It is a wonderous and exciting time of year, certainly one of fresh beginnings! We are proud to announce that we have met a remarkable achievement with the inaugural release of the 2012 Sextant Sparkling Brut. A masterpiece of patience and determination, and a project uniquely passionate to Craig, this sparkler celebrates the culmination of over ten years of suspense, eight of those spent en tirage elevating the wine’s flavor and texture profiles above and beyond our expectations. We would love for you to taste our Sparkling Brut and toast this monumental release at our tasting room in Paso Robles, or in Edna Valley. At Sextant’s sister winery, we have officially opened Cépage at Paris Valley Road Estate Winery. Cépage is a stunning stage for Chef Joe White’s seasonal menu offerings, each expertly paired with a worldclass Paris Valley Road estate wine. An exquisite restaurant, Cépage is designed to accommodate both indoor and outdoor seating, making every visit a memorable experience. 2021 GRENACHE BL ANC Flagship Series
White wine varietals have always been difficult to grow in Paso Robles, but Grenache Blanc has proven time and time again it can stand up to our warmer summer temperatures. Grown in our estate RBZ Vineyard in the El Pomar district, we hand pick this small block, and go direct to press upon arrival at the winery. Slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel aids in preserving the fresh fruit aromas. 2019 CAVERIO
Founder’s Collection Hand picked off of our RBZ vineyard in the El Pomar sub AVA of Paso Robles, the 2019 Caverio is 83% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre. Each varietal is fermented and aged separately in a mix of new and used French and Hungarian oak barrels. We were particularly happy with the way our Grenache showed this vintage, so we chose to blend in just a small portion of Syrah for tannin and Mourvèdre to add depth to the aroma. Passage serves as a beautiful Syrah-based blend that stands between our Caverio and Portolan blends. Some of the finest Syrah, hand picked from our RBZ Vineyard, is the backbone to this bold blend. Grenache and Mourvèdre are added for complexity on the nose, while Petite Sirah helps build tannin. The 2019 Portolan is the second release of our estate Syrah cofermented with Viognier. At 3%, the Viognier helps bind color, and brings floral aromas to the Syrah. All hand picked and fermented in stainless steel, this lot is barrel aged in a mix of new and used French puncheon barrels for 18 months.
