’s hockey and daughter Nancy’s figure skating. Wayne played for the Stayner Siskins and Nancy, who died of ALS in 2005, was a gold-medal skater.

Burton was also an athlete and a sports fan. He played junior hockey with the Stayner Royals and he was the pitcher for the junior farmer baseball team.

Burton and Fran raised their two children on the family farm, just east of Stayner.

Burton’s parents, with two sons and a daughter, moved from a farm on the 27/28 Sideroad to a new farm on Highway 26 in 1952.

Fran said there was so little traffic on the highway at the time that they drove the cattle down the sideroad and down County Road 7 to their new home.

“They just drove their herd right down the road,” said Fran. “They called the neighbours and said they would be doing it at such and such a time and they all went out and stood in their laneways.”

Fran and Burton met through Junior Farmers more than 60 years ago. Fran (nee MacNicol) lived on a farm south of Duntroon. They were both on the executive and got to know each other during monthly meetings.

They courted for almost three years before marrying in 1957. They lived in Stayner for a short time before building a home on the Somerville family farm.

“I always say, we were like the Newfies because we moved four times

Once their children were teenagers, they moved to the main house.

“We started Waynan Dairy Farms in 1960,” said Fran. “We purchased the farm next door and across the street from Mr. Elvin Smith and he had the same number of cows and the same amount of dairy quota as he did.”

She said they bought the lot and moved them to their farm and that was the beginning of Waynan Dairy Farms.

She said when it came time to name the operation they made several submissions that were already taken.

It was Fran’s mother who suggested Waynan, a hybrid of her children’s names, Wayne and Nancy.

In addition to the dairy operation, they sold beef cattle all over the world.

“That was big business before footand-mouth and all those weird diseases came up and all the borders were shut to Canada and that petered out,” said Fran.

She said Burton was fully immersed in the farm community, he always showed cattle at the Royal winter fair, the Ex and all the local fairs.

“He was big on fairs and big on community, anything that was community,” said Fran. “He helped build the hall at Duntroon, he was on the board of Sunnidale Corners hall for 10 years, he was chairman of the board.

Anything rural and anything exciting, he was part of it.”

Doghouse and Home

by Trina Berlo Fresh air, long walks in the country and a beautiful view – if it sounds like the perfect resort getaway and it is but it’s not for the two-legged types.

At Club Amarillo it’s the quadrupeds that are treated to a little rest and relaxation.

From their kennels, the dogs are watching a movie on the flat screen television. The movie Cats and Dogs (in which a pack of dogs work to stop a group of cats from sabotaging the development of a dog allergy vaccine) proves to be a crowd favourite.

The Club Amarillo owner Dana Mailhot said familiar sounds and smells, like the television and pillows and blankets from home, help the dogs settle in and relax.

Most of the guests are at the club because their owners are off on vacations of their own. Knowing that their dogs are happy helps their owners enjoy their vacations.

Mailhot said she has a lot of city dogs come stay at the club.

“We offer a real country experience with fresh air and hand walking (on a leash),” said Mailhot. “It’s a very quiet, relaxed atmosphere and they get to experience things they have never experienced.”

orthopedic beds, including a family condo for multiple dogs from one family, an indoor bark park and an outdoor off-leash run called Freedom 55 – aptly named for the number of minutes each dog can run free – and a track that is shared with the horses that live and board at the Mulmur Township farm.

Having grown up on a farm in St. Jacob’s, Mailhot said she has always enjoyed the company of dogs and horses. She used to work as an exercise rider for racehorses and travelled all over the United States, conditioning some of the best racers on the circuit.

Fifteen years ago, she and her husband Mike bought the farm and named it Club Amarillo with the goal of having a homebase to work from so there would be less travel as they started a family.

They named the farm after a tack shop Mailhot owned in Glencairn, which she operated five years previously.

When the slots were removed from Woodbine, Mailhot said the race horse industry was hit hard and there was less work. As a way of supplementing the farm’s income, Mailhot opened the kennel and began boarding dogs.

She said it has been a great fit and she now has many regular customers.

Dan was not much of a drinker, however one night he had consumed much too much alcohol and when he arrived home made his way to the bedroom and slept.

In the morning two aspirins and a glass of water were at his bedside, his clothes were cleaned and hanging neatly, the house was spotlessly shining and a hot breakfast was on the table beside a note from his wife declaring her love for him and she had to go but had prepared this lovely breakfast. Dan’s son came into the kitchen and Dan asked what happened the night before. His son said well dad you came home fell over the coffee table and broke it, was sick in the hallway and when mother tried to take you to the bedroom and remove your clothes you said “hussy leave me alone I am married”. Right words I’d say.

Women over 60 can multi-task like sneeze and pee at the same time.

Remember: One day you will be just a memory for someone, do your best to be a good one.

Harold Davidson, of Lavender, has been its caretaker since his brother died in 1998, and has continued to use the machine. He estimates it has cut over 5,000 acres of crops over the years in Mulmur and Nottawasaga (now Clearview) townships. Fire Prevention week Hear the Beep Where you Sleep!

Fire Prevention Week is October 4-10, 2015. Clearview Fire & Emergency Services is encouraging everyone to hear the beep where you sleep and install a working smoke alarm in every bedroom.

“Many fatal fires occur at night when everyone is asleep, so early warning is crucial to survival,” says Chief Colin Shewell. “The Ontario Fire Code requires working smoke alarms on every storey of the home and outside all sleeping areas. For added protection, our fire department is recommending that you also install a smoke alarm in every bedroom.”

The best protection will be provided by inter-connected smoke alarms. The alarm closest to the fire will sense the smoke, triggering all of the alarms throughout the home. For easy installation, wireless interconnected smoke alarms are now available.

Smoke alarms are required to be replaced within the time frame indicated by the manufacturer. This is usually ten years. When replacing interconnected smoke alarms, it is advisable to replace all units in the system at the same time. If a single malfunctioning alarm needs to be replaced, make sure the new alarm is compatible with the existing units.

Notice - Snow Removal The Municipality or its’ employees will not be responsible for any damage done to vehicles parked or abandoned on Township Road Allowances, sidewalks or parking lots, by the Township Snow Removal or sand forces.

Any vehicle left on road allowances, sidewalks or parking lots under the jurisdiction of the Township of Clearview may be referred to the Ontario Provincial Police and removed at the owner’s expense.

As per the Highway Traffic Act, Section 170 Subsection (12) no person shall park or stand a vehicle on a highway in such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic or the clearing of snow from the highway.

No vehicle shall be parked or left standing on any street, road allowance, sidewalk or municipal parking lot within the Township of Clearview between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the winter season from November 1st, 2015 until March 15th, 2016. Any vehicles parked or left standing during the aforementioned period may be charged to and collected from the owner of the offending vehicle and the matter may be referred to the Ontario Provincial Police.

Moreover, anyone guilty of depositing snow on roads, sidewalks or parking lots under the jurisdiction of the Township of Clearview while cleaning lanes, etc. causing an obstruction to traffic or causing damage to snow removal equipment is liable for any damages that may result from same and may be charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
