Vol. 10 No. 30

News and views in and around Creemore

The election heats up in Ward 3 by Brad Holden and Sara Hershoff With several large issues dominating at the Council table these days, it would be easy to forget there’s actually a municipal election scheduled for October 25, 2010. But slowly and surely, the candidate lists are filling up, and nowhere more so than Ward 3, the sleepy riding that includes Dunedin, Glen Huron, Maple Valley and Singhampton. The only riding where the incumbent didn’t file for re-election with the rest of his colleagues three weeks ago, Ward 3 saw several others jump into the fray before Marc Royal, the area’s current Councillor, finally decided to throw his hat back in the ring last week. So I figured, what better way than to start in your hometown?” Metheral said he has no hidden agenda or pet issues, believing the best (See “Multiple” on page 3)

Kareem Abu-Halemiah of Mississauga enjoyed the Dunedin Tractor Rally from the seat of Grandpa Lloyd Rowbotham’s 1958 550 Oliver Tractor. This lovingly restored tractor was just one of the 70 that took part in the ride through the area’s hills and valleys. For more pictures see page 6 and 7.
