As we step into 2026, I am delighted to share with you another fabulous season of performances, films, live screenings and a whole host of workshops and events at The Courtyard.

This programme celebrates the very best in theatre, comedy, dance, music and a vast array of community engagement. And, as always, its shaped and curated with our audiences at heart.

Whilst there is plenty to enjoy in the coming months, I am thrilled to let you know about something truly extraordinary that we will be staging in August 2026. The Courtyard will be transforming Herefordshire’s cultural landscape with the arrival of The Amp – a spectacular 1400 seat marquee right here in the city. We will host world-class headline acts on this scale, creating an unforgettable atmosphere that will bring international talent to our doorstep.

I can promise you it will be one of the most exciting cultural moments the county has seen in recent times, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

In the meantime, I invite you to immerse yourself in everything The Courtyard has to offer from the very best in drama to family favourites, comedy to Musical Theatre - The Courtyard has something for everyone.

How does it work?

Tickets can be booked in advance as usual, online or via Box Office, with no obligation to pay until after you have seen the performance. You then decide on a price based on your experience! At the end of the show, our Stewards will be on the door to take payments via cash or card.

All money collected will help The Courtyard pay the artists who have performed, and we therefore hope you will give generously!

Friends and Patrons are exempt from the transaction fee, get 10% off marked shows in the brochure and 20% off in-house shows

The Relaxed Performance is open to everyone but may benefit individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning difficulties or sensory and communication difficulties. The aim is to retain all the magic of the theatre experience but in a more relaxed environment through sensitive changes to the performance. We keep the lights on low, the audience is welcome to move around and are not expected to be quiet, a Social Story is provided beforehand and a quiet, sensory room is available if a break from the show is needed.

Vincent van Gogh died in 1890, John Lennon died in 1980, both of gunshot wounds to the chest. But imagine what might have happened, had the two greatest artists of their time, met? Around five years before their deaths both men went through profound change. Vincent renounced his religious ambitions and began to paint in earnest. John renounced sex, drugs and rock & roll and began five years seclusion as a family unit. This play takes place at their exact moment of crisis and decision, exploring love, death, art and legacy.

Alloy: Sense of place

Alloy is a collective of contemporary jewellers and silversmiths who live and work in Herefordshire. Reflecting on their creative, geographical or biological links to Herefordshire; this exhibition is an opportunity for members to expand their creative practices through playful exploration and utilisation of personal research. Alloy makers will be running various artist talks, workshops and tours throughout the duration of the exhibition. There will also be be a contemporary jewellery fair in the Nell Gwynne Studio on 21 February.

Herefordshire Art and Craft Society Est.1922, are a community of talented creatives who work in various media - paint, ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, textiles, wood etc. They have a hard working committee, drawn from members, who give their time freely to organise exhibitions and events. The Committee have chosen three titles for members to work from. ‘Uncharted’ ‘In Between’ and ‘A Moment in Time’ which should produce some exciting and thought provoking work for this exhibition.

Youth Theatre offers young people high quality theatre training with experienced, specialised tuition from expert practitioners in a safe and inclusive environment and provides a range of performance opportunities.
