Honeywood carries on their beefy tradition The Honeywood Beef Barbecue is celebrating 50 years this weekend. The inaugural event was held to help raise funds to rebuild the arena which was demolished by a fire in January of 1965. Th e tr adition of c ommunity volunteers banding together for their facility remains intact with this annual dinner. Organizers say the slow cooked beef and homemade desserts are not to be missed during this year’s event on Saturday, July 25, adding its a great chance to meet neighbours and other Mulmur residents, as well as those who come from farther away each year to enjoy the meal. Anyone interested in volunteering at the event is asked to e-mail info@ mulmurtownship.ca.
