Summer is here and the releases are heating up! We’ve got a whole host of environments for you to spend this June in, whether it’s the post-apocalyptic desert madness of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (cover) or in the renewed and beautiful British landscapes of Wilding.

We’ve also got several special events this month including Film is Fabulous! - Recovered, our charity screening of Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son and the return of Radix Film Club with their 35mm presentation of Twister (1996).

Our Young Film Programmers have also been hard at work developing Unity Festival, a 6 film collection to celebrate and embrace the various facets of Pride month!

The Courtyard is pleased to host this screening as supported by Hereford City Rotary who are aiming to shine a spotlight on homelessness in Hereford, and raise money for local charities who are fighting against it. All proceeds from this screening will be split between The Living Room and Herefordshire Veteran Support Centre.

Tickets include a free coffee/tea and a cake prior to the screening. Standard ticket prices apply.

Homelessness can happen to anyone and this was true for Director Lorna Tucker who brings her own experience to this documentary. When she was 15, Lorna ran away from home and ended up in London on the streets. So how did a smiling and happy seven year old end up sleeping rough and addicted to heroin just a few years later? Through her raw interviews with some extraordinary individuals experiencing homelessness, you’re left with a feeling of utter sadness but also enormous hope. It’s a tender reminder that homelessness should not be considered an inevitable part of modern life.

This June, Radix Film Club is excited to present Unity Festival! We can’t wait to celebrate Pride Month with a series of screenings and events for all! Exploring various aspects of queer life, our selection of films encompasses the different facets of pride: protest, party, art, history, personal stories, and family, and will be accompanied by a range of events and activities to explore what Pride means to all of us.

Kicking off the festival, we have a heartwarming true story of communities coming together in solidarity. Pride tells the story of the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, a group of activists who raised thousands of pounds to support striking miners in the 1980s. As well as marking the 10 year anniversary of the film’s release, 2024 also marks 40 years since the miner’s strike itself, so please join us for screenings of solidarity and celebration!
