A WIND MEETING WITHOUT A MAP Skyway 124, or at least their consultants, are polite, but where are their turbines going?

The Echo’s Fred Mills and Georgi Denison delivered this carload of food and toys to the Clearview Stayner Food Bank last Thursday. We were awed, as we are every year, by the generosity of this village at this time of year. For more on the Stayner Clearview Food Bank’s activities, see page 8.

by Brad Holden A steady crowd of people showed up at the Skyway 124 wind proposal public meeting Monday night, where they discovered, as per usual with projects under the Green Energy Act, that the event was more of a public information night than a meeting. The only problem this time around was that there wasn’t much information to be had at all. Now, before we go on, it must be said that Skyway 124, which we understand is basically a group of investors, did a far better job Monday night than they did in 2009, when the first iteration of their project was up for approval. On that occasion, there were police at the door, limited answers from representatives, and boards on the walls with no writing at all, only pictures of smiling people running through fields of wind turbines. Get your CreemoreCentric on!

The Mad and Noisy Gallery are now selling square canvases for $20, in hopes of seeing lots of “CreemoreCentric” art on the walls of the gallery in January. The annual show welcomes everyone and anyone to buy a canvas, decorate it in anyway (eg. paint, pastel, pencil crayon, photography, quilting, collage, etc.) so that it captures something that you hold dear about Creemore. The show will open on Saturday, January 7 from 2 to 5 pm and a silent auction of the art will take place throughout the month.

A FESTIVE SCENE Fred Mills went out on a Christmas decorations walkabout last weekend, and

declared Steve Morby’s house on Elizabeth Street West to be the merriest in town. If you’ve not yet marvelled at Morby’s decorations, which include Santa in a plane, in a helicopter, and on a John Deere tractor, they’re definitely worth a drive-by. Serving Mulmur & The Creemore Hills for 35 years
