MANNER BEK HYUNJIN

SEOUL MANNER BY BEK HYUNJIN

The Coronet Theatre presents ‘Seoul Manner’ an exclusive concert featuring songs from Korean legend Bek Hyunjin’s unreleased album of the same name, as well as from his acclaimed 2019 record ‘Light, Many’.

Bek Hyunjin is an actor, contemporary artist, installation artist, performance artist, and singer/songwriter based in Seoul, South Korea. For the past 30 years, Hyunjin’s unique artistry and musical style has amassed a cult following in the South Korean Indie music scene. With vividly metaphorical lyrics, and deeply expressive musicality, there is no musician comparable to Bek Hyunjin.

His music career started in 1994 as the vocalist of experimental pop-rock unit “UhUhBoo Project” along with LEENALCHI’s Jang Younggyu and Won Il. In 2008, he released his first solo album Time of Reflection, which was selected as one of the 100 best indie albums in 2014. He released his second solo album Light, Many in 2019. Since 2008 he has also made his name as a painter, actor and a film director. Legendary choreographer Pina Bausch used his music in Nefés and invited Bek Hyunjin to perform with her in Germany.
