McGillivray, Mary Christena – Friends and relatives were saddened to learn of the passing of Christena on Thursday, August 13, 2015 in her 89th year at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston, Ontario, with her family at her side. Christena was born in Creemore on April 24, 1927. She was the daughter of the late George Abraham Montgomery and Mary Elizabeth Sidey. Christena married Donal McGillivray on November 18, 1944. They resided at Creemore until Donal accepted a position with the OPP in 1949. At this time they moved to Stayner. Together they had six children. In 1966 they moved to Alliston. Christena remained living there after Donal passed away until 2012. She moved to Creemore to live with daughter Jo-Ann Langman for a year. She then moved into her own home on Collingwood Street, Creemore until her passing. Christena will be lovingly remembered by her children Wayne (Marylou), Jo-Ann, Linda (Don), Marlene (Doug) & Stephen (Denise). Forever cherished by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 greatgreat-grandchild. Predeceased by her husband Donal, daughter Sharon and grandson Dennis. Survived by sister Grace. Predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Albert, Bob & Norman and sister Elizabeth. Funeral services were held at Fawcett Funeral Home, Creemore on Monday, August 17, 2015. Pall bearers were grandsons Sean Sparling, Justin McGillivray, Dean Langman, Kevin Prentice, Jason Maxwell, Daniel & Colton McGillivray. Flower bearers were granddaughters Stephanie Brennen, Kristen McGregor, Shellie Sherson and Alicia McGillivray. Interment was in Stayner Union Cemetery.
